Type 2 Life

Surely this age does not include peopel with diabetes does it ??
Morning sll @ patsy b. At our surgery before age made no difference, but this year it's changed, says over 65! Wonder if it's a new save money nhs thing?

Sorry I don't have a "winner" button Kevin.
Yep, I'll agree with that! I have to pop out soon, the DSS want me to do work experience at their office (!) so I have a meeting with the person who will be supervising me. Wish me luck!
Best of luck Barbara xx

Hi I'm back again just spoke to receptionist at surgery she said no, things haven't changed 65 or over, or anyone with disbetes, asthma , stroke etc then your entitled to flu Jab, but after being so ill last year don't think I want it this year. Have good day everyone

Well, that didn't go as expected! I was under the impression it was a meeting/interview but in fact it was an induction. There were half a dozen of us and we were shown to a meeting room where we were asked to read through a couple of documents about safety and security and answer questions about what we had just read. We were then told what team we were going to be working for and to start on Monday! Let's hope my housing association manage to sort out my water problem this afternoon or things could get interesting

Good grief!!! Keeping everything crossed for you- for the job and that the plumbing problem gets fixed today xx @Diamum5972
Argh! No such luck, after making a complete mess of my kitchen they now think it's the storm drain that's blocked up. That means they have to call in an outside contractor who can actually open the drain cover in my front yard. The reason why the water is so dirty is because it's coming from the gutter at the top of the block, if it is blocked up like they think all the dirt and yucky stuff is coming into my kitchen because it has nowhere else to go. The worse thing is, my cooker has been standing in this water for so long it's showing signs of electrical problems, the cooker light started flickering while I was cooking tea so now that's had to be switched off until the water is sorted out :(

Saw GP yesterday for the pain in my pelvis and was told definitely not scatica. I have Sacroiliitis. Inflammation of the sacroiliac joint in the pelvis. A form of arthritis? ??
I've joined my family in suffering arthritic pain. I'm on the same tablets as my mum but she is 67yr old. I'm not happy as I was hoping I'd skip it since I'm the only one with diabetes. :(

Your also joining the arthritic family on here to. Big hug to you Vicky.x

Thank you @tina_marie . I do feel part of a family here. There is no doubt.
I'm hoping I'm right in thinking it will come and go. Or is that it. Will I be in constant pain?
Depends on how good your pain relief is . What are you taking. Rons still on the usual . Although he did get to speak to his neurologist secretary today. They are going to be in touch about treatment for him. Hes been busy at work today . His BG dropped to 4 . Nearly hypo time . Hes in alot of pain with his hips . Plus his back.

He's given me Naproxen 2x500mg daily. I've taken my first one and its a bit nauseating. The co-codamol just took the edge off but agony as it was wearing off and every 4hrs. Probably overdosed.
I'm hoping tomorrow is more painless. That naproxen is only suppose to be taken temporary so I don't know what happens when I have to stop it?

Hope all you ladies and gents are ok and those of you who are not 100% hope relief comes soon

The type 1 threads are not as busy as type 2 and on the morning blood sugars thread hardly anyone posts

I miss you guys on here

I keep sneaking back lol

Just stay. I love you been here - where you belong! Anyone who objects will have to convince me the reason why. ;)

How have you been @Cumberland ?
Did you get your union to remind your manager of their duty of care of you being diabetic and protected under the disability act. They have to give you concensions compared to a none disabled person. In my experience even the union can confuse the disability line of defence. I hope you had a good rep. ;)

This article is worth reading @ickihun.
It lists possible causes and available treatments.
