Type 2 Life

When I was 16 I was offered a job with the Bluebell girls dancing in the Black and White Minstrels touring show (older forum members might remember?) My father had a "fit" and threatened to lock me in my room ! :) lol! I cried for a week
What a shame you couldn't go

I remember the black and white minstrels lol

And the good old days

I'm still singing after my trip to Edinburgh and "Chicago" Met two lovely ladies who were sitting next to us and guess what? One of the ladies was diabetic.I asked her if she lchf-ed and a good going discussion followed during the interval. She had lost 4stones!!! following lchf and had "turned her life around" We then compared our sparkly tops and dangly earrings. Funny how having diabetes makes friends of strangers @debrasue you would have loved her
Yep, she sounds like my cup of tea too, Anna! :)

You softy @penfold! Must admit I get completely caught up in the musicals too my lovely DIL cried at the end of Wicked when the "wicked" witch and scarecrow had to go into exile. As an ex amateur dancerI loved the dancing in Chicago
Have you seen We Will Rock You? That's a great show, too.

Good Morning my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

I am posting this update from P.C 5 in Tate South Lambeth Public Library to inform you that I'm okay in myself and although I ate a lot of Pork Chops yesterday, consumed sugary tea this morning and had a blood glucose reading of 7.2 millimoles per litre this morning at 9:51 Ante Meridian, I am very well.

I saw my Occupational Psychotherapist yesterday at the Community Mental Health Team and she is completing a F.A.C.E assessment to assess my physical and mental capacity and to determine my eligibility for more supported accommodation, I think that will be a Warden-Controlled Property with a Concierge. My Community Mental Health Team don't think I'm safe in my current abode. It's a very high-crime locality with an excess of illicit substance suppliers and substance abusers and other undesirables. It's a very deprived area even with the up and coming Portuguese population prevalent in it. My Consultant Psychiatrist and other members of my Multidisciplinary Team feel that's no place for someone on the Autistic Spectrum.

I feel very happy at present although I am susceptible to moderate osteoarthritic mobility problems and urinary incontinence as well as a strong susceptibility to severe Self-Neglect.

Thank you for being my friends and for your likes, hugs and encouraging comments.

Yours faithfully,

Johnny Baker

Hi, Johnny.
That's a pretty good BG reading considering you had sugar in your tea this morning, and pork chops are good - they won't increase your BG levels at all. You are clearly improving at managing your diabetes - well done!
I'm pleased to hear that your team are considering moving you to more supported accommodation - I'm sure that will make you feel much safer and happier.
Have a great day, Johnny, and stay away from that nasty sugar and carbs!
Hugs

Don't buy sugar Johnny. Most things increase your bgs so if anytime having low bg eat your next meal early. No need for most type2s to buy sugar. Type1s are different and other insulin dependant diabetics.
You are on tablets only so no more sugar buying please?

Good morning Johnny, I'm glad that you are being assessed for a move to more suitable accommodation. I think you will be much happier with a higher level of support and that will help you make better nutritional choices. The pork chops were a good choice (plenty of protein but very few carbohydrates) but the sugar was not a good choice! Good luck with your assessment, I hope it will be successful.

Good morning Johnny. So glad you are feeling well and thank you for letting us know you are ok.
The pork chops are a great choice much better than those chip butties.
Glad you are having an assessment for supported living. Hope it won't be too far from your friends.
Have a lovely day but remember to use sweeteners for you next cup of coffee.

Have you seen We Will Rock You? That's a great show, too.
Haven't seen that one yet I prefer the musicals which are heavy on dance eg "singing in the rain" rather than song eg "Priscilla Queen of the desert" both of which I loved. HaVe to wait until the touring versions get up to Scotland. Loved Queens music so will look forward to seeing We will Rock You
