What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Today...

Breakfast: Mug of coffee with double cream

Elevenses: Another mug of coffee with double cream (enjoyed the first one so much I thought I'd have another)

Lunch: Avocado (whole one as they aren't very big)

Then a hospital appointment at 3pm (yes, on a SATURDAY) I have learned my lesson not to trust their promptness so will be taking a 9 bar just in case it runs over

Dinner: Mr C is cooking. Chicken Tikka and Lamb Tikka, a side curry that involves aubergines and cauliflower rice cooked in ghee with garlic and coriander

Snack: Wine and maybe some more wine and maybe even a G'n'T (or maybe not) ;)

Still struggling after my very high carb holiday Macaroni cheese pie & chips anyone?! No i didn't, but it was on the menu. But ate more carbs than usual, and it seems to have given me the munchies :(

Friday

B: None
5km on the treadmill
L: Mini steak & salad
S: Peanuts (200g)
D: Turkey Mole
S: More nuts, cheese & celery

Thursday
breakfast - porridge
lunch - stir fried cabbage with bacon, red peppers and garlic
dinner - nice beef quarterpounder and mediterranean style veg.

Friday
breakfast - porridge
lunch- slice of lidl roll with pesto and cheese
snack - remains of the coffee jelly pud.
dinner - much later than usual because the car electrics died and we had to be recovered :arghh:
so instead of the dinner I had planned we had scrambled eggs (2 nice fresh farm eggs each) on a slice of high grain toast with bacon, mushrooms and a couple of those cherry tomatoes, it was quick and very tasty :)

B - cheese omelette
L - cheese salad
D - 5hr lamb, cauli, broccoli, leeks, cabbage and brussels (others having roast taties, parsnips and Yorkshire puddings) followed by a few berries with cream (others having choice of woodland strudel + custard) all washed down with a glass of wine

It will be interesting to see what dinner does to the BG and the FBG tomorrow morning!

Good evening all,

B. Full English breakfast

L. Coffee with cream (still full from breakfast)

D. Roasted Mediterranean vegetables with cheese and a chunk of ham

Snacks non as of yet but red wine may count as my fruit for the day :)

Sounds like an excellent plan. Nowt wrong with a drop of wine - a man after my own heart!!!

You know, we are Nandoless around here.
I am getting curiouser and curiouser though.
Oh yes, just looking at their website - how strange when there are so many other restaurants down your way. Nearest one is possibly my nearest one? https://www.nandos.co.uk/eat/restaurants/all

TBH, I wouldn't bother - just go get yourselves a rotisserie chicken from Morrisons, a bag of salad leaves and a bottle or two of their sauces. :)

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs

Lunch - roast lamb, cauliflower, broccoli, with the meat juices for gravy

Dinner - cold lamb, half an avocado, 7 baby plum tomatoes

Grandson swimming this morning and couldn't be bothered cooking between bringing swimming stuff back and going out again for shopping. A better day today - bed on 5.8 , FBG 7 and 6.3 pre Brunch
B/L pack of M&S calamari with cracked black pepper. Mini of cheddar and edam and one slice of M&S smokehouse chicken. 3 walnuts.
D. Salt and Chilli chicken with crispy skin and stir fried mixed veg.
I think I may even have a wee prosecco.

Well, so much for the hospital visit. Came out of our drive, turned right, turned left, turned left and the car started flashing urgent emergency messages on the dash board. Stopped car, looked under the bonnet, tried to start it again - nothing. Phoned RAC and told two hour. So walked home (8 mins) and had a LARGE G&T. Went back when nice mechanic man phoned to say he would be 10 minutes and was told it was something called the alternator. Looking at £300 to fix it! :( :( He followed us home and laughed when it was so close (8 mins by road, 2 mins as the crow flies). So I had another G&T. Hospital were great though (because I phoned as soon as we broke down) - just waiting for a new appointment now.

Mr C is treating his (car) misery with my 90% Chrimbo choc. Me: G&T Him: Chocolate - isn't this the wrong way round???

My husband is a Gooner :)

Oh no! Bad news about the car! Only good thing was it meant you could get home and have that drink. :)

@maglil55 how are you feeling? Did that sore throat get worse?

We had the DD rutabaga fritters with smoked salmon. I must admit that i wasnt looking forward to these. Swede doesnt really float my boat. Plus i was supposed to use halloumi, and i forgot. Just automatically reached for the grated cheddar instead (unconscious desire to avoid all that grating?).

Very pleasantly surprised! Loved the fritter and salmon combo. Sort of cheesy fishy cake things.

Haven't had a bad recipe yet.

Leftover sausages from last night's bbq dinner made into a sandwich, gunna get a "great" bgl reading in 90 minutes time. :meh:

Pot luck for lunch.

Steak and pumpkin chips for dinner is on the menu so far.

Hello
B. Summer fruits with yoghurt

L. Lauren's fluffy biscuit with 4 fried egg yolks on. Delicious. This was like a bread roll but shaped like a muffin. I found the recipe today and wanted to try it. As you use 4 egg whites in the 'biscuits' I had the 4 yolks leftover. It only worked out at 6g of carb which I thought was great for basically a bread roll but made with ground almonds.

D. Smoked haddock, asparagus tips and parsley sauce.

Today is a bit better

L: Mackerel and salad
S: Not so many nuts as yesterday
D: Courgetti bolognese and salad 2 sq of 90% choc
A small beer and 2 glasses wine

Just hope I can keep away from the kitchen between now and bedtime

Edit: No pomegranate @mo53?

It's not worse but not better either. I feel better once I have a morning cough. Took Chook's advice and got Ricola sugar free sweets which are a help. BG improving though.
