What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all hope everyone has that kinda Peaceful Easy Feeling inspired by this weather - yep transported back to summer of 76 at Uni and Eagles on a loop:angelic: 5.4 today on 4th day of no Metformin. Not a success but below the 5.5 I was told 3 years ago was a threshold (100 in mg/dl). Not a great period to judge on though as fitbit weekly data confirms the hot weather has impacted steps and hrs exercised. Anyhow, Take It easy:angelic: we don't need any Depserados in here:banghead:

Just don't take it to the limit anymore times hehehehe

Have a good one folks thanks to @ianpspurs I might just play a little Hotel California where like diabetes you can check out , but never leave and because I'm still alive, Joe Walsh's Life's been good.
Joe Walsh, there's a name to take me back:) Many of your posts are On the border @alf_Josiah but lets hope England win tonight then there will be many a Tequila sunrise. Let's just hope they don't lose or we will have the The All Night Laundry Mat Blues:angelic::angelic:

We both know that the stairods ( steroids ) raise blood sugars so....
What would your blood sugars have been if you weren't mainlining stairods ?
God only knows But I have a good idea and not so sure I like it. mind you I seem to be swinging between hyper and near hypo all the time of late. Making me dizzy.

Dizzy,
I'm so Dizzy, my head is spinning
Like a whirlpool, it never ends

And to think I used to like roller coaster rides.

good day everyone :)

was 4.4 this morning

bit late posting today :sorry:
we're still waiting for hot water, plumber came yesterday afternoon and thinks the boiler fault is because of a control panel circuit board and will, hopefully, be back later today with the relevant bit.
Got some strimming done yesterday whilst waiting and we're raking up today (don't want to waste the good weather ;))

@ianpspurs - rum and raisin has a base of 1 cup double cream, 1 cup full fat yoghurt (I like the slightly tangier result it gives rather than using all double cream), 1 cup almond milk and sweetener to taste all stirred together until the sweetener has dissolved.

For the rum and raisin bit I had sultanas so I soaked them overnight - first put 28g of sultanas into 2 tbsp of hot brewed tea with no milk ( to add a bit of tannin because I only had sultanas) , when that had cooled I added 2 tbsp rum - I used Capt. Morgan's spiced. next day before I added them to the mix I put in a couple of drops of vanilla, a tsp of lemon juice and another 2 tbsp of rum.
Put the base into the machine and add the 'raisin' mix just before it's finished churning.

Flavour and texture were good, (of course, mr. gee would like more raisins ;) so next time I'll make more of the rum and raisin mix and spoon some over the top of his portion of the ice cream).

according to my spreadsheet 1/8 of the recipe is about 190cals and 5.1 g of carb. with that amount of raisins.

@geefull I already knew you were a superstar but passing on that recipe with tips as well - above and beyond. Then you top it off with strimming. Mr Gee must have been living the dream from the day you two got together:angelic::angelic::angelic:

@karen8967 good night sleep well.

I'm off to bed in a while blood sugars an hour ago or so where getting on for nine point something now bed time reading 4.9 bit of a drop should I have some carbs or leave it well enough alone I wonder.

I think a few grams of carb are called for. I am going to have to be a bit careful of the Co-trimaxozole.

Been up and down and all over the place today. From 3.6 to 8.8 and no real rhyme or reason why.
Low carb all day. No particular factors I can point to. I know it’s all part of the rich tapestry of a T2D life, but going to bed feeling less in control than I did yesterday. Just when you think you are winning.....
