Well I was diagnosed in January, had the usual advice, been to see the dietician, got my eye drops in next week.
The thing is I got myself a meter, and have been testing - not religiously but enough to know my bs is not under 6. Even got it to 14 after a bowl of All Bran. Anyway got another blood test next month, if my bs hasn't come down despite low carbing (the bowl of All Bran was a desperate measure one evening cos I was starving) and working hard with a kettlebell will metformin sort it? Will it bring my sugars down in addition to low carbing, Gawd I'm repeating myself.

But you will still need to change your lifestyle in a big way and which ever way you choose you will have to accept that that change will be for the rest of your life.
