What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning All. Awake way too early for me but just registered a 5.6 so all is not lost. Yesterday was the darkest, wettest day I can remember for a while. OH sent me message on his way to work saying driving conditions terrible and to not venture forth. So I had a cosy day. Hope you all got to where you needed to be safely.
@SaskiaKC loving the new avator, never too many of pics of the KC and the glam new collar. @ianpspurs sorry for the early waking but visit from grandaughter will be blissful. Hugs for the extra meds affecting BG I think that is down the track for many of us.@trick60 take care out there. @Cumberland hope you are ok and hug for the rotten lows.
Well have a great Tuesday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning... a terrible day yesterday... towards the early evening I saw Churchill was in awful pain...rushed him to the vets had to make the awful decision to have him put to sleep...feeling shell shocked & sad

Morening, another quick one. Busy busy on national bin day.

8.3 this morning tried some late night food last night. Won't be doing that again. Still it's below 10 therefore ok.

Have a good bin day folks. Oh and please shed a tear for those lying, cheating self severing politicians who have to return to work today...

Oh how very sad for you but so brave to let him go. He will have had a lovely life and will always be part of yours. They put their trust in us to carefor them and that includes doing the best for them right to the end. He knew he was loved. Sendings lots of hugs. So sorry.

5.8 today - an happy with that. Had a wonderful day yesterday. Had hairdressers in the afternoon and spent the whole afternoon doing a little bit of shopping, having a wonderful low carb meal in Bella Italia (the most tender and tasty grilled chicken breast and green salad), and relaxing in various places reading Saturdays 'i' newspaper, doing Suduko and just generally relaxing.

So different from what I usually do - trying to fit in clients so I don't let them down and they miss a week, then a mad rush to the hairdressers - no time to eat than rush back to do evening classes. It's total madness - and I have been doing it this way for 20 years. So now a complete change - I am going to be kinder to myself.

I listened to Something Understood on Radio 4 this weekend and for the first time ever I actually understood it and it really made me think about my life at the moment.

I particularly liked the poem that was quoted - Warning by Jenny Joseph. https://www.scottishpoetrylibrary.org.uk/poem/warning/. It starts off - "when I am an old lady I will wear purple.....'.
Made me smile

good morning all :)

4.3 today

it's a very 'dreich' looking morning outside although it's not especially cold. Waterproofs at the ready I think :sorry:

Mum's little dog is loving all the extra walks with us but is currently miffed at getting no breakfast this morning,' needs must' though ;) ... she has my sympathy (after all it's usually me fasting for blood tests :hilarious:), but, she needs to fast before her x-ray.

@HarryBeau many many hugs, such an awful decision to have to make.

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

Good (if wet) morning @trick60 and indeed all forum members near and far. Appropriately for an Ember day, today is officially a look beyond the present difficulties and trust day. 4.9 at around 4.20 a.m. - (I do have trust issues there.) Early waking has returned, weight seems to be adversely affected by new (non diabetic) meds, straying far from basic salads not good for joints and 2 "little" challenges (don't even mention Spurs please). Dry, warm, plenty of food and drink, loving wife and family, my own little pharmacy and granddaughter coming to visit. Life isn't some absurd equation or mad series of random events. I'm just slow on the uptake at counting my blessings - which include you guys. Enjoy today.
A winner in more ways than can be fathomed. Have a great day.

Sorry for your loss but your act of kindness was the main thing. Stay well.

Thanks @dunelm. I would like to sleep beyond 4.00 a.m. and have enough movement to exercise so I have a proper base from which to work on other issues. Does seem a little greedy but I acknowledge my faults.

Oh my word! That is such sad news. So sudden. So hard for you to comprehend! What on earth happened! Massive hugs going your way.

Good morning and a happy bin day to you all (even for those who’s bin practices are not as orthodox as others).

The wonder wheel of pruning a pear tree in the rain, standing on a ladder, wearing shorts and a T shirt and wielding a lopper and a saw like some bizarre worshiper of Indra, king of Svarga, rewarded me with a firm 5.2 this morning.

Not a lot going on today. Mrs Miggins is taking our eldest granddaughter out “Birthday Shopping” after school as we will not be here for her 15th birthday. The word “Pandora” has been mentioned - don’t open the box!

Have a great day if you can, hugs to those who need or want one (or more if you like).

4.8 on my libre reader
5.4 finger prick!

Yesterday was like a scene out of benny hill (if anyone remembers the series) life in the fast lane. Didnt stop til 9pm. Today will be a little more relaxed.

I had an invite to share my journey with a liverpool low carb group at a gp surgery. How could I refuse (I'm thinking of trying for some sort of funding so i can say yes to everything coming my way, at the moment it's out of my own pocket which i dont mind but not sustainable so if anyone has ideas much appreciated).

About an hour after i said yes i would love to join them this arrived by Twitter PM (no there isnt a @PenguinMum on there too haha). I didnt send pics or tell them what to put. It made me smile.

The wonder wheel of pruning a pear tree in the rain,
Nice fbg young sir and like the image of the looper:) The frozen north must indeed be much colder than the fens. Pruning season here late December to end of Feb. I hope Mrs Miggins and granddaughter open every box they possibly can:angelic:
