What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning All. 6.7 at 0700 which is likely to be the many spoons of peanut butter before bed after eating supper before 6pm. Today will have to be frugal carbwise!
@ianpspurs your hotel sounds amazing and I am glad you are enjoying it. @trick60 sorry your GD still struggling to settle, just keep supporting is all you can do and if it gets too much there is always the Open University. My son with the most successful career did the OU while still working part time so it can be done. My other son went away to Uni but took a very long time to settle.@gennepher lovely photo of the night sky but I am thinking you must have got very cold, clever Popeye!
Have a good Monday all. Stay well, stay safe.

I did get cold @PenguinMum

It took me awhile to warm up. Popeye was looking at me smugly as I got back into bed!!

good morning all :)

4.7 today

slept a bit later today on this frosty morning :bag:

mr gee and I restacked most of a pallet of wood bricks in mum's shed yesterday so that we can reorder shortly, we do have ordinary logs from her garden too but the packs of 'wood bricks' (made of compressed sawdust), are very clean and can be stacked in the porch so mum doesn't have to go rooting about in the shed at the other end of her garden in the bad weather :)

We're having a quieter day today (hopefully ;) ) and I'm doing some sewing repairs and alterations, soup for lunch is just going on the stove. Mr gee and his mum are going to get their flu jabs at a session in the nearest town tomorrow so we'll be out quite a bit of the day so I might as well try to get some of this stuff done today :) I may get my jab done at the pharmacy tomorrow too :angelic:

Hope your day treats you well :)

@ianpspurs Cyprus sound lovely, just the thing at this time of year;)

Good morning everyone from another day in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of a fairly lazy Sunday after a good walk along the coast issued a whisper of a 4.8 this am

A bit of sixes and sevens today: Our daughter went into labour last night. No idea what it will be but after her spectacular representation of the film “Alien” on Friday they are hoping for a boy or a girl (they chose not to know).

MIL is moving into a fully supported apartment today also - a six week trial to see if she takes to it. One of those places with meeting rooms, a cafe, hairdressers, medical facilities and yet your own apartment - hopefully she will take to it as she is getting to the stage where she requires more assistance.

Have a wonderful day if you can, best make a koffy while I still can.

Best wishes to your daughter and the little one, and to your MIL. Her place sounds a lot like mine, except we don't have medical -- mine is independent living for people 62 and over. I hope that she will like it -- I wish she could post on this board so we could "talk" about our experiences. :)

7.9 this morning. I have no idea why; the last thing I ate last night was a handful of mixed nuts. Sometimes I think our various meters are a handful of mixed nuts.

A balmy 9 degrees this morning -- balmy compared to last week's temps. I will try to get out late today and walk off this 7.9.

Social media post as dashing, nothing to eat before I made call to surgery. Woke to a 5.4 at 7.04am shot up to 7.8 before I made call at 10.41am.

Libre estimated 31. Libre I know does read lower. Compared to my bg monitor but it's a rough guide and I'm happy with that:

Today I woke up feeling very anxious

Hba1c results day

Phoned surgery With trembling hands I clung to my phone On loudspeaker Wanted to hear loud n clear.

LOWEST YET - IN AT 36! (48 and over diabetic, 42 to 47 pre diabetic). Libre sensor does read low as expected. Estimate was 31. It's a rough guide. I love it.

But just look at what my stress caused though! Stress is a killer! If you are struggling try a little mindfulness. Headspace app is very popular.

I am low carb (about 50g a day give or take) not no carb or keto (20g or less). I eat out quite often. I try and make good choices but sugars are buried in the most surprising dishes and have surprised me on occasion. I still enjoy red wine and nuts (in moderation these days!!! ). I dont have my sweet tooth anymore. I dont get hungry/hangry which was the biggest surprise. This way of eating really suits me. Do I miss pasta, rice, potatoes, cereals? No. I eat more fruit now than I did before but never bananas, always berries. And usually with lovely thick double cream on!

Its Eric's birthday tomorrow but it wont be just him celebrating..

Thank you all for your encouragement and support along the way. My Facebook family has been amazing. Apologies for driving you nuts (Eric has to live with me so think yourselves lucky. he really does deserve a medal, he is one in a trillion, love you Ezzy).

Happy Monday

Very exciting news re impending grandchild. How many is that for you now? I hope everybody is doing well.
Fingers crossed your MIL likes that place, my dad moved into somewhere similar and loved it. Company when he wanted it but his own apartment when he wanted peace and quiet. His one bit of advice for anyone considering a similar move was not to get in the back row of the keep fit class - you get the full brunt of the windy exertions!

Cracking post

@gennepher ..love that pic.
one of my highlights each trip IS just lazing in a chair late at night on the beach
doing nothing more then lgazing up at an un light polluted sky and being in awe at just how small and insignificant most of our troubles are, when you look up at the Majesty of the Heavens.

@ianpspurs , nice to hear the hols / training going well.
PT at gym went through a few exercises with my Lauren at first inductions too
still got to get into mine, too used to just getting on and doing, sadly....

@johnpol great to see you back in better numbers,
and @HarryBeau wonderful to hear your back to close to well, have a safe journey.
@alf_Josiah good levels again, my friend... Mayhem seems to agree with you..:D
maybe Chaos is the fly in the ointment..:bag:

@mojo37 a nice steady stream of scores

Aw @trick60 ..heart breaking when the youngers are having a hard time and we can't JUST take it away from them

and @Muddy Cyclist ..ooh i don't envy you today..sorry..little positive to say.
except..it's not ME doing it...;):hilarious:

have a good un all.

off out to find myself..:D
