The last few weeks have seen a number of technological type 1 breakthroughs. Like a bunch of kids in a toyshop, we’re excited. Unlike kids in a toyshop, we couldn’t wait to share.
Johnson and Johnson will be manufacturing more of their wearable insulin patch-pens, which should be released at some point in 2016.
The patch-pen delivers bolus insulin doses when you press the right buttons, without the need to poke a needle into yourself. Nice and simple.

On a similar topic, Insulin Angel is a device that precisely tracks the temperature of medication, so that they don’t deteriorate.
You plant the Insulin Angel sensor inside your medication bag, and the smartphone app lets you know how it’s doing. If you leave your medication behind, or lose it, the app will let you know.
Insulin Angel is currently being crowdfunded on Indiegogo, and will cost £33.
