I'm sat eating Godiva chocolate, waiting for the storm clouds to gather. This is the most normal thing I've done today.

(I left out it was 85% dark 16 g/100g carbs, that I injected myself two units of insulin to cover it, then ran for 30 minutes. Normal? Well normal for me.)
 
Got my badge and am delighted. Can wear it for a bit today!! Magic

You have to make the assumption, obviously, that between fingerprick testing your blood sugar isn't doing any really crazy things, but I think that's a good target to set yourself, that isn't too stressful.

I tried to find the original tweet I saw, by an HCP, but they're all too busy talking about pensions and there was too much to wade through to find it.

Hi @Alison54321 oooh I do like those figures quoted above. Over the past year with my Libre and now nearly 6 months on the pump I am just about getting there. I have set a Libre range of 4.0--8.5 and I am in target about 65% of time. Downloaded the figures last night and for the range 4--10 I am in target 81% of time:happy::happy:.

I think the Libre has made a huge difference to my control and I am now happy to make small adjustments with food and insulin now. The pump makes it even easier to have better control as well.

Dont get me wrong I still have times where i will go above BG of 13 but that is just a blip and I take the necessary steps to bring it back in range. As long as we keep generally to BG 4--10 most of the time we should all be happy and a big well done to those that do:D:D

I don't do breakd, cakes or biscuits, but sometimes, when we have folks drop by and do teas/coffees, it'd be nice to put something easy out that everyone can have. I just can't do the gluten.

I can't find any nutritional information on their website, except stating they are GF, vegan etc.

i mentioned about what you said to the product rep and he will check online.
I had a little taster, I liked the double choc hazelnut best of all, as I don't like coconut. One biscuit is about 4 carbs in the sharing bags.

Hi FG, yes I did sample them on my lunch break, I loved the double choc hazelnut biscuit sharing bag. I write out the brief, as it helps me to remember the details. Also working with Craig was great and I got a hug too :happy::joyful: ( pity he lives in London) lol we made a good team :)

I hate those sharing bags. There's the huge danger I'll like what's in the bag and husband won't. Then I don't get to share and if I really, really like it the problem might be that I start and don't stop......

In fact he hates it if I seal up the bag and put it back in the cupboard because 99% of the time I'll forget it's there and won't eat any more.

One of the interesting things I'm finding with libre is that the longer I use it, the easier it's becoming to figure things out, whether that's a bolus call or dextrotab nudge up.

Into my third year with it now, last two have been with first the blucon transmitter, then miaomiao.

I read Stephen Ponder's Sugar Surfing when I first got libre, and a lot of the things he was saying didn't really make sense to start with, like how he could tell without looking at the cgm whether he was 5 or 8, or dropping to 5, but 3 years into it, it's making sense now.

I suppose it's just through having seen so many cgm traces in so many different situations for such a long time that making choices about a particular situation just sort of becomes more intuitive because of the past experiences, and the longer it is used, the easier it becomes.

I think Guinea pigs are just so cute, also a bit of useless information, in Switzerland. you must keep more than one GP as they are very social animals, bless them, yep I know I'm a wus, but a proud wus :)

I am just starting my 5th week with the LIbre and I still love it :happy:

I can still remember the first week I was using it - I was on a staycation holiday, been walking around town, decided to scan (for about the 50th time that day!) saw the downward arrow, dropping to low 4s, had some carbs, them watched it level out.

That one event really sold me on it - that would have been a hypo if I was on strips alone, but it wasn't.

Being able to change the future by seeing where bg is going makes such a difference in being able to co-operate with T1 instead of fighting it.
