What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Aww thanks.jpg

Well blood draw and preliminary review went quite well was a bit iffy at first when I realised appointment was with a health care assistant but she was brilliant hardly felt a thing even though she had to make a few attempts as I have intelligent veins and they kept dodging the needle.
Seems she has had 19 years experience working in A&E at the local hospital.
She was quite exited when I told her I do LCHF and had done keto as well as I was the first person she had met who does apart from herself she did it to lose weight and all her colleagues thought she was crazy to do it. Her ketones at one point where in excess of 5.0
Also I was able to check my blood pressure reading on my fitness tracker against her reading and they though not exactly the same tallied very closely
Then I found I had an appointment with the Asthma clinic nurse right after my review appointment that did not go quite so well though the asthma nurse was quite pleasant still got the usuall lecture about being a smoker while asthmatic and being a myasthenic.
Though she did say she is going to ask the doc about giving me back my brown inhaler .
Going for a carvery this afternoon as a birthday treat.

edit sorry for longish post.

A 5.2 at 0730.
The day looks promising again. Sun, a little sea haze at present but that will burn of by 1000 I should think.
Great photo’s @jjraak
Hope you got loads of Lidl rolls @Debandez - where do we all meet?
Nice avatar @ianpspurs
@JohnEGreen, will you be making the montezuma chocolate cake in celebration or are you having a day off?
Well done everyone who woke up this morning with less fat cells in their body than they had yesterday - unless, of course, you need to be moving in the opposite direction.
Have a great day if you can, get your montezuma bars ready. I think that this is the recipe:

Day off I think will be in order as to whether I have cake or not remains to be seen.:)

Longish post...pish.

I WANTED to know the details..
Looks like it went ok..:D

(But Why would they not give you a brown inhaler ? )

good morning all :)

3.8 today

feeling ok, not had supper or breakfast because I'm off out to get my blood drawn for my 6 monthly HbA1c ;) fingers crossed.

Hope your day treats you well :)
Fingers crossed for you here but I don't think you need it your BS control is superb.:)

Doc took it off me as he thought too much steroids in my system already but as I take so much I don't think a little more would make much of a difference after all they have already done their worst making me diabetic.

Nope, not longish, we are dead noses.
I used to have a blue and a brown and then a purple inhaler - all very confusing and lots of excess luggage when on a motorcycle and not very effective.
My asthma nurse introduced me to a new powder inhaler last autumn. It’s called a Relvar Elliot’s 92/22 mcg with a dose counter on. It has been spot on for me. One dose in the morning and a quick rinse of my mouth and I am good to go.

I will lurk until I find an acceptable answer to the issue of how to eat a suitably LC diet that doesn't seize up my joints, make me totally sub-optimal at least once a month or leave me hungry most days. Until then testing won't actually tell me anything useful IMHO. The chilly nights are a pain in the whatsit for me sleep wise but glad they suit you.

I ate a few potatoes with my evening meal last night and was pleasantly surprised at my blood sugars this morning an ok for me 6.2.
Also this morning I felt full of energy.
I do a low carb and low fat diet, my medication means that I have a very difficult line to follow and what works for me, will probably only work for me and not anybody else.
Now the point I am badly trying to make is perhaps a diet with selective carbs Included might help plus a few vegatables for their mineral content.
Stay well and stay safe.

I did say I'm now 69 my blood pressure is "perfect" this morning 104/65 SpO2 at 95% heart rate resting in low 60's normally lower weight 73 kg fully clothed so apart from the asthma diabetes and myasthenia gravis I feel fine.

Thanks for the ideas @alf_Josiah. I think a dip into the what did you eat today thread would reassure you that I eat my veggies (the salad is my normal lunch) - just a pity they didn't help me to grow up to be a big strong boy:arghh: I can't seem to be able to replace the filling effect of carbs without feeling sick (cream, butter, weird baked goods) or my joints seizing up (meat, cheese, white fish). Best I can manage is drink a little tea now and again:angelic::angelic:

Another "Coke" problem -- I have read that The Coca-Cola Company sends out Coke spies to restaurants and other eateries because apparently at some places when a customer orders "Coke" they are actually served a Pepsi. "Coke" being a generic term for any non-diet cola around here.

Good morning to you Saskia and KC hottest Feb day on record here. Coca Cola have always treated Pepsi like an enemy yet they both have good followers and shift loads. Personally I prefer Pepsi (Diet version of course).

No not really. I detest wearing pyjamas and having covers on. I really liked the heat last summer due to the freedom. Thanks for the kind thoughts though.
Gosh thats a problem then. I love getting all snug in the covers of my bed and miss that in summer when no matter how hot it is I have to have at least a sheet over me. Maybe its down to my convent school education where the nuns drummed into us to always stay covered up lol.
