What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning Ian, my checkup on Monday had the doc saying I was clear of infection. Still have a bit of a cough but that's expected with COPD so I shall ignore it. I'm back to pondering the vagaries of FBG and why when I am on very low carb it gives me sixes but a crumpet or two will plummet me down into the early fives.
Yes lots of times it doesn't seem to make any sense .

I gave a winner for your openness in sharing your experience of the effects you experience with LCHF diets. I'm also throwing a hug your way for support with the constant battle to try to overcome and succeed.
Thanks for the support (tempted to say I'll always wear it). What I think I want to convey is an agreement with LC as the approach to management of diabetes as the most likely to be helpful. I also want to say the results and enjoyment are highly individual and massively affected by comorbidities and a host of unknown factors. I fear my weakness with language may not always do those aims justice.

Great news from the Dr. The pondering will get you nowhere, I suspect, but it will keep you warm and occupied on a winter's night. Best stock up on Talisker? and ponder away.

Morning All. 6.2 today so must do better. It is so nice to have a break from the rainfall and see the sun. Bulb planting today and a bit of baking Keto cheese scones. @SaskiaKC I like to think of you dancing down the hall. @Debandez you are one busy lady. Fantastic work in pursuit of Diabetes Truth and giving hope and encouragement to folk who really need it. Well done for resisting pasta. If I do a pasta bake for the family I struggle not to pick at some of cheesey bits stuck to the side of the dish.
Have a great day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
Hi have can you give me the recipe for the keto cheese scones or point me in the right direction :)

Very late night - uncooperative lower back being as unreasonable as a thicket of MP’s attempting to agree on something using the medium of mime. Bonus prize of loads of steps on my FitBit - how lucky is that.

The wonder wheel of late night film watching while pacing round the house gave a multi-tasking 5.1 this am. Interesting as dinner - I say dinner, more fast food for busy people on the move - was a chicken sandwich made with a couple of slices of Livlife bread that someone had kindly brought for me to try.

Have a great day if you can walks down the prom are on the cards this morning.

hugs for the back pain x

Pretty good, thanks! I feel like throwing a party tonight. My friend has been having horrible problems with her website, and I tried all Friday afternoon to fix it, then got timed out by the web host for 3 days, and we were slowly going crazy thinking it would be lost.
Finally, tonight, she is back up and running! Yay! I feel like dancing down the hallways.

Party
Good idea
I’ll pop around with some booze

Morning all after a small scuffle with the meter of doom, he very petulantly threw 7 at me I gratefully exited the kitchen at speed, wondering if he wanted round 2. Not much to report other than only a small leap greeted me on my return from work, Sidekick Sid must still be tired from his exertions on Sunday (don't know how he just sat in his bed all day).

Take care everyone.

the following picture is Sidekick Sid in his natural resting position every evening, morning, afternoon or whenever I'm sat down really (its the real reason I go to the gym :))
love the picture @johnpol made me chuckle :)

5.8 this morning after a rubbish night’s sleep. Howling wind outside kept me awake but I daren’t put earplugs in as I was on school run this morning so had to be up by 6. I was frightened I wouldn’t hear the alarm.
@johnpol your photo with Sidekick Sid is brilliant, it did make me laugh.

' morning all. 7.9 greeted me at 8.30am. Had my HbA1c results back and was expecting 'to have increased following the last few turbulant weeks of stress/ eating as & when etc. Went to the surgery prepared to argue my case against increased medication only to find it has gone down slightly with the report " Excellent progress. Only 1 above ideal. Continue with same lifestyle. Repeat in 6 months." I think she said it was 51? Not sure about that as I thought the recommended level for Type 2 was lower than that. Anyway I'm hoping to get back to more "normal" LC eating habits from now on--if life will allow. Enjoy the rest of your week folks and make the most of today's sunshine! :)

@mojo37 and @HarryBeau the recipe is for Savoury Cheese Scones on iwdu.co.uk and they are really good. The recipe makes 4 large scones (3g carbs) so you have the option to get 6 smaller ones. I sometimes put in a bit more cheddar than they suggest! They freeze well too.
