I'll also be keeping my fingers crossed for you @porl69 also good choice of pump (not just because I have one) but as you've said it has the auto suspend function.

Personally I can't see them refusing you on this, but even if they do push push push, you have to be really pushy to get access, I was refused first time, second time accepted, probably to shut me up..
Thank you @Juicyj. I am REAL pushy anyway. I was refused on the last pump meeting as I was not on Fiasp insulin! And was not on the Libre!!! An not under the pump consultant! Bearing in mind I have been on the Libre since January and on Fisap for the last 2 months GRRRRR!!! They have just moved me over to the pump consultant in the last 2 months as well. Only thing going against me is that I have not seen any of the DSNs recently BUT I have had regular appointments with the dietitian and she can't really see any problems with that

Fingers crossed for you @porl69 - can I ask what the criteria are for you? I’m South Wales as well, but haven’t been able to find them online. Hoping for a pump myself when I go in September, once they see that at certain times of the month (so 25% of the time) I’m having to take up to 15 correction jabs a day!

@kev-w “Vesta” :D :D :D Please don’t combust, though...

@Cumberland good luck at the dentist x

High sevens through the night, this hot weather is making me a bit insulin resistant for the first year ever. Before I went low carb I’d crash at the drop of a hat, wonder if the less carbs/less insulin is making a difference to that? So I didn’t correct, in case I crashed. Woke up at 8.9, so took my usual DP correction ratio (2.5u in this case) and am down to mid sixes now. Another scorching day in the shed, polishing and enamelling a silver pendant...

Stay well, friends x

I am hypo unaware VERY hypo unaware and the 640G can suspend basal in the case of a detection of a downward trend of the Enlite sensor

Surely you meet the NICE criteria for having sensors - being 'VERY' hypo unaware?

Another scorching day in the shed,

people pay good money to sit in a scorching hot wooden hut! Do you have a kids paddling pool as a plunge pool?!?

Hacked off this morning...
12.1 at 5.30am...I've been a bit too low this last 2 mornings so had a bit extra to eat last night.
Now look and to cap it off I've taken extra insulin and 3 hours on I'm still 7.9.

Happy times and places

Tony

Got to lunchtime and I was 6.0.
I don't do much lunch generally but I hadn't eaten today and my wife was at home.
She asked
"do you want some salad or a bacon sandwich?"

I laughed that hard I nearly wee'd

All the best

Tony

@porl69 https://www.diabetes.co.uk/blog/2016/02/nice-cgm-guidelines-what-do-they-mean/ as a start. I'm trying to remember the name of the 'group' that helps people fight their corner for diabetic kit............it'll come to me in the middle of the night.............Someone help me out!

EDIT: found it, INPUT! https://www.inputdiabetes.org.uk/

Thank you @slip looks like I meet the criteria!

Good afternoon all and sundry. ( do you get it??? SUNdry:))
Average day, nothing spectacular.
I have been bitten on my leg by some annoying little creature, which as resulted in a GP visit to get a prescription for some steroid cream. It's not the first time I've had this and doubt it'll be the last.
Going gym soon with my rather larger right lower leg:):):):):):).
@Cumberland . Hope the dentist went easy on you.

@kev-w . Hope the head has survived.

@porl69 . Hope it's good news with the pump.

Ah, sorry! My bad. Can’t think straight today... although if you can get Libre but not the proper CGM, the MiaoMiao is good. I’ve now got alarms on my watch using it :)

If I can't get the CGM funding I was looking at the MiaoMiao. Thank you for looking up the info for me as well :)

@Fairygodmother, @Mel DCpUSER] & @therower

The dentist was due to extract 2 teeth but because I had a hypo at 5am this morning they asked me test before doing anything I was 5.4 they talked and decided not to extract but book me back in for July

They said the injections would not wear off for up to 4 hours and had advised me not to eat until numbness had gone

So they asked if I was ok with a scale and polish instead so not to waste the appointment, which I agreed too.

So I’m ok thanks

Things are very quiet around here. Good to hear you have a nice reliable optician @Knikki

I'm trying for another day of staying inside, or below, the freestyle libre target range. This can be done these days, if I have a really good start to the day, as my afternoons are usually low, and evenings mostly, unless I do something silly. I think it must be something about me, I've seen other people talking about their afternoons being high. I found the same with Lantus, and I thought when I swapped to Levemir, it would change, but it didn't, so I've decided it must be me.

I wonder what my cells think, they must think they are in the wrong body. It's cheating a bit though, because my freestyle libre tends to read a bit lower than my blood tests, so I'm not testing unless I go very low.

I've had a few hours Libre free this afternoon as it expired and I didn't get chance to wash the sun lotion off till this evening, 4.4 on a finger stick, about 100g carbs for tea and maybe .5u too much bolus but a rich tea biscuit will take care of that. Basal next and my sensor should have warmed up by supper, I seem to be lucky and get fairly accurate Libre readings, I've had one so far leave a little rash and was sore, but only the one.

You feel a little daft when you scan both arms on autopilot only to realise there is no sensor :p
