What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.5 this morning. I’m happy with that. Busy day again today, coffee morning at my grandmothers home. Then hopefully the guy coming with wheelchairs to look at will turn up, he never came yesterday. I also want to get some beading done, as I’ve slowed down on that recently.

You all posted news while I was dithering so here goes. Hugs to @OldButBold for the chest infection and hope the meds deal with it efficiently. Hope you take it easier than usual. @ianpspurs hug for the complicated web of meds v woe. @DJC3 good to see you and hope your shoulder is much better. @SaskiaKC and @HarryBeau couldnt agree more about the benefits to cat and owner. Mine defo help my BP enormously and those trusting adoring eyes blinking up at me mean the world...and all they ask is to be treated well and protected. Lol agree if I look at the gallery I want to home them all. I resist in case they have a ginger needing a home cos that would be too difficult.
Best wishes to all.

They do have a photo gallery where you can view the kitties & read a brief history...there are so many elderly cats its sad...so while it was a positive step I couldn't help but have a tear in my eye wondering why some at age 10 & upwards no longer have a home.

There is no reason for an elderly cat not to have a home. You mean it is not a pretty little kitten any more and so is discarded? That would make me angry as well.
My cat Popeye was 27 years old this year in May. I know that because he was born to my all black cat Amethyst in May 1992. He is an outdoors cat as well as indoors, and still hunts mice (the larger creatures like small rabbits are too much for him now).
He is asleep on my tummy at this minute, but I am going to have to disturb him to go for my flu jab. He will keep my bed warm until I get back. It is teeming with rain outside at the moment.

You will find your perfect cat whatever the age, size, or looks. You will fall in love, and the cat (or cats, if more than one) will fall in love with you. I wish you all the best in this search x

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Sorry no time to catch up on posts. Life, the universe and everything is conspiring against me and me's, I'm having enough trouble with my alternative personalities and different realities that I seem to inhabit, but just recently I have discovered fractal realities are sneaking in on the act!
The phrase there "may be trouble ahead" seems apt.

Still one or two constants in life firstly my 10:30am cup of tea, the tea is the constant, the time the variable, secondly that ydoold meter of mine it threw out a 5.9 this morning, yes my hammer is next to my meter.

Well folks have a great day, polish your bins ready for next national bin day, bark at the postman, chase the neighbours dog with a BBQ stick and garlic bulb shouting "here kitty, here kitty" do whatever floats your boat and enjoy, must go koffy is calling and medication.

I wonder if it’s because elderly people get a cat as they are easier to look after than a dog. Then they end up in care homes or pass away before the cat. Therefore leaving a cat older in years homeless.

Hmm..the only consolation is I think gingers are popular and get home quickly.

My daughter tells me that black cats and dogs are hardest to find homes for as they are not so easy to photograph - which apparently matters in this Instagram age! ( she has a black cat and a black dog, both of which are magnificently photogenic)

Good to see you here DJC hope the shoulder has improved...the black cats features are not easily seen in their gallery photos...possibly part of the problem...that's why no decisions until after a visit for me.

Had my flu jab.
There were cream cakes there again!
I did not partake of them.
Came home.
Made a cold cheese snack with nuts, cheese, and a few grapes.
Joined Popeye in bed.
He has made an igloo out of my orange fleece.
I have managed to get in bed round him...
He has not moved.
I don't feel so bright this year after the flu jab. So I am going to sleep for a few hours.
The flu nurse said I would probably feel not well for a couple of days. I said I was always okay after the flu jab. So I don't know if this is psychological suggestion or what. I didn't sleep well last night. But I am joining Popeye in sleep.
Catch you later.

Hi just back from my review at the hospital with eye consultant. As I expected I need another course of anti-VEGF injections which will start in the next few weeks. If after the next three there is no improvement then he will consider a different option. Its disappointing for me cos after the first injection my sight improved a lot but my last one was two months ago and the leaking of blood has resumed. I knew my sight was reduced. Trying to look on the bright side at least I have options and it is only one eye so can count my blessings.
@gennepher hope a good rest with Popeye does you a power of good.
@HarryBeau if you go for the ginger brothers I will expect regular pics!

Sorry to hear that PM however there is every chance of a positive outcome & it is important to be optimistic...I'm not sure about the ginger brothers I'm not going to Battersea until the 21st of next month & they are so handsome I expect them to be snapped up pretty quickly...Olivia & Georgie want to come & help choose so it has to be in their school holidays...whoever we pick will no doubt be happy to pose for some photos

Am.really late posting fbs which was 6. Two hours after breakfast 6.2 - so really weird that for the second day running there was no rise after breakfast - nor any meal.

Got my results for my Bone Health Qualification. A pass with 96 marks out of a possible 96 marks. Am so shocked as I truly believed that I wouldn't pass because it was so hard. Thank goodness that I don't need to do anymore exams.
