No problems with BG after this so ok for a packed lunch if necessary :)

Think chopped tomatoes may be off the menu ... I had eaten all the other ingredients before but I'm up at 8.8 two hours later from 7.3. Of course it may be work related stress (about three reams of A4 paper to read and make sense of before next Thursday) but I assume wrestling with that would have raised my pre dinner level.

I need it! And it may help with the BGs!

People who think they know everything.
I've got to send that chocolate one to Mr C @Brunneria

Breakfast: minute mug cake, raspberries and full fat Greek yoghurt

Lunch: Not sure - whatever I can find in my (now) very full fridge - Asda delivered yesterday

Dinner: Mr C is cooking and doing tapas - he's planned various small dishes: prawns with lemon and garlic, chicken and red pepper, pork skewers with a balsamic reduction, an aubergine baked in red wine dish, something to do with a monkfish fillet and a green salad.

I'm not being cruel - he likes cooking (yes, I know I'm lucky). :)

Dishonesty lies and thieves and online Bullies!!!
Yesterday
B: bacon and egg and a not-too-sweet cafe hot choc
L: tiny salad and a gluten free goat's cheese and red pepper tart - which was delicious. We had just been scrambling over a long, very rough and nearly vertical footpath dog walk, and I figured my bg needed the GF pastry, and my post-exercise lowered insulin resistance could cope. Too slow to kick in though, so I had a hot choc too, which hit the spot nice and quickly. Mr B had been starting to look worried. :) It has been quite frustrating this week without a bg meter, and going back to the old days of guesstimating reactive hypoglycaemia hypo risks. Exciting times... I suspect I have been running too high sometimes, mainly through too much 70% choc. Haha!
D: leftover dietdoc chicken and veg bake, with mustard and sour cream

Today
B: coffeesubstitute and cream
L: motorway burgerking, minus bun and only eating 6 chips. I could have eaten everything including the packaging, so I think I deserve mucho brownie points.
D: will be dietdoc baked fish and broccoli.

May try reducing my choc intake slowly, rather than trying to go cold turkey ;)

Back to normal food, normal eating times, and normal (lower) exercise levels now, plus access to bg testing. So back to reality. :)

Happy for you you seem to have had a rough ride of late! K

B: coffeesubstitute and cream
L: smoked mackerel fillet, chia bar (16g carbs) and 2 squares of 70% choc. Bit of a bump on the bg from that! But still acceptable levels. Only had it because we were going to have a very late dinner, with friends over, and i needed to stay human, and capable of speech. Which it achieved.
D: baked mackerel (tiny portion!) green beans and broccoli spears, with curried mayo. 6 raspberries and cream. Not really enough. At home i would have had abought 4x the veg...
Chia bars, I love those!

OK today has been a good day. Bed on 6.9 up to 7.3 which on my recent mornings is great. Went for a fast breakfast. Cooked and sitting in 15 mins and pre breakfast BG was 9.3 in 15 mins. Never mind it came back down again and stayed down
B. Usual 2 scrambled eggs and 2 rashers crispy bacon with wilted spinach and a couple of button mushrooms. A 1 oz piece of Prima Donna Maturo cheese
L. Mini applewood smoked and 2 walnuts.
D. Invented something. Stir fry beef, 1/2 pack of M&S pea shoot stir fry, cauliflower rice to thicken it , a paste I made with lemon grass, lime zest , red chilli, ginger , coriander and paprika. Mixed in coconut cream to taste. Was rather nice and used up some stuff I had.
Since @Chook planted it in my mind I also had 1 square of Lindt 90% Excellence. I shall go to bed dreaming of 99 and 100%.

Lovely food. :)

What did you think of the courgetti - I've only done it once and it came out so watery it's kind of put me off?

@Chook try having the courgetti raw. First time I had it it came out very watery when I cooked it. Now I make sure I really heat the bowl it's going into and then "warm" it in the bowl before adding the sauce. Means the sauce also stays warm longer. Much nicer and a bit of bite.

Away from home and quite pleased with what I found today.

Breakfast - hotel buffet. Scrambled eggs, 2 rashers of bacon and 1 sausage. Snaffled a couple of small pieces of wrapped cheddar to keep in the mini bar in the room, in case of need. It's one of those minibars where you only have to move something to be charged, so carefully balanced the cheese on top of a couple of cans.

Lunch - trusty Nando's. 5 plain chicken wings with side salad and a bit of coleslaw.

Dinner - bunless burger at Byron with side salad, aioli and courgette fries. The fries arrived covered in batter (not mentioned on menu), so had to send them back and get a batterless portion. Surprisingly good.

Weird weird weird. Many will be aware of the running battle I have with DP. I thought I knew what my weird body was up to but today has flummoxed me yet again.
Bed on 7 up FBG 8.5 (been worse) pre breakfast 7.4? Not complaining but still weird.
B. Complete change. Slice roast pork and slice rare roast beef. 3 Vittoria tomatoes, romaine lettuce, boiled egg, teaspoon of bacon bits, couple of bits of chargrilled pickled zucchini and yellow pepper. Bit of the glorious Prima Donna Maturo and the Murcia al vino cheese. Finally a couple of walnuts.
L. Above was lunch too!
D. Chicken supreme with herb butter, cauliflower mash, steamed mixed greens . Will probably have a sugar free jelly and cream.
Hubby still recovering from me not having scrambled eggs but that cheese was speaking to me
Happy mothers day

Yesterday:
B: out - so bacon and eggs, herb tea
L: leftover baked fish and broccoli dietdoctor meal. have decided that this is the first DD recipe I haven't loved. Actually, will go further. Didn't like it at all. Especially reheated next day for lunch! :( Had a couple of squares of 70% choc, just to clear the palate, you understand.
D: ummm... kind of forgot. Then Mr B got his fruit salad out and I filched 1 chunk pineapple, 2 slices of apple, 2 grapes and a large strawberry, and smothered them with double cream. Delish. BG rose by 1.5 at its peak, so pleased about that.

Today:
B: kipper and scrambled egg, and nothing to drink. Weird. Had a whole conversation with the waitress about berry herb teas, and picking my flavour, then she brought PG Tips caffeinated. Surreal. They were snowed under though (Mothers Day), so I forgave her. Wonder who ended up with my tea?
L: nowt
D: will be whatever is in the fridge with the shortest date. :D

The weirdness continues. I'd tested at 6.7 pre dinner but then hubby decided he didn't want dinner just yet so I had a coffee and a solitary McVities dark chocolate digestive thin. Get the dinner on the go, just tested again pre dinner and it's gone down again to 5.9 in under an hour.

Note to self - this does not mean you can feast on McVities Thins.
