Regular moderate exercise log

not much today.

work at silly o'clock.
then home at 430pm...felt tired, so lay down for a minute honest, that was the aim.

woke at 10pm..:hungover:
not sure if rough or just tired..taken food down a notch this week,
so maybe just lacking a little energy.

plan is gym in the morning, before work in the pm...:)

There are a whole batch of interviews with forum members who went to the meet-up last year (some of us are still waiting for our turn in the spotlight):

Nice post @Goonergal
love all the links and presentations so far...look forward to yours GG.

Just watched AMANDA...interesting point re tendonitis..been a suffer for many years.
hoping that IS yet another positive side affect of this WOE..and reduces it as much as possible..

The dreaded deadlift session last night, hip still bothering me so worked up to a double on 180kg and thought my right leg had fallen off!! so did a set of 4 at 130kg and that was it. Slightly better than last week, so doing some research into what more I can do to solve the issue. 14wks till comp day.

Take care everyone.

@Emma_369 I loooove the squat jumps! Is “chicken fights” a game that’s played over there? More fun in the water, and anybody who can squat jump a 5 yr old would be an instant winner! And I will cheer you on for your swim challenge
@jjraak wow. You are clearly in good shape to be training for your 5K! Off to watch interview of DJC.
@DJC3 that is a very well spoken interview indeed! I enjoyed watching.

I am no lean mean fit machine, and I’ve been feeling like last week’s canned dog food all month. This morning I headed straight for the couch after bfast. Reading and resting, with happy cats. BGs up yesterday and today - not sleeping at all well, and/or coming down with something that takes over three weeks to reveal itself. Ugh.
But I must walk. Every night before bed. And then use my massage machine on each leg after I’m in bed. Or there will be leg cramps. Lying in bed awake is so much nicer without waiting for the next spasm.
Ok, got that self-pity out of my system. Thanks for being here.
So my walks have happened in the past few days that I forgot to visit here. Mostly about 2.5 miles, various speeds but nothing that anybody could call fast. At least I did them, right?

It’s the taking part that counts or so the saying goes and any form of getting up and doing activity, at any level, is a win in my eyes!
And yes chicken fights is a game I remember fondly from childhood - Come to think of it, not fondly actually as I never won :banghead:

@DJC3 that is a very well spoken interview indeed! I enjoyed watching.

Thank you kindly, the more our message gets out there, that we can help ourselves and not accept the chronic progressive scenario, the better. I was horribly nervous, hence the mixed metaphors at the beginning but if it encourages anyone else it’ll be worth it.

Yesterday was 9k steps and 20 mins weights workout.
Today it’s 13k steps and a 15 min interval workout with weights. Didn’t realise how hard my muscles had worked until I walked downstairs later and found my legs turned to jelly.

@Emma_369 so you and DD start chicken training now!!
@DJC3 you did not present as nervous, and I speak as a performing artist!
I felt better enough to run out and pick up an rx, and while there bought FIVE jars of almond butter with a digital coupon which was helpfully displayed with the shelf tag!
I think I will take a short walk now, then fix supper. Creamy tomato-y celeriac soup. Now if I had my birthday IP it would wash, peel, chop, and cook that celeriac in 10 minutes, right?
Then another little walk if I’m still standing.

Fell asleep before I had chance to post last night. 3 small circuits - a)because I was tired and b) because having started swimming and enjoying it I’ve realised how much I don’t enjoy these workouts :arghh:
Anyway, each circuit was
30 second plank
50 thigh crunches
10 sit ups with the hold for 10 seconds after no 5
10 squat jumps

Not long back from the pool - actually my 4th different local pool I’ve tried within the last 7 days and officially my favourite. And went by myself so first night of nobody to make sure I went or encourage me as I go (yes I sound like small child for needing that however motivating myself to exercise and keep going when I’m exhausted and want to stop is definitely an inner strength I’ve found that I didn’t know was there)

So I did 65 lengths, 1625 metres, just over a mile in 46 minutes. Good practice for the Swim22 challenge. Hip & shoulder annoyed me after 34 lengths but ploughed through and very glad I did. Feel good now I’m home although a little hungry and a BG or 3.8 so going to have me a handful of peanuts and a cup of tea and relax :)

Squats last night 15 sets in total and worked upto 150kg x3, but still need to dial in my "set up" so that it becomes automatic and I don't have to think about it. My hip is still a concern but my calf is now playing nice and isn't feeling like someone has shot me every time I walk!! also 10k steps yesterday, mostly trundling around the hospital and then after my wife's appointment, going and buying a couch!! We must be mad!!!

Take care everyone.

@zauberflote good to see you on here.

@Emma_369 you’re inspiring me to get swimming again. Started up in the summer - prompted by @DJC3 - and remembered how much I love it. Hasn’t seemed so appealing in the cold, but really should get back to it. Important to be doing exercise you enjoy - only chance of sustaining it long-term.

@ianpspurs good for you keeping at it despite your back problems (not meant to be as patronising as it sounds).

Bit inconsistent at the moment. Today was walking football, which turned out to be mostly running football. Women’s session today, mixed one tomorrow morning. 12.8k steps in addition. Yesterday was a paltry 8.5k steps and Thursday 10.8k.

Really need to get back to the gym, but with footie both weekend days it’s proving tricky.
