What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all those branches that have trained muttlies to carry them, I must point out felines only bother training the food provider.

Well a 5.8 for me and me's this morning.

Mrs J and my self had an interesting day yesterday, we went to the local council tip to disposed of a few unwanted items that were stored in our loft and on the journey passed two pharmacies, queues out of door in both. Just what is going on with the mind set of the British population?

On our return I decided to catch up on a long standing task and found myself on my back underneath a vehicle in my garage, something that I thought many years ago would never happen again, yep fitting a radiator guard to my motorcycle and at my age, now I know l'm not blessed with much common sense but at my age!!!

Well folks what are we going to do? Pubs, clubs and cafe's closed, well I must admit it won't make a huge difference to me, me's and my pals chaos and mayhem we were banned from most of the local one's a few years ago.
After considerable research I have found that having a beard is no added protection to this virus.
Have a great day folks, remember always look for the silver lining.....and nick it.
Great that you are posting from time to time and bearing in mind your back story the motorcycle radiator is truly an achievement to be celebrating. These morning posts are rather like Ron Weasley listening to the radio for news of family in Harry Potter.

Did anyone remember to buy tin foil in their forays? Well done if you did, I didn't and have realized I am running out! Question is do I risk going to the shops for something which is convenient but I can do without? Mmmm..

OH already stir crazy he has started painting the garden gate this morning.

How was your outing? Did you get everything you wanted?
Mine was partly successful but no paracetemol and friend running out still needs a pack every two days. Boots had marked the floor at metre intervals. One in the queue called out to the pharmacist “dont know why you are doing this, if we are going to get it anyway. Pharmacist had to come out and say that it was one of the most dangerous places to congregate, next week it will one entering the shop at a time and if he (the pharmacist) gets it they will probably have to close since it is a tiny branch and we will have to go to a bigger branch in the next town. Most in the queue only wanted paracetemol which they didnt have and this queueing is just going to carry on until it becomes available. This is a real problem in my area anyway.

7.30am FBG 5.6

Wind now blowing from the opposite quarter. North East. It might look attractive out there but it's cold! Back to fleece, extra pair of jeans and socks. Yesterday no need for any of that.

Some people suggesting I might have time to relax now we have to stay home. They obviously don't understand that home is where all the work happens.

@Ryhia Good for him... found something useful to do.

@jjraak would you have a campaign for these? 20200321_101421.jpeg

Hello all, Fbg 5.0. Looks like I will have a bit more time now as daughter’s partner has been sent home from work with a cough. We think it’s probably just residual from the horrible cold she had a couple of weeks ago, but have to take the advice and self isolate for 14 days.
My volunteering has had to be put on hold, but there are a few other people doing it so hopefully the others can pick up my slack until I can get back.
Family stuff continues, thank goodness for whatsapp video links. We are going to try this cooking together thing when we can decide what to make ( on FaceTime/ WhatsApp/ Zoom or whatever ) - you all cook the same thing at the same time while chatting to eachother then sit down to eat together but apart!)
Now to catch up on missed posts.....

Hi @Antje77
I know you posted re Dutch translation, but nice to see you might be joining us on this lovely thread....a welcome addition,...:)
I had never looked into this thread because of the title and because it needs so little, if any, moderating to catch my attention :)
Had I known that 'Full on chat and if you like you can mention your fasting bg as well' would be a more apt title I would've taken a look before someone tagged me ;)
My fasting bg isn't very relevant to me. Not sure what it was this morning, Libre is lying but I didn't do a fingerprick because I had to jump out of bed to catch my neighbours sheep who were walking on the road without said neighbour. Just now, still semi-fasted (coffee with a dash of milk) it was 6.7 by fingerprick and 4.6 according to Lying Libre. High enough for a small correction dose but I want to go buy guinea pig food by car so I'll leave it as it is to make sure not to drop too much when I'm on my way.

Picture of my neighbours naughty sheep for attention!

Got back
Safe and sound
Got everything on my list
Plus something not on my list! Connie onnie!!!! A whole shelf of tins of it! I used to make fudge with it!
Disinfected and quarantined the shopping.
Clothes in washing machine, showered, clean clothes on. In bed with a cuppa.

I was a headless chicken before I went out, calm cool and collected while I am out. Then as soon as back, I am in headless chicken mode again. Monday this week had meant to be my last day going out, then it was Tuesday, and each day until this morning...

This is the last day I go out for the foreseeable...

Social distancing doesn’t exist. It is not being carried out. It is very alarming. This elderly gentleman came staggering into the shop, he was obviously known to the shop assistant who yelled jokingly that she thought he had to self isolate for four months because he was over 70. He used some very choice words for a reply. It is is a good job I am deaf. He has no intention of self isolating.

I don’t look anywhere near 70...I could get away with doing that!

But I am now self isolating as per instructed for over 70’s for 4 months or as long as needed. I hope I am not a bunch of maggots at the end of that time...

I am shattered and I am now hoping to bunker down for up to four months if needed.

Hibernation needed first. Is it me or is it incredibly cold today.
Fbg earlier 6.7
My Temperature now is 35.9 C (it is usually a bit low)
Going to make a hot drink
Then
ZZZzzzzzx....

I love the naughty sheep photo. Great to see you here!

I've just finished mowing the lawns as commanded, I have to agree it's ruddy freezing :coldfeet: Thank you for posting your temp, just took mine and it is the same and seems to run a little low. I did look up low core temp and it does say that diabetes can affect it :nurse:

@Antje77 good to see you here :)

Thank you @ianpspurs
Hermitude does not preclude this forum and sharing artwork.
It is the rest of the idiots in this world, all my friends are included in the idiots of this world because they wouldn't get on the internet, or get on the internet properly, and now are texting me saying 'Look this up for us please' or 'can you find out when such and such is open'...that was yesterday, and I had no time for my own solitude time.
Today my phone will be put in a faraday cage/bag between the hours of such and such and I won't see these inane requests coming in until too late.

Yesterday was an online friend who had gone to pieces, who wanted me to help in a Pages collaboration, something I have not done before, she is not a native English speaker and wanted this 3 page document to flow in good English, so I was having to learn new skills yesterday. It was keeping her sane, but tipped me over the edge a bit.

Sorry to offload this on you, but that was the story where I was at yesterday (as well as all the other stupid uncertainty)

Thank you

Maybe you and I should change places. All of my non-Internet, real-life friends have dropped off the face of the Earth, or at least out of my orbit and never contact me about anything anymore, even to not returning phone calls (which is why I stopped making phone calls months ago).
And I never asked any of them for a free-flowing 3-page document! Weird.

Good to see you on this thread, especially as the other thread seems to have fizzled out except for occasional throes of activity. :)

I wish it were incredibly cold here, it might kill the germs or at least keep people indoors.

16 degrees this morning; yesterday afternoon when I was out it was about 26. With pollen. Everyone will be hacking and snorking whether or not they have the coronavirus. :(

A McGarrett...cool.

and the worry is still there, isn't it..just a cold for sure, but...
funny ho many have had a pretty serious cold lately and many are asking 'was that Covid?'
be nice if we can get these anti body tests privately..£6 each but business only.
MIGHT be useful to alleviate some of the concerns and unnecessary self isolation's

Wonderful about the Group cooking..nice idea

i did see a wonderful video , where a young lady, had to be self isolated
at her parents, the dad, set up a table in the hallway, candles etc and ate each meal for 14 days in the hallway WITH his daughter.

Loved it..will look for the link

oops and the vid of course.:D.

Thanks for the vid. It doesn’t play on my device so I just hum along to the picture!
That’s a lovely story about the dad and his daughter, thank heaven for our modern technology, I don’t think we’ll feel that isolated, but we’ve a small house which might feel a bit cramped with 4 of us in it all the time.
It’s the time of year for horrible colds so I expect that’s what most will be, but we need to think of our community. I feel blessed that we live in such a lovely part of the country, still lots of open spaces to walk in. I hope you and Lauren are ok in the thick of it in London.

I think there are some major compromises coming down the line for a few of us, certainly for me. Self isolation is my ideal but home delivery slots non existent in this area - all booked beyond April 11th. Tesco have a priority morning slot for over 65s - Julie qualifies but I'm not prepared to leave her at the mercy of Joe Public. By not panic buying I won't have LC food to last that long so bg may (almost certainly will) take a hit which is fine. If supermarkets reduce their range in order to supply carby essentials this could be a dilemma for a few. Online it looks as though freezers are being panic bought. Another freezer would work for us but may take one from others.. I realise we are lucky to have the resources - financial and space - to deal with this.
