What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.9 from 2 meals only yesterday. I find that with an early ish breaky and a late tea my bs does lower quite a bit in the day and reflects in fbs. I've been having 3 meals lately to avoid losing weight. Happy where I am.

Busy working on a couple of presentations and applying for funding. Got hair done today and a sainsburys shop. Only went in for something for tea. Spent 2 hours and £100!

Great video by Dr Ludwig

******..always a shocker any thing like that
it's the what if's, i always think last longest.

His missus may well just be shook up.
(cynical part of me says mmhh )

Hope it's all dealt with swiftly and all are genuinely fine.

Any reason why he stopped.?
would have thought, pull out right, you' know you were good to go, crossing lanes
otherwise the oncoming car hits/narrowly avoids..much tooting of horns etc

turning left easy to have the car just passed unexpectedly stop for traffic, etc.

hope it doesn't keep you awake.

try the drumming thing on your thighs (ticking of a clock) i think @gennepher posted.

I do that most nights, and within a minute or two i'm yawning.
not sure if i nod off straight away but it does seem to help me.

Hugs for @Muddy Cyclist
I agree with @jjraak on the cynicism.
It is a hell of a shock.
The insurance will deal with it. Don't let it replay over and over in your mind which it could do.
Go for a bike ride. Paint. I assume you will get a courtesy car while your car is being repaired. Get out and drive again as soon as possible.
But the mind does go round and round.
Here is the video @jjraak mentioned I posted. It also helps clear the mind for sleep
Just even watching the video helps.
Don't even think about the other person or their wife.
You are the most important. Get yourself back on track for you and your family.
Your insurance are there to take care of it all for you.
All the hugs for you that you can possibly need
Take care, and try that video .

Edit... half hour later...just thought, don't respond to the guy's texts saying his wife is in pain. Simply pass any and every communication from him direct to the insurance company...it may help them.

Good morning/evening folks, a 6.2 on the dice reflects a rather delicious piece of birthday cake I succumbed to, so nice I had another sliver (grandsons 4th birthday).

@Muddy Cyclist been in that situation a few times, although it doesn't take much of a shunt to cause whiplash, my natural cynicism says that they're trying it on, but @gennepher is spot on with what she says, just let the insurance people deal with it and don't get involved with any texting, might be worth considering getting a dashcam fitted, lots of d*ckheads on those roads breaktesting cars and claiming for whiplash in an ensuing rear end shunt, or is that just my cynicism again.

Have a lovely day all, must dash.

Good morning everyone from a wet and miserable dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of steady as you go and steering a straight course hit the target at 4.5 this a.m.
Food yesterday was: a.m. 1 pot Japanese tea and 1 cafetiere black koffy. 1230 1 slice of bacon and 1 egg with a black koffy. 1830 one burger topped with cheese and bone broth gravy. 1930 a very few pork scratchings and Merlot. 1L sparkling water and 3 glasses tap water throughout the day.

@jjraak - marvellous dedication to the scrip daaarhling and star spangled sparklers for the toe dip into the land below five. Will you be booking further outings this week?

@Muddy Cyclist, could well have been the crumble but I suspect that the car incident caused Mr Cortisol to play a re-run of the sci-fi hit Gluconeogenesis staring Larry Liver, a short film about protein store raids. Insurance will sort out the poorly back from shouting woman - they are very keen in these sort of claims nowadays. Hopefully she is right as rain.

Breaking news: While we have been on the air, the noise of the rain has ceased and all is very quiet out in the outside.
Have a great day if you can, I have no idea why I got up this early on this my day off of my week off, best shove off and make some koffy.

Wow so much going on since I last peered in here. My fbg at 5.30 showed 4.9 on the Tee 2. Usual caveats about % error, accuracy of meter and if that level is even mildly "protective." @Muddy Cyclist I think sage advice and reasons for precipitate increase in bg have been fully covered but nonetheless hugs and prayers for peace of mind asap. @jjraak the film idea and land of slightly plus fours have given you a mission - how does Lauren of Arabia feel about the new loves of your life? @trick60 impossible to avoid birthday cake on a young man's 4th birthday and you would have been a much lesser man had you done so. @dunelm interesting menu from yesterday and way outside my own comfort zone except the Japanese tea but food for thought. Just not much of it or in my usual hitting arc. So, Feast of Candlemas today and rainy here: If Candlemas Day brings cloud and rain, Winter will not come again. Not official met office you understand. Last call for Christmas decs dire consequences promised if not finally taken down today. A feast of sport for some of us but I can't find an English food associated with today. . Luke 2.29-32

Morning All. 5.3 today which is civilised and acceptable.
@Muddy Cyclist hugs galore for your horrible day yesterday. Its happened to me too though no insurance involved just nudges but occupants of other cars rude and abusive. Thats what makes the shock worse. Hope you feel better today. @jjraak I will start with congrats and an oscar for The Four (not jealous, of course not) I know you wont forget Auntie Pengie in your acceptance speech. I will finish with the exciting developments in La La Land and cant wait for updates. Thrilling that Tom’s on board and you’re welcome. @trick60 birthday cake can never be ignored, that would be just rude.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

often wonder just what my use is on here)
You are Chief Correspondent and critical thinker who scrutinises LC like no other but you would never get past Dominic’s selection process TG. Apart from that you’re just a good soul and we thank you for it.

Why thank you young lady. Fenland has 2 phrases for folk like me which have very different meanings and uses. A Shoot is good. One is usually pleased if so described. A sooner is always used affectionately, never really understood by anyone who qualifies but always carries a duty of care for those ITK. Both have degrees from "bit of a" through to "proper." Never let a proper sooner use a plumber's brazer.

Dandelion and lettuce salad with alfalfa sprouts -- some of groundhogs' favorite foods!

Good Morning, 6.2 so same starting numbers as yesterday.

Thanks one and all for all your sound advise and support re my bump, all taken on board. @trick60 have dash cam but just my luck, clip before and clip after incident are there, the bump nothing :banghead: so I am going to trust in my belief that most of us humans are decent, honest people and clear my mind of analysis and leave it in insurance companies hands.

@gennepher good advise and be assured it's exactly what I have/am doing. I didn't comment on yesterday's art, sorry. I think it's great you are trying different methods and subjects, liked the reflection on this piece. I have also done some on stage scenery painting, used to really enjoy it trying to get the perspective right on the flats as they move back on the stage was always a challenge.

Out for pub lunch with friends, so wish my BG reading was starting lower, will have to be careful, but a quick Cycle ride but maybe not so muddy as @SaskiaKC portraid may help.

Take care one and all, enjoy your day of rest.

It sounds as though you are in a good a place as you can be under the circumstances.
Take care and you have a good day @Muddy Cyclist
