Ron is on day 2 of a fibromyalgia flare up. He’s not been able to walk as it’s so painful.
GP response is keeping taking tablets. Mind u delighted no stones anywhere. :) :) :)
Still don't fully understand the flare ups either. GP suggested avoiding dairy. Dairy helps and to keep my insulin need lower. Well a bit of cheese. Gives me a great morning start. It satisfies my liver dumping. Of which there are many.
I'm on fantastically much lower insulin units and I'm now 16¾st. I was nearing 22sts a few Christmases ago.

Ladies, @tina_marie and @ickihun - I don't know whether I have highlighted this article to you in the past? It makes for an interesting read.

http://www.thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/related_conditions/Fibromyalgia-medical-mystery-solved.html

Clearly, I'm not suggesting this is anyone's problem, but well worth pondering:
I'll experiment. Only thing is I'll start being an insomniac again. If I get too much levothyroxine I cannot sleep. I hv some 25mgs so I'll only increase 25mg for a month and I'll see if any different or more/less palpitations. If weight falls off and no insomnia or palpitations I'll inform specialist of my findings. More importantly if no pains.
GP feels my pain is from heart disease and fatty liver. Of which are reported to improve with weight loss. So then less pain.

Ickihun - To be clear, I'm not saying you or anyone else should self medicate with Levothyroxine or anything else.

I am now taking Liothyronine as well as Levothyroxine to support my wonky thyroid. For the Liothyronine, for my dosing to feel comfortable, I dose three times a day, with one dose being a quarter tablet. I had to get my head around all that pill cutter nonsense. I'm still in the bedding in period, so not quite in a sweet spot yet. I just hope I can find a sweet spot!

If you have other conditions in play, which you obviously have, then it makes sense any adjustments should be done in a controlled way, by monitoring the relevant hormones and nutritional elements. Thyroid meds are extremely powerful, and a key-critical element of our whole metabolic health.

For me, that would be TSH, FT4, FT3, thyroid anti-bodies - particularly if you have auto-immune thyroid disease. Vitamins, D, B12, Ferritin, Folate, and CRP for inflammation levels. If your vitamins and iron are down a bit, it can impact on thyroid function.

Blood is red , stools are a bit dark but not black.
Dark, towards black stools are a big red flag. Red blood is a red flag.

Self- monitoring is better done by the pros who may be able to get your minds at rest fairly quickly, but that needs to be looked into.

I have Asperger Syndrome which is an autism spectrum condition and a full diagnosis of Adult ADHD which are characterised by impairments in social communication, social interaction and social imagination. I also have a rigid and somewhat unpredictable routine. I also experience obsessive rituals, some a bit overwhelming. But I have a talent in articulate creative writing skills and possess a photographic rote memory. I have sensory sensitivity and get upset by loud noises, bright colours or lights, and notice the texture and consistency of certain foods more making my dietary choices extremely limited or restricted to certain food components. I dislike conflict and lies. The Adult ADHD also makes me very moody and cross.
I've been eating cold oatmeal and buttered toast with yeast extract. I don't feel like eating anything else. I'm really worried about @eldergarth. It appears my prayers are being ignored. I'd love him to be healed! Is it my prayer technique? I'm worried sick about him now. Blood in his stools? Poor man. I've been in a lot of pain too with crippling low back pain and kidney pain. I'm managing it with Voltarol gel and Paracetamol

I'm also praying for my supported housing prospects and mental health disabilities. It was November last year when this was first talked about and I'm still waiting. How frustrating!

@JohnnyBaker87 I always think about what would benefit you, in your current situation. I'm sure the spring will show some light. Keep us posted of any improvements.

Waiting for him to pass another stool. Although not diagnosed I’m sure he has I.B.S. He even struggles to go for a wee. One minute he’s desperate to go , other times it’s coming out in dribbles .

How old is your husband, Tina?

The latest version of occult blood screening (for which he is likely routinely too young) is really easy these days. It used to be the person had to send samples of stool from a number of days. These days t's one single test, done at one's own leisure and posted back.

It does diagnose for the big C or anything else, but it does create alerts if anything worrying is present.

I wonder if your GP would support his having this, as he'd not have to actually go anywhere

He’s 48. I hope something can be done , as I’m getting paranoid. Every time he goes I keep asking if there’s any blood. Like earlier when he went , there was none . Yet I told him it still needs looking into.

Here's a link at Amazon UK for a test kit that will tell you within minutes...

From there website it also says this:

What to do if occult blood is in the stool?

Please consult with your family doctor for an accurate diagnosis and, if necessary, appropriate medical measures. Only the clarification by the doctor in combination with further examinations, a possible illness can be accurately diagnosed and treated.
