What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

how lovely that Charlie felt at home enough to snooze on your lap already. Their antics remind me of their namesakes, they could definitely star in a kids tv show.
They are beyond naughty DJC but they are the sweetest kittens ever ( I would say that) ...we have a little routine now they follow me upstairs whenever I go for food & I have to remind Lola she needs to go...when downstairs she has a little meow which I know is 'ooh where's the litter tray'...so far this morning I have rescued several socks & poor Santa who by the time Charlie had finished with him was teetering on the edge of the table!

It’s exhausting and hilarious at the same time isn’t it? Dennis also has a penchant for socks and is very adept at sneaking under my arm when I’m unloading the tumble dryer and legging it with his stolen booty. We can always tell if he’s pinched something he shouldn’t have as he has a special walk as he scurries past- a sort of proud high stepping prance like a dressage pony.

Morning All. Is it still morning? Just back from blood tests and enjoying big mug of tea and sluce LivLife toast. 5.3 before I went.
So much to catch up on. @jjraak I am delighted to hear your nephew has made real progress and hope the pneumonia is treated successfully. The power of the young body to heal is a wonder. TG. @Muddy Cyclist wishing you all the best with your difficult situation with MIL. Hope there is some good news. Enjoy the concert and get as much rest as is possible. @trick60 great post, PE outing sounds fun, it must be great to have your GD home. @SaskiaKC hope you can find some solace in the refurbishment battle and the advice from @HarryBeau proves useful. @HarryBeau its so lovely to hear about the little furbabies and their antics and they are really settling well. @johnpol hope you are feeling better?
Hope I havent left anyone out but hugs to you all. THANK YOU to everyone who sent me good wishes for the blood test. Have the best Monday you can. Stay/get well. Stay safe.

Awoke to find myself still drifting slightly upstream of FORT POINT OH Waterfalls.
With a rather pleasing 5.2

One meal yesterday of steak, tender stem broccoli and peppercorn sauce..(scrumptious)

Admittedly I didn't test before but 2hrs after I was 6.5.. And that was with a pudding of double cream, sugar free jelly AND three spoons of ice cream..(st Jude's salted caramel)
Can only think it's all the work/exercise making the difference..?

Woke up feeling peckish, so a spicey breakfast concoction of..2 eggs 2tbsp of coconut flour, 2, mushrooms, 1rasher of bacon and onions and some jalapenos... all chopped sauted and mixed into eggs and bung in oven for 12 mins ...a goodly dash of nandos peri peri sauce..delicious.

Eaten like the fast n furious movies...

Gone in 60 second..:D

Joy n love to all..

O/T Came across this excellent description of one of the tribulations associated with LC eating: like the rush of blood that comes to the legs after one of those toilet trips that takes a couple of sudokus.

Morening, still no ( ab )normal Morening greeting yet, but ......

Well would you believe it a 6.3 this morning, that meter and it's readings have started to act like my old meter hmmmmm how does that song go " There may be trouble ahead "?

Well folks whatever your day has planned for you, ignore it and be rebellious doing as you please, you pass this way but once and trying to act your age is a sensible as trying to act your house number.
I must sign orf now my mates chaos and mayhem have arrived.
Cry havoc and let the planning commence.

good morning all :)

4.6 yesterday and 4.8 today

yesterday at mum's was sausage casserole with roasted potatoes, broccolli and cauli ;)

My christmasish flavouredf lc pudding was ok but I think the extra carb expenditure of a teaspoon of molasses (5g carbs for the four portions), might be worth it for the flavour. I used some chopped fresh cranberries for fruit since they are not bad on carbs, 12.2g per 100g (similar to raspberries).

Katy continues to grow and try to chew everything available at 'dog shelf' level and her first shot at the tiny vest style harness we got her was hilarious, she's quickly getting used to it and has been out for a first little outdoor walk now her vaccinations are ok :)

Hope your day treats you well :)

@jjraak that's heartening progress :)

Sounds like an idyllic day @geefull. Have you published the recipe for the Christmassy pudding or if not would you consider doing your adoring public that favour please?

5.1this morning, in spite of a horrible, hot episode in the night, which I am now putting down to falling asleep still wearing my fleece top.
The assistant builder has arrived. Three cheers! At last some progress on the major works.
Oh and yesterday discovered another tree down. A really big one. Luckily it fell, not onto the road, or the neighbours field, but into our orchard.

Winner for fbg, builder arriving and tree falling fortuitously but obviously not for the hot episode.

Hi @ianpspurs I'll attach the text file of my lc sponge recipe with the latest adaptations in case anyone wants to try it, as I mentioned before it seems complicated but takes longer to read than to actually make once you get going. I've added the details of how I do my tiramisu pudd and the 'christmasish' version at the end, I'll try to do a pictorial representation at some point of the basic ingredients which might be easier to read ;)

my menu spreadsheet best guess at approx macros per cake bar is around 130 -150 calories, 4.5 - 6.0 g carb depending on which ingredients you use.

Thank you so much. Can I just add, @geefull kindly sent me her sponge recipe which I adapted at Easter for a Hot Cross Bun substitute. Tastes vary but I found it to be excellent - no pressure then:angelic:

FBG of 5.3 this morning.

It seems along the way somewhere I have managed to aquire yet another label to add to the others I have,

Dysarthria or difficulty in speaking, Had an appointment with a Speech and language therapist the other day she thinks sublingual atropine may help to some degree not so sure about that and don't know how it would affect blood sugars if at all.

Late on parade today as I was up and out with a huge list of jobs to avoid.

The wonder wheel of “where exactly are we heading to at this time of a morning” came in at 5.6

Dropped off the 5p money jar at the lifeboat station and then stood in a queue at the post office to get a card off to France - why my brother decided to have a birthday just before Christmas Day is a mystery. And I forget - and then it’s a rush as all the offshore Christmas cards were painlessly posted over a week ago.

Charged up and down the esplanade to grab some sun and get some steps in. Early lunch, and then hunter gathering for some lambs liver but not to be found. So, beef skirt - a few hours in the sous vide at 55.6C and should be good to go on the griddle pan.
Found some Egg Replacer in Morrisons - might be handy if I want to keep the wet content down so grabbed some to try out - 0.2g carbs per substituted egg amount of 3g. I think that it is made of ground up vegans and xantham gum.

Woman with stick toppled over in supermarket and it took four of us to get her up and onto a chair that some nice staff member found - take care when shopping at this time of year - the isles are packed with end of the world shopping trollies and panic buyers - mind you, the supermarkets will be closed for a whole day!

Have a great day if you can, thank you to @geefull for the kake recipes.

Hug for the added label. I have more than I want and I wish I could dump some of them in some research lab's label donation bin!
