wow A1c result

Congratulations on a job well done! Having had the retest after just 8 weeks that will have included some blood cells from during your undiagnosed period, so I fully expect if you carry on as you are doing the next test will be lower still.

Well done everyone!
I'm down to 79 (3rd week of Feb) after being newly diagnosed (116 at the beginning of January!)

One tablet and mostly diet/exercise.

However I have no weight to lose (currently a male weighing 57.5kg!)
Any advice?

Up the (healthy) fats and protein further, that should help!

Do you drink alcohol? If so, stop.
on the risk of derailing the discussion,
Why are you saying "stop drinking alcohol" as a general statement?
There are many benefits of reducing or stopping drinking alcohol,
including losing or not gaining weight.
Regarding T2, some alcoholic beverages give spikes, for example beer is "liquid bread"
and cocktail are often sugar bombs.
However other alcoholic beverages don't raise blood sugar,
I am enjoying a wee dram (whisky) at the moment, which if at all it lowers my blood sugar.
Dry wine is fine as well.

Evening @Lupf. Yes, spirits in general, brandy, gin, vodka, whisky etc, when served on the rocks, do not raise blood glucose. Mixers OTOH are often full of sugar!

Well done to you all, you've made a good start on your whacky wagon ride we're all on.

Apologies, I meant to quote SlimType2's post and should have been more verbose.

If you are slim, and have Type 2, doing diet + medication and struggling to lower your A1C - try abstaining from alcohol and see if that helps. Sure one can enjoy alcohol as an occasional treat, but not everyone does see it as that. Some background:

A long but interesting read. The embedded video accompanies it.
