What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

"..Well i did it...
i slipped in "The FOURBIDDEN ZONE" this morning for a little wander.

Don't think i was spotted but i must have looked so out of place..I'm not a natural for the FOUR Zone..

(4,6 as you ask..and NO i didn't believe it either..so, yes, ...am i really so transparent,...
you know me SO well..:bag: ...i did wash and retest.....Only 4.FIVE AROONEY..get in :D )

i didn't stay long, scared i'd get rumbled..
but what i saw i was impressed...Very organised down there.

they seem pretty chilled, most keep busy, though did spot one chap eating JUST meat and leaving his Brussels to one side (;))

so i my first thought..was Carnivores.:wideyed:.:woot:,,

But then i noticed one had a dog and was walking it and stopping to chat to others,
SO....it DIDN'T like it was meant as someones dinner

though i did catch matey above lingering a little too long, while petting it...:wideyed:

Anyway, i thought best not push my luck so came back and am now sitting a Point 5.2..looking out over the valley below.

oops, best get back to the camp, i heard a ruckus, i think a new painting has just been displayed..

catch ya all later.."

In other news, this was close to home.

going to be a lot of normal folk falling ill, as is normal, who are going to be the centre of a scare, i'm afraid.

I rated your post a winner but also think that it was really funny.

Posting this in parts...( i hope it's not too much )

FILM Updates....

Right my Lovelies,

just got off the phone, can't say too much, but a few are interested, which is the good news,

Sadly however those likely to be backing the potential movie have asked for a re-write,
AND have offered some 'Interesting' ideas of how it should 'Flow' on the screen..

So to-whit, they want to encourage the younger crowd AND the regular Movie buffs,
SO want us to pitch it at the techie, more iPhone screen watchers, then cinema audiences..
may be released in Cinema, then days later to apple or netflix, so i'm told, by those in the 'know'

So they want a tad of the “Ready Player One” type of name checking, this time for nods to Movie links etc,
rather then gaming.

And with the Post Apocalyptic scenario playing a bit 'harder' then I first envisaged.

My first thoughts was this would be a smaller, low key, more personal account of how the Plainsfolks managed, but once tom Hanks gave the script a Provisional Nod..(cheers for the call to Him @PenguinMum ..
don't know WHAT you said, but it worked wonders, )

THEN the floodgates opened, and the talk, and I must stress that, it's ONLY talk..is of this being aimed as a summer block buster.

however they.... want a say in a few big names in the field to play pivotal roles..

Namely Dr david Unwin and Dr Fung for their work on T2D,,two main characters

Now a lot of CGI in the movie is planned, aka avatar

SOOo.. Doc Emmett has been suggested for Dr Unwin,

and while stereotyping, I hope Dr Fung see it as a positive and a compliment,
as he battles fearlessly with his nemesis, Carbs..,
....as he's lined up to be played by Jackie Chan.

Don't shoot me, i'm just the messenger..and it's their money after all.

So here is my first draft of the main scenes

Opening Scene

    • a view from outer space..circa 1980...some static noise in background.
(shot of ground sites, hearing this and a few scenes where aircraft pilots, controllers, civilian and military, alongside some amateurs, all look puzzled at the 'static' coming through )

    • ...then we pan out to the sounds out there in the void, then back in, through the clouds, down to nations, cities, streets then down to surgery levels.

    • At first just one patient, diagnosed and the awful aftermath, at first it's just our patient, but then others one by one becoming one large Mosaic, are captured by the camera, and then the scene cuts back to everyday uk,.. as many trudge home reflecting on the news at surgery, and then the shock on their faces, as seen on one or two, when they read all the books at the local library on T2D, and see the future written in COLD HARD FACTS.

    • All the with the “Sound of silence” gently playing in the background and reaching a crescendo on last screen, a patient face grey with shock, emptying fridge..of all they knew

(seen as a metaphor for the end of the Joy in life, as they wait patiently for death)
TBC...

Good Evening, I have had the most stressful day of the year, been through a gambit of emotions and situations, eat very low carbs and have ended the day with a 7.2. I suspect another indication that stress is as damaging as carbs to BG levels and not the result of Friday evenings overdoing things. :banghead:

Edit.. for those interested in food intake.

Started the day at 6.2 a high start
Breakfast|Ham, Cheese, Yogurt coffee black
Lunch: Bacon, Sausage (very low carb variety) Scrambled Egg Black Coffee
Dinner: Cheese Salad, Very small piece of Crumble with cream ( yes I know this could be a culprit) 1 glass red wine.

Up earlier, but out to meet Lauren for lunch.

had a good week so far...all mornign FBG's and pre food BG's in the McGarett Zone..Love it

Out monday gym
Tuesday Lazy day
wed met our steph in chiniatown.
(yeah, i know..we discussed it before we went.. we live in london, use tubes all the time or buses, how do all the people get anywhere, Chinese, tourists, locals, all by TUBE or BUS..so no safer on the tube then Chinatown so we risked it.)

Nice beer in De Heims a dutch bar in Chinatown itself,mmhh... Mid week, early jan, but it 'felt' quieter all round.

Wander off after a nice catch up to the wong kei, been going for years, 5 floors of restaurants lots of chinese., normally..always a good recommendation, in my book, for any foreign food is if their nationals eat there.)

But it was like the marie celeste when we got to first floor...
(ground had a few in, but rare to be seated downstairs.)
never seen it so quiet, was as stated mid Jan, but rarely have we been the only diners, above the ground floor.

BUT food was nice..duck noodle, salt n chilli spare ribs, steph had shredded steak with vegetables,
(that steak was EXCELLENT, Btw)

well merchandised to be fair, every thing and anything you could wish for with M & M's on
and the power of marketing... we pooh pooh'd it as we walked around YET STILL ended buying a box of Colourful sweeties for stephs flatmate at an exorbitant price..hey ho.

Home later...some 3+ hours after meter says 6.2..so not too bad.
It's awful what's happening. It feels like this virus has come out of the blue. I dont think China are telling the full story as its been around since 2019 by all accounts. I saw a Chinese family with luggage coming across road from train station to sainsburys and immediately my thoughts went to wondering if they have flown in from china. We are all so international now. Wonder how it will pan out. On a lighter note glad to see you had a fab day and managed to avoid the m and ms!!!! Well eating them at least .

Good evening one and all. My fbs this morning was 7.9. No time to post as I had an early appointment at Specsavers to have mum's hearing aid repaired. Having waited a week already for the appointment we were told they will have to visit her in the nursing home to make a new mould. As they don't have anyone to do this at the moment we may have to wait another 12 weeks! :arghh:This is not going to help with mum's communication and understanding. The good news is that my blood test results were OK and my HbA1c was 56 which was not too bad considering I've had a virus for the last 4 weeks as well as Christmas and Birthday celebrations to take into consideration.:angelic: The advice was to watch my diet and repeat in 3 months. I am watching my diet and whilst my levels and weight are holdong their own they are not improving!:( This week has flown by. I can't believe it's the week-end already. Have a good one everyone.:)

How awful...poor mum

probably MORE important now to be able to communicate and not get too frightened or draw into herself

i hope mums get sorted asap.

best wishes.

A bit, but mostly a bump, my fault Car in front at T junction turned right, I followed turning left, he stopped I shunted. Very little damage to either vehicle, bumper paint scratches, I have the photos, no passengers hurt all out of cars inspecting damage, lots of shouting by wife of the guy I hit, but all sorted. Then an hour later get a text from them saying he had taken his wife to hospital with very bad back pains. OK insurance company not very bothered as though it's all perfectly normal. Me? All shuck up by it and of course mad with myself, been 35 years since I last had a bump. GRrrrr!

MIL well home keep loosing everything now her glasses, everything labelled but nothing ever is found, just hassle.

@gennepher what a handsome boy your Popeye is and what a talented lady you are.
I was watching an interview with a man in Wuhan earlier in the week who had a Chinese wife and a few weeks old baby. They havent been able to have any of the usual medical checks on the baby due to medical centres being no go areas. He had the dilemma of whether he should apply to travel to the UK and whether his wife and baby would be allowed on the flight. I hope you arent coming down with anything but as we know only too well BG can shoot up for no particular reason. Take care today.
I saw a very sad video of a baby in a hospital room. With the coronavirus. Quarantined. About 12 months old. Holding his arms out to dad behind the glass. Dad was devastated as couldnt pick him up. I hope this is sorted soon.

******..always a shocker any thing like that
it's the what if's, i always think last longest.

His missus may well just be shook up.
(cynical part of me says mmhh )

Hope it's all dealt with swiftly and all are genuinely fine.

Any reason why he stopped.?
would have thought, pull out right, you' know you were good to go, crossing lanes
otherwise the oncoming car hits/narrowly avoids..much tooting of horns etc

turning left easy to have the car just passed unexpectedly stop for traffic, etc.

hope it doesn't keep you awake.

try the drumming thing on your thighs (ticking of a clock) i think @gennepher posted.

I do that most nights, and within a minute or two i'm yawning.
not sure if i nod off straight away but it does seem to help me.

Oh, @Muddy Cyclist , what a mess. I am so sorry. No wonder you are all shook up! Bumps like that are so scary and shouting just makes it worse.
I hope shouting wife is alright, of course, and I hope your insurance company is right that they're not bothered. Hopefully you can take your cue from them and let it wash away -- she probably strained something shouting!
Meanwhile maybe you can get a good night's sleep and get out with your bike and get good and muddy in the morning.

Great PIC should be my Avatar :joyful: and you are right it's exactly what I need. If my lights were all charged I would have been tempted to go now but they aren't.
