What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning all. 7.4 again this morning. :arghh: Off for my flu jab this afternoon. Seems ages since I made my appointment. Have been struggling with back pain for a few days so haven't been able to do much apart from my cross stitch which is to be part of a Christmas gift. Have a good day folks!:)
Hope you feel better soon.

good morning all :)

4.4 today

hmm I've managed to put on over a kilo in weight this week doing exactly the same as usual :( no predicting how this works is there!
Had a nice little walk with the wee dog yesterday and thinking I'll have a 'household' day today :) the weather is looking like a mix of wet and bright so far ;)

Hope your day goes well :)

5.5. Thinking of reducing my testing. Was diagnosed in July, and my BG steadily decreased at first, but I've been seeing the same numbers now for two months.
I was thinking the same. Then last night, I indulged in a food item whose impact I was not quite sure what it will end up as. It takes me about a week to know the full impact of those kind of forays. I aim for tight control, due in large part to my history of Obesity and strong family history of diabetes....I don't know how long I have been cruising around my life with IR. So I am keeping the 'barbarian' of complications well away from my gate.
For me long after the immediate BG impact there is then the Fasting BGL to watch....So I may have to wait till end of Nov to reduce my test frequency.

Had my annual review this afternoon with the Diabetic team Hba1c was 29, download from blood glucose machine was 85% of tests in the 4 to 8 range, only downside is the loss of hypo awareness which after 51 years of type1 good control is to be expected, all other blood results good.

Sounds like an excellent result other than the hypo awareness issue which must be very hard to cope with. Well done you, 51 years managing Diabetes should get a gold medal IMO.

Yes the hypo awareness is difficult but I'm getting the Dexcom G6 on Wednesday which alarms if you're going low or high, it will make a big difference for me , had my gold medal last year for 50 years, don't think it's real gold though lol.

You were missed this morning! Hope your weekend with all the young ones was fabulous. I bet you and Mrs P are exhausted though.
PS. I gather your team did you proud.
Very long story about this morning involving 5+ hr wait for recovery vehicle. Yesterday was so good. Lovely family meal and a Christmas tree decorated by a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Magical dog walk with that pair including feeding a troll minstrals so they could cross the bridge.
Edit: For anyone interested I will explain the troll story and dog walk to "heaven" sometime if people want.
