Morning All. 5.7 today so fish supper wins again.
@gennepher I loved reading about your day at the mill and all the lovely things you found. Wool Heaven...I wouldnt have been able to come away without some rugs. Dont worry about the splurge...its happiness that matters! I used to enjoy knitting small animals and dipped my toe in the water of needle felting (see my avator) but I havent picked up my needles for years. I tried earlier in the year when OH was away for a week but my sheep didnt turn out well and it ended up in the bin. I would love to get my confidence back in that regard.
Hugs to all suffering lack of sleep. Have a great Saturday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Flu jab administered and the parks dog pack petted. Just took a reading before indulging in breakfast and I'm 4.6, which is a fair drop from my waking numbers and considering I'm still on antib's and steroids.

As I said, I know nowt about managing T2. Time for an asparagus and mushroom omelette :)

Hi all I thought that I'd join this thread after seeing a link posted on one of the morning Bg threads . Looks far more interesting, not sure if I will add anything of interest to it tho :). Yet another poor night's sleep awake from 12.30 till about 4 this am took BG after 3 hrs sleep and it was 6.8 . Not brillant seeing as I am sticking to low ( ish ) carbing .

Hi there, nice to see you made it. Your post is already interesting... you hit 6.8 after three hours sleep. Brilliant or not it's useful to know, especially as I can spend the night awake and hit those numbers thinking "it's just me".

Have fun ;)

Welcome to the dark end; no street lamps on the dark end of the street but we do keep one another buoyant and brightly lit.
Reminds me of a James Carr song.

I bought lots of nice things yesterday.

A new electric heated throw.

Different things at the fabric mills.

Some Berber fur fleece and it was half price. I just got one piece. It was teddy bear coloured fabric and in the old days I would have made antique jointed teddy bears with a growl voice box in them. But when I got home I put it on the bed and joined Popeye for a nap, I was so toasty, I am thinking I am going back to get some more for the couch in front room, and for my potting shed. But there is only one thing...all the other pieces of the half price fleece was in shocking pink. I think batty old lady can live with shocking pink!!!

I didn’t return immediately to get it because I was tired when I got back, so I think it’s extremely unlikely there will be a rush on shocking pink Berber fur fleece, don’t you?

What else did I get at the mills ?

Some purple all wool material of a very nice design. It will make a great winter jacket.

And another orange fleece, called cuddle fleece. It is actually so soft and cuddly.

Then into to wool building. A building full of wools of all descriptions. It is wool heaven @PenguinMum

I found some recycled cotton (material) on reels to crochet with. It needed a number 10 crochet hook. So I got that in...wait for it...purple! It is fairly heavy and I think it will crochet a couple of winter hats. I often nearly lose my hat because of high winds, and this hat will be for those kind of days.

I also got some arran wool mix to crochet a lighter weight hat....in purple!

I got some fancy colourful design crochet hooks!

Now that I am going back today to get some shocking pink Berber fur fleece, I want some more wool material (there were some beautiful designs and colours), and I want to get some purple specialist wools to create a trim or design on the purple wool material I am going to make a jacket out of.

I was trying to be restrained yesterday at the mills, but if you had seen my final bill I think you might have gone OMG.

So today I will get the wool and material I was being restrained about yesterday...

Oh and I got some metal silver coloured buttons. They were in different mixed packs. Amazing designs, little yachts, eagles, symbols, and more. Like a child I was, or a pig in wotsit. I love buttons. What am I going to use them for? I don’t know, but they are amazing to look at. I got a few packs...

Actually I might use them in my gel prints. I make cards out of my gel prints. Or maybe in my encaustic wax paintings.

Now, I need horse blinkers for today, in order to just get the things on my return restrained shopping list....oh, and there was a great lime green on the recycled cotton to crochet...that’s going on my restrained shopping list too....

The hug is because reading your post was like reading a post by my mother. She was a wonderful seamstress and shopped at fabric stores the way people shop at grocery stores. As a girl she loved going with her mother, as I loved going with her. Looking at the pattern books, then at the bolts of fabrics, then at the threads, the buttons, the zippers, the trims ... :) plus a couple of trips to one particular mill store to buy curtain material and slipcover material ...

What a lovely post to awaken to, and to read over breakfast with coffee. You have taken me on a trip down memory lane, and I enjoyed every word. Thanks. Big hug.

P.S. I hope you made it back there before any rush on the shocking pink fleece! I started wearing shocking pink again just a few years ago having not bought any since about 1970. Fleece is about the only material that brings out the KittenCat's kneading instincts ... she loves making fleece biscuits especially when I am lying under the fleece!

7 on a partly cloudy Saturday morning. The KittenCat let me sleep in and was rewarded with treats for breakfast. Now let's hope she makes that connection in her mind ... I do not have to yowl for treats I will get some if we sleep in they will not go away if we sleep in ... ^. .^

@mojo37 welcome to the thread. It's good to see you here! It's a great place to be. :)

... I just Googled "Saturday Seven" to see what might pop up for a pic to post and I found a quilting site which I thought was appropriate after reading the posts about fabrics and creating things from them ... especially this seasonal quilt ...

Good Morening and Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.
A well behaved 6.1 again this morning.

Well folks I was asked yesterday what was the worst impulse purchase I ever made, instantly one of me's replied " my marriage certificate ". Needless to say Mrs J was not impressed and the bruising is coming out now. Shortly I will be allowed home from A & E. Now on a liquid only diet it will be a low carb one.
Have a great day.

Yes I did! I got the shocking pink fleece!
Fleece awakens Popeye’s kneading instincts as well. He has a good go into making it the perfect den.

Glad my post awakened good memories for you to enjoy over your morning coffee.

Thank you for my beautiful hug :)

No reason for the drop. Sometimes it mystifies me.

Just popping on for a minute to post fbs and hoping to catch up on posts tomorrow.

My son works for 111. He has just popped home for lunch. Told me that a colleague got a call today from a diabetic who wants to change how they eat from seeing a lady on This Morning program!!! The whole office was buzzing when they found out. They all had watched me live! You dont know how happy that makes me. One more educated.

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend

Anyone up for a little friendly competition? To see who can last the longest on the least amount of sleep? I was up 'til after 4 this morning and awake again about 6 (and glad to awaken as I was having a horrible nightmare!). I had planned to Uber to a different grocery store today, just for the variety, but I will wait 'til next week when I can enjoy it after a (hopefully) good night's sleep. I expect I'll crash hard sometime after breakfast or this afternoon.

Anyone else suffering from lack of sleep last night? I'm here to commiserate, laugh, whatever ... unless I'm the first to crash ...

@SaskiaKC that autumn leaves quilt and cushion is beautiful. I have a childhood friend who I used to go to sewing classes with and neither of us were very good. However later on she lived in Saudi for many years and the American ex pat ladies taught her quilting and she lives and breathes it now. I have always been envious of her sewing room and what she produces.
