Type 2 Life

5.3 this morning. 6.1 before evening meal and 4.8 after 2 hours. Well I got really stressed with the cooking - trying to do a large Chicken Casserole so I could freeze a couple of meals to give myself a bit less cooking at times. It just takes so long to do things and I felt as if I was running out of energy. Did go for a half hour walk after meal which helped to calm me down. I think stress affects my levels even more than food.

I test fasting, before and after evening meals, which can have some carbs in, though not often,
Breakfast is either yogurt and nuts, celery, cheese and nuts or chia seed coffee, peanut butter and cocoa with nuts.
Lunch is either the same or soup, cauliflower, broccoli or chicken.
DInner can vary. This evening was chicken marinated in lime juice for 2 hours, then wrapped in parma ham and fried in olive oil, with cabbage cooked in coconut oil and sauerkraut, glass of white wine (usual, normally a red but sharing with wife and son), two homemade chocolates, cardamon and juniper, respectively.
Before 5.4
After 4.6
I did go for a stiff 30 min walk in the wild wind.... which was great.
I tested 30 mins at the 4.6 and got a 5.0, to see if there was much of a bounce after the walk..
Be interesting to see what my fasting is in the morning..
Good night chums.

The walk thing is a good thing I find...
I might even take up star gazing.... :)
Sorry to hear about the stress.... it is a ******.

I find that too, my brother is epileptic and has learning difficulties. He had a fit last weekend and because he lives on his own (opposite me!) I go over there regularly to make sure he's alright. This time he wasn't :( The irony is he sleeps it off and doesn't remember having one but I end up stressed because I remember each one and I can see the effect it's having on him

Does anyone find FLO texts helpful?
When they ask how many days exercise you have done a week does it only mean gym, swimming or power walking? (eg. Sweating/ out of breath activities).
I'm walking with crutch and I'm getting sweaty and out of breath all the time. Does that constituent as exercise?
I've lost another 6lb by that alone. Still painful to sit or walk (or lie down) just have to be pumped up with co-codamol to take the edge off. :-/

What is FLO?
I'm sure any walking will count as exercise including using a crutch. Well done on the weight loss. Feel so sorry for you with your pains as that doesn't help, do hope you can get some relief.

FLO is a text messaging service which asked me most days what is my fasting bgs. On occasion asks my weight, if I've lost and how many days I've exercised every week. I reply back to FLO who reply with some advice.
My diabetic unit attached to our hospital in Sunderland monitor it. I believe.
It can help but I'm sure I've given it the wrong numbers on occasion thou. Especially exercise as I never stop with 2 young kids and four to feed, clean and nuture. Ha ha
I guess if I could be more accurate it could help more. Eg. When asking weight I didn't replace my scales til recently. Kids broke last ones. Hum... Sorted now with glass ones and hidden. :-)

Thanks @bigjohn9916. God knows what swimming will be like now with a crutch to stop me falling over. I am definitely going to look ridiculous now. Ok I'm large and have stretch marks but I'm definitely going to stand out. :-(
I'm brave but not sure I'm that brave?

7.3 am, was 6.8 at bedtime. decided to try an apple for breakfast - couldn't stop at one so had two !! 9.5 an hour and half later !! no more apples for me !! still got ALOT of figuring out regarding diet !

and back at work after 12 days off - maybe stress is a factor too.
