@DJC3 hugs and best wishes for you tomorrow, for your appointment and that your tum will come along peacefully and not give you any trouble. I hope that knowing Dennis is being well looked after will help.

@HarryBeau , Charlie and Lola have grown! They look so happy, and so obviously in charge of all they survey. I also like the red color scheme of your home, as in other pics you have posted, it looks warm and cosy. I have been thinking of using red as the main decorating color in my new home (whenever I get there!).

@PenguinMum and @DJC3 I love coloring books, and friends and I have given them as Christmas presents in recent years. Back in 2015 (goodness -- was it that long ago?!?) I used some of my Christmas money to buy myself a cat coloring calendar.
I enjoy coloring with my non-dominant hand sometimes, just for the exercise. I've been aware of my tongue sticking out sometimes when I've done this! :D

Gutted to hear about your endo experience but not at all surprised. Heard similar for the 2 years since my diagnosis. These so called experts discourage testing. If they encouraged it perhaps we wouldnt have the diabetes epidemic we have. I think it was @PenguinMum who once said that not testing was like crossing the road blindfolded. You could do it and hope for the best but much better to see where you are going to avoid catastrophies. The experts know that uncontrolled bs can cause complications so why would they not encourage. And why would we be encouraged by those very same 'experts' to eat high carb low fat, both loaded with sugar. At the end if the day we have a sugar allergy.

If you were writing about US "experts" I might reply that they are in it for the money, they make their money off of us; and the drug dealers (i.e., pharmaceutical companies) have a monstrous presence on TV advertising their products and urging viewers to "ask your doctor if [drug XYZ] is right for you," while butterflies sing in the background and grandparents laugh with grandchildren and a voice-over races through all the terrifying possible side effects of the drug. IMO they want us to be sick, and to find a sickness with a long name we can "proudly" claim. Since we're no longer allowed to claim a religion, or a race, we can proudly claim a medical condition and buy a drug for it. :(

Has anyone else ever followed a Diet Doctor meal plan? I just checked what they sent me and 2 things struck me. Portion sizes look stupidly small and almost no fibre - severe transit issues worries me. Not holding out much hope of being able to last this for long but completely understand how people lose weight on these plans. Absolutely nothing in the plan I wouldn't eat but I suspect I will be starving by end of day 2. How did you guys who tried this manage?

good afternoon all :)

4.9 today

it's cold and windy here today, we've been over to mum's for lunch and to do a couple of small jobs. Whilst I was there I pruned the young pear tree, I hope I did a reasonable job :sorry: tried not to overdo it.
Katy had a go round the garden on the roving lead whilst I was out there ;) she loved it and was very funny bounding about in the longish grass like a small ginger coloured fluff ball :hilarious:

spent part of my morning pressing some bits of knitting that I hadn't got to before so I'm feeling quite virtuous :angelic::D:hilarious:

Hope your day is treating you well :)

Having been inspired by @dunelms reminder of the David Hockney trees and @gennepher from the wonderful trees she paints I have spent 2 hours on today's watercolour, A4 size. I really like Beech trees in the spring which feels just around the corner on a day like today...

Top picture my watercolour from a photo of Cannock Chase last Spring. Bottom picture by the inspirational David Hockney

Beech trees are inspiring...
That is very spring-like @Muddy Cyclist !
We need spring...
Not sure about David Hockey's painting...I like yours better :)
Thank you for your compliment.

8. Not great. I really must stop getting hungry late at night.

I am enjoying looking at all the paintings here, and reading about the various phone painting apps. My Chromebook has a painting app, and I recently used it to draw a cat on a cartoon I found online, for a cat humor thread elsewhere. I had fun doing it despite my total lack of drawing talent, and am not too embarrassed to share it with y'all :D

Do you use felt tips or colouring pencils? When my boys were little we spent many a rainy day in summer hols colouring in using Crayola pencils, the cheaper ones were always breaking. I loved it.

Thanks for the good wishes, and to you @dunelm. Yes at least I don’t need to worry about Little D but I miss him already. I loved your cartoon btw.
@HarryBeau I’m scrolling back and forth trying to find the new photo. I will get to it eventually.
We finally arrived back at the West London house just as the Estate agent arrived to show a couple round. I had to tell him to show them the downstairs loo quickly then leave me in there! V embarrassing - they all shouted politely through the door when they left. At least it’ll stick in their mind if they are looking at a few houses.

I like posh coloured pencils best too. I used to go to an annual exhibition by the society of botanical artists. Some of the exhibitors used coloured pencil and they were stunning, so detailed. I nearly bought a picture of a Savoy cabbage one year as I was so in awe of the skill of the artist. My friend wouldn’t let me though, what a spoilsport, I still think about it.

You should have bought it! If it was many years ago I can understand it as I always thought first about what the boys needed, now I have a different perspective. Having said that my New Year habit rather than resolution is to prepare to downsize. Today I got one big linen and towel cupboard done and have been feeling smug all day.
Btw dont think Crayola pencils were that posh but were so much better than cheaperr versions. Hope you get a decent night’s sleep.

I use colored pencils mostly. I have a box of crayons and one of felt-tip pens but I like the pencils the best.

I have some Crayola pencils and also some Cra-Z-Art ones. Then I have some posh ones that a friend gave me one Christmas --"The Fine Touch" metallic ones -- and two Prismacolor ones that cost almost as much as a whole box of Crayola ones yet aren't nearly as good. Too soft.
There used to be a brand called Eberhard-Faber that made short but otherwise good colored pencils. I don't know if they still exist. We used to get them for school projects.

@geefull have you looked online( utube) for video of headlight removal? Only asking because we had a repair shop refuse to change the bulb in a headlight- saying you needed to take the whole wing off to get at it! As if manufacturer would arrange it like that. Utube showed us how to do it ourselves. Even where the specialist headlight removal tool was located. We would never have found it. Took several attempts and going back to the video for another look, but we did it ourselves in about 30 mins. Obviously an experienced person would have been a lot quicker.
Hope you find the fault.
This morning was a disappointing 6.1
But I was up early so tested again hour later and 5.8. Hooray, breakfast is on.

LOL thank you. The only other thing I can draw is (surprise!) a horse. lol
Last year I did a watercolour of a farrier shoeing a horse, it was a commission but I really enjoyed doing the work, it's A1 size, now framed and on his wall......

Good morning/evening folks, a 5.2 on the dice today, not bad after home made pitta pizza for tea.
Have a lovely day all.
