No problems with BG after this so ok for a packed lunch if necessary
Think chopped tomatoes may be off the menu ... I had eaten all the other ingredients before but I'm up at 8.8 two hours later from 7.3. Of course it may be work related stress (about three reams of A4 paper to read and make sense of before next Thursday) but I assume wrestling with that would have raised my pre dinner level.
I need it! And it may help with the BGs!
I want one of those, but in beer please.
I love both protocols -will definitely have to remind my other half about Mr B'sThis is my crutch at the moment

and this is Mr B's emergency protocol

not that I actually have anything to growl about...
I want one of those, but in beer please.
Just had a cheese and black olive omelette for breakfast.
Yesterday
B: bacon and egg and a not-too-sweet cafe hot choc
L: tiny salad and a gluten free goat's cheese and red pepper tart - which was delicious. We had just been scrambling over a long, very rough and nearly vertical footpath dog walk, and I figured my bg needed the GF pastry, and my post-exercise lowered insulin resistance could cope. Too slow to kick in though, so I had a hot choc too, which hit the spot nice and quickly. Mr B had been starting to look worried. It has been quite frustrating this week without a bg meter, and going back to the old days of guesstimating reactive hypoglycaemia hypo risks. Exciting times... I suspect I have been running too high sometimes, mainly through too much 70% choc. Haha!
D: leftover dietdoc chicken and veg bake, with mustard and sour cream
Today
B: coffeesubstitute and cream
L: motorway burgerking, minus bun and only eating 6 chips. I could have eaten everything including the packaging, so I think I deserve mucho brownie points.
D: will be dietdoc baked fish and broccoli.
May try reducing my choc intake slowly, rather than trying to go cold turkey
Back to normal food, normal eating times, and normal (lower) exercise levels now, plus access to bg testing. So back to reality.![]()
Chia bars, I love those!B: coffeesubstitute and cream
L: smoked mackerel fillet, chia bar (16g carbs) and 2 squares of 70% choc. Bit of a bump on the bg from that! But still acceptable levels. Only had it because we were going to have a very late dinner, with friends over, and i needed to stay human, and capable of speech. Which it achieved.
D: baked mackerel (tiny portion!) green beans and broccoli spears, with curried mayo. 6 raspberries and cream. Not really enough. At home i would have had abought 4x the veg...
Lovely food.
What did you think of the courgetti - I've only done it once and it came out so watery it's kind of put me off?
The weirdness continues. I'd tested at 6.7 pre dinner but then hubby decided he didn't want dinner just yet so I had a coffee and a solitary McVities dark chocolate digestive thin. Get the dinner on the go, just tested again pre dinner and it's gone down again to 5.9 in under an hour.Weird weird weird. Many will be aware of the running battle I have with DP. I thought I knew what my weird body was up to but today has flummoxed me yet again.
Bed on 7 up FBG 8.5 (been worse) pre breakfast 7.4? Not complaining but still weird.
B. Complete change. Slice roast pork and slice rare roast beef. 3 Vittoria tomatoes, romaine lettuce, boiled egg, teaspoon of bacon bits, couple of bits of chargrilled pickled zucchini and yellow pepper. Bit of the glorious Prima Donna Maturo and the Murcia al vino cheese. Finally a couple of walnuts.
L. Above was lunch too!
D. Chicken supreme with herb butter, cauliflower mash, steamed mixed greens . Will probably have a sugar free jelly and cream.
Hubby still recovering from me not having scrambled eggs but that cheese was speaking to me
Happy mothers day
Note to self - this does not mean you can feast on McVities Thins.
