There is a cure.. how come nobody does this?

Whilst I will agree we have no way (aside from an MRI scan) of knowing exactly how much fat or visceral fat we each have onboard, I am content it is accurate enough for me, provided I use it consistently and am reviewing my trends. To me it is irrelevant if I am 17% or 18% fat or whatever, but it is important to me if that 17% is increasing or decreasing. Similarly, with my visceral fat, which sits at 3 on a scale of 1-30.

I find it better to use one measure, with less frailty than two, where two frailty factors are in play.

We each do as we see fit.
What scale do you have? .. and that's a fact they aren't that accurate.. so I do the same as you and just measure the trend... going up or down..

Oh, hon, reality check. I utterly adore Star Trek and absolutely agree that it reflected the times, right down to being the first accepted (not the first) multi-racial kiss. I honestly can't say how important it was to me as I was growing up.

But, everything moves on. I'm trying to prevent a diagnosis and you're sorting out where your are and what best to do.

Ok, hon, I live with my diagnosis every day.

As was said.
'I need my pain'

And to be fair, if I see god, I'll be sure to ask 'What does God need with a starship?' if I get chance.
He'll get the reference.
And hopefully I'll get marshmallows and a stick for later.

There is no cure!
A better lifestyle that gives a more healthy life is what we are all striving for!
If you can control and keep your glucose levels where your body likes them, that is a battle won, it does not win the war!
Well done on your battle, but if you don't win the next battle, your health will suffer!
And all will be in vain, you will have had your Waterloo!

I might say that, if he just said he was a doctor and didn't have any qualifications.

That rules out 99.999% of us on this forum then.
Just unqualified diabetics, not doctors with diabetes.

Lol! What does fictional God need with me? I'll try to be kind of nice (not not well so far).

I cut my arm open once.
I had it stitched up, internally, and externally, it was bandaged, and had to heal.
Now, it's not in remission, it's healed, but if I cut it open again, it'll be just as bad I guess.

But for now, I believe it's cured, not controlled.
I don't believe one day my skin will slough off.

This isn't about controlling.. this is about reversing and eliminating... DID you read the study? Als this has NOTHING ago DO with diet...

You can basically rid yourself of the disease altogether..
Why don't you do a bit of research with real live diabetics and see what happens. Don't expect you will find any volunteers from this forum!

Sorry hon, I think you need to make your (fictional) peace with your fictional god.
Beating yourself up isn't healthy.

Put me down.
My mind is open to any ideas that can help others, even if I can't see a personal benefit.
Not all diabetics are the same mindset.

Yes, but we are not the ones with no experience of the disease or medical qualifications, telling the rest that it is our own fault we haven't cured ourselves with fasting, lifting weights, whatever.

Wow, you're really thinking about this. Self-harming is a very real problem, and unnecessarily restricting your diet is a symptom.

We all think about diet, more than we ought to. It's not terrible to be a stone or two overweight, as long as the trend is down.

Ha, sorry hon.
Poor communications from my side.
Me, and a job delivering milk on a hill in ice in winter.
Sadly, I was running, with glass, and it didn't go well!
But, after a trip to A&E, and, as usual, excellent care from the NHS, I was back at it shortly afterwards, complete with bandage, and working fingers!
I still have the scar on my wrist, but in spite of several severed tendons, I have a full set of working fingers to this date.

(I put my hand through a window once. Stupidly, shutting a door, I missed, and put my hand through the glass. So, working offshore, and going out the next day I spent a fortnight on a rig in the north sea, having flown out with my thumb and a lot of duct tape around it, rather than be a 'no show'. It turned out fine, but I never took my glove off!

I just looked, I still have the scar!

I'm relieved you're in fine fettle, sweetie! Take more care in future, silly thing. :)

I think I will pass on your ideas OP.... I don't want to be a muscle bound object... I prefer doing it the LCHF way. You carry on and enjoy your way...but please.. do not try to force feed us with the information you seem to have so industriously acquired. What works for you may work for you alone...have you ever considered that!

It may work for more of us.
Have you considered that?
