Type 2 Life

Hi @loulou99782 trust your sore throat & sniffles didn't come to a head, I see that you're off to work today, so that s good. My hubby & oldest son have a viral fluey- type infection just now so I'm trying to keep my distance! Keep well x
Thanks Lizanne hope your OK and staying away from the bugs. My throat is not too bad but nose is like a drippy tap:rolleyes:. Hope hubby and your son soon feel better

Fbg 8.7 this morning after a painful evening as I was holding off co-codamol to have a comfortable night. 2 year olds first night in his own bed. He woke 3 times. I'm shattered. His dad is sleeping now so I can later. As soon as toddler has his nap I'm there too. :-) :-) :-)
Oh Ickihun hope you have been able to sleep and little one limes there 'big' bed. Take care and try the painkillers if you need them, pain is horrible and no one should have to suffer needlessly:)

Thanks @loulou99782 . The ibuprofen tablets had sucrose in them so I took sparingly. Co-codamol allows me to get around with less pain but it's strange but I still feel one piece of pain in the thigh. Mind you it is a big muscle to sort out. It's a sharp pain now. Calf now only in pain when I walk. Numbness not so cold either. :-) I'm hoping something is happening.
I've read that type 1s can have problems even with low sugars causing cramping etc..
I have been running at 7+8s mainly then lowerer bgs with extra insulin mix. I wonder if the extra insulin causing me problems as I take alot. I've read it was thought to cause problems then dismissed. At times I am totally confused. I've decided to try and keep bgs 6-7 and fbg as close to that too.
How are you, currently? Hope you are able to identify lows as soon as possible and your bgs work well for you. :-)

Not sure about what is causing the sudden lows but am keeping a food, activity and sugar diary so we might be able to find something. I take tramadol for my muscle pain and have been on quinine for muscle cramps for as about 3yrs so before the diabetes was diagnosed. Hope your pain and numbness eases. Take care

4.7 this morning, very happy with that. 4.6 before evening meal and 4.9 after 2 hours so very happy with that as even had some sweet potato fries.

5.0 am... not eating quite so much and an earlier dinner last night... were meant to be going out to the Trad Awards in Dundee last night but son not in a great place, so didn't, which was as well... as they closed the Tay bridge just before 23:00.... which would have meant a long drive to Perth and then back to Newport... pity to miss it but there you go.
Off to feed the bird feeder that got blown away last night...
Good Sunday chums.

4.7 still happy with that. Did manage to go up to 6.1 after a meal yesterday so my meter can read higher.

5.2 am, okay after way too much pork last night...
going to try getting back into morning exercises, not quite so easy when it is cold and dark...
Weighed myself yesterday, do it every two weeks, 71 kg again, which is okay, though feeling hungry more frequently and seem to be grazing on nuts the whole day, when I am at home, easier not to at work... and end up eating way too much at the evening meal...
Hope you all have a good week.

4.6 am...

I tend to think that two things are going on with my BG's,
One, clearly responds to my carb in take, eat some carbs and it goes whoosh...
Two, there is an underlying ebb and flow, which probably reflects my mental and physiological state. On the odd times I fasted during the day I will start low at 06:00 and gradually increase to low mid 6 at lunchtime..
Recently I've noticed that if I test around 18;00 I will often be sub 4 and when I test before eating at 19:00 it will be back to mid upper 4.
I'm not too sure what to do with my sub 4's as I really don't feel any different and they usually pass..
No swimming today, son has a unsettled digestive tract, so best to keep it out of the water.... it will be a walk instead.

A low 4.1 for me after a late night at Girl's Brigade awards evening.

I agree and that is why it is so difficult to keep really tight control.
I was 5.3 this morning, up slightly from the last few days. Quite happy with that as had eaten a bit more cheese than normal last night and also didn't go for my usual walk after evening meal as we had visitors.

Can't help with experience on the sub 4's as only had one a long time ago 3.9 and that was just before eating and I was really hungry. What I have found online

Continuous Glucose Profiles in Healthy Subjects under Everyday Life Conditions and after Different Meals
This does show non diabetics go up and down slightly during the day. The units are mg/dl so need to be converted to mmol/L
http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-sugar-converter.html

I found this interesting In fig 1 - subject 3 had rising blood sugar before dinner whereas subject 19 was falling.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2769652/figure/fig1/

Would seem non diabetics have very different patterns as well as us diabetics.

I'm still wide awake. I've never stopped today. Appointment after appointment and shopping. Live and on-line. Just a few more gifts to get. I hope Asda doesn't let me down tomorrow for some bits.
I'm eating out Christmas Day so no food needed for that. Wow does it take the edge off! I'm going to smuggle in some protein roll crackers and hard cheese. Dry white wine seems to lower my sugar a little so for once in a long while I'll have a shared sweet if I'm having a low. Maybe. How is everyone else's plans coming along?

We are going out for dinner on Christmas day, your right Ickihun it really does take the weight off no cooking or washing up and everyone gets a break.
Just got some cards to write and a few more gifts to buy, then its on to the wrapping.

Hmmm.... started to think about it...
I do the cooking at MiL, who is not in great shape, age and attitude since FiL died.
Things on the list include: order food, gammon this year, tree for the weekend, make chocolates for lab, cards and some prezzies.. Majestics for some wine....

5.6 am... late today.... way too much fish and late eating.... MiL not in good shape...
