What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@gennepher isnt it awful that people cough all over you and have no idea how stupid that is. Its just bad manners to start with, we were all taught not to do it. Glad the Amazon delivery went smoothly this time and you are feeling better about it all. The drawing is so interesting, you are a very talented lady.

I never cough over anyone. If I am inclined to cough a bit that day because of my dry throat and mouth, then I will suck a cough sweet.

That was a relief the different Amazon guy. Thankyou for the drawing compliment.

I do agree with what you say. Have read that this virus is at least 10 times more deadly than the flu - yet some people I speak to think that it isn't even as deadly as seasonal flu. They are, unfortunately probably the same people who will spread it around because they have such a laid back attitude.

My delivery of Dettol ant-viral wipes arrived yesterday so am well prepared for an outbreak here in Norfolk. Although I will close down classes to protect clients if the cases rise here.

Don't know if I have already posted about this, cant remember, but when I was at the clinic on Tuesday for my eyes and feet checks, I had to use my own sanitizer as there was none in the diabetic screening area. There also seemed to be a lack of concern certainly from the "eye" nurse. She felt that everything was over rated - but she did say she was cleaning her hands more. I was a bit concerned as I noticed she did not give the equipment a wipe over from the previous person going out and me going in. I wanted to get my sanitizer out again but didn't have the nerve so uncomfortably had to put my chin on equipment which someone else had just used. The foot nurse did at least have plastic gloves on.

Thankful though that I had the test now and not sometime in the future when there the risk of contamination will be greater or alternatively perhaps miss altogether if they put a hold on non urgent appointments such as diabetic reviews.

Trump has already stated that covid-19 is a false flag event created by the democrats :bag:

Ah yes but for a royal flush he needs to mention Soros. We on the other hand will soon be told our man will get COVID done. He may not know how but it is unpatriotic to say otherwise. @Ryhia interesting about eye screening. Mine is due on 18th so interested in how that will pan out.

good evening all :)

4.6 today

day out volunteering in the 'big shed' today which may be the last for a while, they may shut down temporarily because of the virus :sorry:

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

I am obviously inclined to believe anything negative about our (can't believe I write this) PM and the source of the article is hardly likely to give him any credit but it does ring true https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/12/health-expert-brands-uks-coronavirus-response-pathetic. Markets seem to have made their decision on how well Trump and our guy are likely to handle this as well. Wall Street and FTSE not prone to swallow bull - dot com and South Sea bubbles may argue otherwise. Just waiting for DJT to tell us COVID all a hoax started by Soros.

Well hasn't THAT been driven by all the MASSIVE T*** who kept telling any fool who would listen "it's JUST FLU "..?

Hope the many, now look at themselves in the Mirror, and reflect how much damage they have done.
stop the lies, and get on board.

we DON'T beat this by individual efforts alone.

It NEEDS the Collective response to keep us ALL safe,
( Covid deniers, as well as everyone else.)

Boris is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't .
i doubt anyone else right now would do a better job..
is all the advise right..who knows, and the idea we rely on the science,
what else WOULD we use.?

the idea now of making political capital out of it , not you, the paper..when we should be taking stock,
deciding what we , as individuals CAN and WILL do for our families, friends and neighbours..

THAT is the BATTLE now..lest pick at Boris and others after.

We ensure our neighbours families safety
BY
thinking and acting,
which then protects our own.

TRUMP however..on ya go,and Fill ya boots...

Oh and before anyone gives me a hug ..thank you but, please don't bother.

Certainly not needed here.,,i've already done what I need to do.
Save the hugs for those poor B*******, who listened to the FOOLS,
didn't prep and are now left stranded as stocks wither, and REAL panic sets in.

I did not see a single roll of toilet paper at the grocery store just now. Two of the managers were stocking the toilet paper shelves with bottled water. I don't understand the run on bottled water -- no doubt it is being bought up by the same people who usually won't touch it because of the plastic. After the Twin Towers attacks the Water Works where I lived put on a full-time security guard by its reservoirs, hundreds of miles from NYC and DC but whatever .. we were all terrified. Hopefully all this bottled water being bought up did not come from the Italian Alps!

I was in the baking goods aisle, I think, when a sneeze took me unawares -- I panicked wondering if I was going to be arrested!

For anyone who has read this far without giving up on me ... I did buy a lot more food than I'd intended to buy. I went for cat food, but bought a lot of people food as well. Mostly canned and frozen, as I figured the contents might have been handled and packaged before the virus hit. If the little-town apartment calls me with a vacancy before the month is out I will have a lot of heavy canned goods to box and load.

I came home to a notice on the back (secured) door of my building saying If you don't live here, don't come in, even if you're a visitor with a resident. They've quit doing tours for prospective tenants for the time being.

I asked my pharmacist if she had any words of wisdom; she said "Wash your hands." I washed mine 3x when I got home -- once after unloading the grocery bags from my shopping cart, again after unpacking the bags and before putting the groceries away, and one more time after putting the groceries away and closing the fridge and freezer and cupboard doors.

This reminds me that years ago I met a woman named Pandora. Why anyone would name a poor innocent child Pandora is beyond me. I don't know what they were thinking .... I don't know what Pandora herself was thinking ... I don't know what Eve was thinking.
Of course I would never have opened that box or shaken that tree ... :angelic:

Have to say given the choice we had in December the one we made was the best of the 2 for this situation - which is frightening IMHO. Regimes around the world seem to be treating this differently so naturally I have doubts over the handling of this in UK - British exceptionalism can be taken too far. I agree this requires a united society. Who destroyed that recently for personal ambition is an interesting point. BJ not the only candidate there but certainly a person of interest in the investigation.

Wow did you use a screen pen or is that all finger work, very good, of course I don't know if it's a good likeness but like the flow of lines.

Off now to Shropshire....
Finger work.
I have a pen. And I have various brushes for the tablet screen. But I prefer finger. It is more versatile.
Thank you @Muddy Cyclist

@gennepher Thank you for posting that cool self-portrait. What technique do you use?
I have several different drawing apps. They all have different tools like pens, brushes, pencils and so on. And different kinds of strokes for each one. I bought all the different brushstrokes and tools with each one, but there was a lot of work in working it all out, and I have forgotten a lot now, it was a few years ago since I worked at these... I do have a screen pen, various special brushes to use on the iPad screen. But after I bought that lot, I found I preferred using my finger. I must have spent a couple hundred pounds on them, but the best was free...a finger.

I do like black and white drawings. I always intended doing a lot more with the apps. I still have a few apps on my old iPad 1, which only has iOS 5 on it, and I love some of these older apps. They have a simplicity about them. You just need a degree in some of the more recent ones I have to figure them out. Maybe with this Coronavirus restricting us, I might try and work more on them....

Here is a little play with a different drawing app...

I like this one very much! Do you do it with a touch screen? Or click on the different pens and brushes?

That is really very shocking. The clinic's level of infection control is appalling.
