What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.6 today tantalisingly close to the 100 mg/dl I was first set as a target so totally unhelpful as to whether to resume Metformin or not:arghh: Swimming lessons for useless old duffers start again today then baby sitting 2 grandchildren in Suffolk and delivering eggs and apples to our 2 boys who live there. @Moggely I can feel the joy from here:woot::woot:

Good morning everyone I didn’t post last night as I had a very bad headache and a bit of dizziness so I took my BG which was 7.5 got into bed and went straight to sleep. McDonald’s didn’t seem to affect my blood sugar although I was a bit high beforehand at 12.0 so I gave a unit of novorapid. This mornings BG is 4.2 not sure if that’s good or bad considering I feel a bit low. Have a good day all

Good morning all. 5.3 today. Very low carb for past 2 days, will stick with that for a week, then push to get into ketosis. Sunny here, ideal for a long walk.
Hugs to @Cumberland, you seem to to be on a BS trampoline at the moment, hope it smooths out.
Hope everyone else is well, have a great day.

Another ugly start at 7.1. Second in three days in the 7s. And yesterday despite starting in the 5s my mid morning post egg score was 8.4.
Not sure what is going on.
Going to stick to the plan and hopefully just a bit of volatility that will settle down.

Morning All. 6.1 at 0800. Maybe tum bug isnt finished yet has a very safe and restrained day of food. Made my favoured Low Carb Granola bars from Beauty and the foodie.com. They are very good and store well in a tin for up to 10 days. I used only 1 tabsp Xylitol (not 3 as they suggest) and use 1 tabsp Maple Syrup rather than Molases. Had another go at Coconut flour cupcakes flavoured with lemon essence and raspberries. What a sorry show for 3 eggs, 4 measly uninspiring cakes. Not tasted yet but I can honestly say me and covonut flour are over. Havent tried the ginger Flaxseed rolls yet as have a fridge full of normal ones. Love them!
Have a great day everyone. X

@PenguinMum I hope the tail end of storm Vera the virus disperses ASAP. re recipes, I/we find there are far too many (costly of time, ingredients and expectation) frogs to be kissed in LC/Keto land before any Earl or Duke is found never mind a Prince:arghh:

Vera the virus made me laugh! How are you and your unnamed virus though? You’re right about recipes, I cant stand food waste and coconut flour leads to rhat big time IMO. Oh but its great when you find something that works for you like the F/S rolls. Maybe if it aint broken dont fix it but I have a longing for gingerbread.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who follow the works of that great sage Spike Milligan here's a quick sample " chop sticks are reason why the Chinese never invented custard "

A 6.2 for me this morning.

Well folks behave yourselves tomorrow, today do as you please. Because I am. hehehehe

Good luck with Keto @Canvaspic, what level of carbs are you on per day? Are you looking at doing fasting as well as Keto?:)

6.2 again. In the 5s all day yesterday so not sure what this is about. A bit of DP creeping in. Which tells me maybe too many carbs???!!! I've not changed my diet but I did have a week away last week with different food which might not be quite as low carb as I thought. I have been routed to my dining table for about 6 weeks hardly walking at all. So today I will walk. And tonight I will drink lots of water (didn't want to do that as don't want to lose more weight as trying to maintain but I will eat a little more).

It's a fine art this diabetes malarkey!

Have a good day everyone.

6.2 for me this morning, diet did slip a bit yesterday but only 4.3 when i went up the wooden hill last night.
Hope everyone has a blessed day, i'm off to London this afternoon so will have to get my fix of warm flat beer - be interesting to see what impact that has.

oh ok @ianpspurs point taken and i am always willing to learn. But my point was, i would love to have some 5's and lower, maybe i never will. Who know, but to those that do..."congratulations" I envy you.:playful:
I have no idea how long you've been diagnosed Moggely...I do have 5's fairly regularly with my waking levels...it took me a while to get there...I approached my diabetes at a slow steady pace...like you I thought I'd never get there...once I did anything above a low 5 in the morning would put me in a spin...nowadays it doesn't...sometimes I think we can get fixated on our waking numbers in isloation...when what we should be looking at is our overall management...that's what matters ultimately.:)
