What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Embarrassed to report 8.3 this morning. I feel like Isaiah, O woe is me, for I am undone. And disgusted and fed up (literally). I need to find a wagon to get back up on.

No need to be embarrassed but even so you tested, posted and have a plan "going forward" so all good. Never mind Isaiah, Romans 3:23 deals with that. Look after the kitten cat and join the wagon train to who knows where.

Hi @SaskiaKC

No need for that...we've all been there..(well i have :arghh:)

Perhaps as it's seem to be THAT time of year, the analogy of our lives being an advent calendar, won't be too far amiss.

Today's window was disappointing maybe,
but we got all today to make tomorrows better.

And if not tomorrow, then the day after, the chances NEVER end
for US to make that difference.

Btw, i'll sit at the back of the wagon, so when your ready to catch up, i'm there to offer that hand up
and high five you for having done so well, getting back on board safely :D

Take it easy, No one wins if the team fails,, we gotcha.:)

thank you, life seems good ... only hard task now for me is the diabetes.... we even decided only to give one gift each person to one other (except our children) so Christmas wil be okay cheap this year... and no worries there...I am having most of the inner family this year for Christmas dinner and dance around the Christmas tree... here in DK we celebrate mostly the evening of the 24.th of december... happy to be able just to focus on decorating for christmas the tree and not at least the dinner... we have both vegetarians and meatlovers... so need lots of food ideas especially for the vegetarins... hope you are all doing well in this great forum.... it is such a hard task to keep ones nose in the track....
nice to see you back freema x

good afternoon all :)

was 4.7 this morning

our visit from my brother and SIL yesterday went off nicely :) they were lucky with the weather for the relay and convoy around the Highlands and we got to spend a quiet day together chatting and catching up :joyful: They are driving back home today and will hopefully be safely home in time for dinner ;)

Today we took mum out for lunch, we thought we'd try somewhere different. Mum enjoyed her lunch and the food was ok but mr gee and I both felt that either the portions were rather stingy or the prices were too high (or any combination of the two :hilarious: ).

Hope your day is treating you well :)

Trip to Lincoln could have been worse though it did involve a trip to Keiran's favorite coffee shop while we where there.
I had some thing similar to this.

coffearoma_epressodrinks.jpg

Though mine was a dark chocolate Mocha and a double shot esspresso. and the coffee shop was voted in as one of the UK's top 10 coffee houses

Loved Wagon Train as a boy and had never heard that hymn so thanks. Maybe it was Wagon Train, Bonanza etc that laid the foundation but I absolutely loved teaching The American West for GCSE (9th and 10th Grade)

Only popped out for a Muddy Bike ride, then lunch with Mrs MC and a sunny afternoon walk and the forum moved on like an express train, Christmas! We've only just had bonfire night and leaves are still on the trees. Mind you I do love Christmas all that time with family and friends plus numerous gigs with the folk band, choir and recorder quartet.

Good news @OldButBold and @HarryBeau

@SaskiaKC you have nothing to be embarrassed about, frustrating as it is our pet Draculas love to shock us now and again, are you like me? Refuse to believe it, wash hands, test again, try other fingers, waste strips and all to no avail as the result is still annoyingly the same. We've all been there I'm sure and it's the forum support that gets us through.

Mind you today I was very very embarrassed. I went my muddy bike ride and it was extremely muddy and decided on the way back to pop into the health centre to find out why they had not called me for my HbA1c test which was due in October. I locked up my bike, removed my helmet and rushed into the building, there was a line of 4 people waiting and behind the desk 5 members of the health staff were standing seemingly doing nothing to reduce the line of patients. So I asked a man in front of me why no one was being seen to, he said "I have no idea it's always the same they are dead slow" at which point the health centre manager said very crossly "we are trying to have 2 minutes silence" now that's embarrassment, I felt awful.

Oh and as for BG reading after 0 carb breakfast and 2 hour bike ride 6.1 and after 0 carb lunch 6.3 now and before evening meal, why?

Don't worry if ya miss me, i won't be alone
one of us will catch ya.....

in fact we've been working out a routine for how to celebrate..:D

Thank you. :) I appreciate your words even though Fox won't show the video in my country. :(
