Website Response times

I don't think this would have any benefit.

I expect the issue is the number of threads and the large number of users who have posted to lots of threads and therefore have a watch setup on them. This needs to be solved by the company (I expect https://xenforo.com/) that wrote the forum software and/or the company that hosts the software.

@Administrator What is the hosting setup?

Now, interestingly for a long time notifications either by email or on site have been skipping? This mainly corolates with the larger, longer running threads.. For instance I may get a notification of a reply by a member, but not from posts successive to my addition to the thread from other members. The notification just seems to pick a random member about half a dozen posts after mine. (In one case.)
Clicking on the notification. The thread page fails to load...

I do find clearing my browser history helps!

@Jaylee if you are talking about the alerts, you are lucky you can even get to see them! When the site is being a tortoise I can see I have some alerts in the little flag thing, (top right) but when I click nothing happens - the loading clog goes round for a while then stops.

However, I have just noticed this same problem you are having. I found your post from the Recent Posts page. Having looked back at the previous half dozen or so posts, I received no alert at all for them and would have missed them completely had I not looked at the Recent Posts page.

I am constantly having to log back in even though I have ticked the 'stay logged' in box. This happens frequently when I try to change from looking at one thread to another.

Use Ipad. Often when I am typing the text doesn't appear, or the page moves upwards and cursor stops or disappears.

These problems are not occuring elsewhere on other websites.

I do appreciate being able to access the Low Carb Programme, since DCUKMod reported my details to tech folks, who solved the problem. Thank you.

Agree with jaylee and bluetit. I am not receiving all alerts.

When that happened to me, a long time ago now, I solved it by clearing all my cookies and cache.

We have isolated an issue with the caching and so expect refreshing the cache to solve the problem. Refreshing/building the cache is something that slows the forum down so we are in the process of doing this incrementally as to not absolutely effect access/use of the forum. Will send more information as it comes!

Very slow this morning 5.30 am UK time - hard to get on to the forum, slow loading notifications, slow posting reactions to posts, slow to post.

Mine only working if I use phone not tablet and keep rotating to side view (horizontal) rather than axial view.
It seems to activate the send command better?

For those with some spare time and a technical bent, Google "web page performance" and try one of the many free performance monitors available.

It shows where the holdups occur and even finding all our avatars when building a page can take several seconds. I tried https://tools.pingdom.com/ and although I can't sort the problem out, I found the report produced fascinating.

Edit. This message has taken several minutes to post. System virtually unusable at 06:45. Maybe time to replace the trusty old ZX80 (81) LOL

Interesting what you say about the "avatars". (Profile pictures.) What I've experienced with slow page loading experience when it eventually manifests, is "compressed" or missing profile pics from members who use them.. (Apple safari, iPad .)

Logged in about the same time with no issue, However, prior to this refreshing the forum page before the log in was slow..
I kept getting the little black box that you get when it's going slow and then the screen reverted to the log on page...again and again and again and.....
