I have a nut bar for breakfast.
And I have meat and vegetables for main meal, but I need something mid afternoon and evening to snack on.Diced pepper and celery are not enough that I keep in kitchen to pick on any idea please friends.

cheese, cheese, and more cheese. a lettuce leaf with a roll of ham and mayo in

but seriously, getting out of the habit of snacking is the key. its hard, but maybe try to go longer and longer without a snack? and drink water in between meals.

I try not to snack, but I always have a piece (or two) of 85% chocolate after my dinner. If I really need something else to eat I will have strawberries and yoghurt/cream but I'm still trying to lose weight so try not to!

A nut bar? Seriously?
Breakfasts this week have been half a bag of salad, plus tomato radishes celery half a box of coleslaw plus either eggs or a tin of tuna or a round of mozzarella cheese or grated Leicester cheese or some left over beef. I sometimes have kippers and a Lidl protein roll, or smoked fish and cauliflower.
I do have a hot drink mid to late afternoon, coffee with cream or mint and licorice tea.
I eat first thing, and then don't need anything all day until I have meat or fish and veges at night, sometimes followed by berries and cream.

It's a gluten free nut bar only 5 carbs and 214 calories so it is ok till mid afternoon and after tea....

I have just discovered Lindt 90% and Montezuma 100% dark chocolate and I'm having trouble controlling the urge to eat too much of them, due to a previous long period of chocolate deprivation. I'm amazed and delighted to find how much the carb content goes down with just a 5 or 10% increase in the cocoa level. (I expect that this is blindingly obvious to those who, unlike me, have some grasp of elementary maths.)

We are not all the same. If I go much longer than 4 hours without eating I risk a rise in bg. So my solution is ... yes, cheese, cheese and more cheese! I never leave the house without it.

I seriously doubt if it has enough fat and protein to keep you full all the day. What brand is it?
Its lidl I don't expect it to keep me satisfied all day but it does me till 2 pm and I like to have main meal then as evenings I do nothing really.I was in lidles the other day and just needed something, Don't eat fruit or cakes but got some choc drop biscuits silly really, just got some comfort eating probs I think, but am going through something difficult at the moment.

I agree, my limit is about 5 hours, except over night. I always have snacks in my bag :hungry:

I think your sweet tooth will only get cured if you don't eat sweet stuff. If you feel the need to snack mid afternoon I think that may mean you need more fat/protein at lunch.
I do sometimes have a little PiP 'n' Squeak nut butter sachet (Holland and Barrett) or make a bulletproof coffee (blend butter/coconut oil and coffee in a Breville or similar) Another thread even suggested marmite and butter blended with boiling water not coffee though! Try asking for that in Starbucks!

If your not needing to lose weight there are lots of lovely low carb cakes and snacks to make - I don't have a sweet tooth and have to watch ALL calories or I don't lose weight or I can even gain so I don't snack

There are things called mug cakes that take minutes in the microwave but I have never made them. We are all different and if a sweet low carb snack is what you need to keep you on track then have it - we all deal with this thing differently- I will tag @Brunneria as I know she has some mug cake recipes :)

I am afraid I need to lose a lot of weight and I am going through a difficult time at the moment so think I have some comfort eating going on, I was writing a post and lost it here somewhere.
I am fearful of eating fat, cream and lots of protien as I have stage three kidney disease. My readings are good or were yesterday at 4.2 for the first time ever because I ate very little, on Wednesday, it was half a haddock burger and salad and vegetables little cheese and potato and a curry and rice small portion. I wonder is that the answer???

You do not have to be deprived on a low carb diet. I'm now eating a rhubarb fool.. no real cooking and made in minutes.

150g full fat cream cheese
250g double cream
Sweetener of choice.. I use one tablespoon of sucralose
Few drops vanilla essence
Two good handfuls of chopped rhubarb ( I get the frozen rhubarb from Farmfoods )

Simmer the rhubarb in a couple of tablespoons of water until soft and leave to cool.

Put all the other ingredients into a bowl and whisk together until just firm. Add half the rhubarb and carry on whisking until stiff.
Fold the rest of the rhubarb in gently and divide into six glasses or bowls. (I like the larger pieces in there but you can whisk it all in if you don't want it chunkier)

I've also made it with a fresh lemon.. juice and zest . I did it with frozen raspberries last week too.

This is also excellent http://www.diabeticgoodbaking.com/2015/01/chocolate-mousse.html

And some great ideas here https://draxe.com/low-carb-desserts/

You are right, I expressed myself badly. I meant eating sufficient of the good stuff, rather than snack type foods.

Try sucking it like its a sweetie, each square will last longer. And the taste is more intense.
Mastication is not the answer and you could go blind. ;)
