What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

One of my sisters works for a supplier of Motorbikes in the office admin staff, she rides a Harley, they have had two office staff confirmed C19 cases and still they insist the office staff go to work. :banghead:

Her husband is a rep for another motorbike/scooter supplier and he's been told to work from home.

Need sorting!

Blood y stupid. Time to find another employer.

Temperature today a normal 34.4. Probably the only thing that will be normal today. Although, in reflection, that statement is completely untrue - even if that's exactly how I feel today.

Doggie walking as normall, preparing food a normal, sitting drinking too many coffees as normal etc. etc. Have been mulling over catastrophic outcomes in my head - must stop doing that now as I am getting more and more stressed which probably isn't that helpful.

hello @jjraak
Just a caution. Someone mentioned the Civil Contingencies Act on the radio. Already on the statute. Gives powers of martial law and curfew, suspension of citizens' rights. We must be careful for what we wish.

ready to take lauren to work to join all those other essential workers.
doctors
nurses
builders of next doors extention.
makers of trainers

un f******* beleiveable

coming to the conclusion that
A. they want us dead.
OR
B. they do NOT have a Scoobies what the F*** they are doing

TOO many are in the Sports direct situation
where some safe, cossetted GREEDY BOSS, thinks his product/business IS THE Most essential
so forcing workers in to the offices or places of employment

and all because they do NOT know if they will get paid or
be classed as dismissing themselves as not turning up for work.so stuck on ssp
not the 80% of salary..if bosses choose.

absolute fiasco..desperate people left in the dark, unnecessarily spreading the virus

LEADERSHIP and leadership NOW, is what we need

IF we don't get clarity and clear instruction all that we do, all of it is for nothing.

OMG, why would any one self isolate. if thousands can see non essential is now the new essential..:banghead::banghead::banghead:
How could the police possibly cope with large crowds secing this is just utter B******
so lets go out with a bang

piers morgan turning into my superhero.

Worried confused and with growing despair at the handling of all this
Too late too late , little clarity and NO plan...

I live 5/6 miles from a supermarket in both directions so asking someone to shop for me is a big ask specially when they continue to be badly stocked. Friend whose son works in one of their head offices said some foods such as fresh chicken may be missing for weeks. Our Son lives an hours drive away and is going to do a physical shop for us once a week, Bless him, but last week struggled big time to get even 50% of our requirements though he was very creative with alternatives. The single biggest frustration for me in all this is the supermarkets handling of this, just not good enough. These CEOs get paid a King’s ransome so about time they earned it. I am glad your Aldi has good stock Debs because there isenough to worry about.
Oh my word! (That's putting it politely due to forum restrictions!). What a worrying time for you all. Can you do an advance online order? I know they are booking well into April which wont help you now which is when you need it though. Rationing seems the fairest way forward. After all it is wartime. War against this virus. Enough to occupy our minds without worrying about food.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all doing the right thing.
Here is the text I received yesterday from the NHS make what you will of it......

NHS Coronavirus Service: We have identified that you're someone at risk of severe illness if you catch Coronavirus. Please remain at home for a minimum of 12 weeks. Home is the safest place for you. Staying in helps you stay well and that will help the NHS too. You can open a window but do not leave your home, and stay 3 steps away from others indoors. Wash your hands more often, for at least 20 seconds.
Read more advice about staying safe at home.

We will send you more messages with information.
To opt out reply STOP

Their is a fair amount of information in the links.
I have been in lock down for approximately a week this just confirms things for me and Mrs J.

Oh and my blood sugars were a low 5.0 this morning.

Have great day folks.
Winner for continuing to post. Obviously you and people who know your history already knew you were in the very vulnerable group. Hug for your and Mrs Alf's worry at this time and winner because you have retained your, admittedly quirky, sense of humour. If possible post when you can so we know you are ok.

Just had my Joe Wicks workout, live streamed from crazy city, and my first 2 miles of the day round the open plan kitchen completed.
@SlimLizzy - good idea for the dock leaf but Mrs Miggins has already tidied up the garden. We do though have a goodly supply of hostas, rhubarb and at a push (careful matron), hollyhocks.

Most of the cars in my road have gone out this morning. I know some people go to work. I don't know if they are these essential service people the clown talks about.

But it looks like going about business as usual as regards cars and going out.

Multiply this over the whole land, and it's like the clown's lockdown is having no effect...

Scary what the consequences might be, but were those future potential consequences in the pipeline anyway, knowing that so many will just carry on.....

I am not exaggerating but we need food ration books and enforced curfews with checkpoints and only those with papers as in France can mobilise. This shilly shally pretend lockdown is no good and time is being squandered.

Debs he tried to book a Cluck & Collect forus over a week ago and the earliest date he could book ark was 7th April. I am trying to eke out what I have creatively to relieve him this weekend so he can just top us up with milk, bread, fresh veg etc. He spent 3 hours food searching in 3 supermarkets over Thurs and Fri last week and he has his own work and life and factoring a 2 hours drive to/from us also. You can see why I am upset about it. Tbh I can see the day approaching when I will need to go out in the warzone for food.

TALES FROM THE ZOMBIE WARS.

day 1...
Federation dropped the Hammer last night
Going to be all out WAR.

Essential workers only Field Medics and those assisting,
builders decorators and sports warehouses, cos..
every one wants a nice house and staying fit..who can argue with that.?

Dissent is not encouraged, but inside, we all know this just won't work

Dropped wife off at outpost in the epicentre of Chernobyl.
Not happy, either of us, but resigned that it is needed..for now.

On way back, spotted petrol station,
unsure of when rationing may come in, but if time comes to stop more movements, restricting petrol to the general public might seem a sensible idea.

station eerily deserted.
wasn't even sure if open, so gloves on and pump at the ready,,JOY.
pumps working, top up and head in to pay.

its a M&S station...staff stocking up shelves plenty on offer.

signs up everywhere, and tape on one way system to pay..NICE.
about as safe as it can get..right ?

Idiot in front turns and tries to push past me. ignoring the one way system

"GO that way "..i point in horror..he then begins a Convo about why !

i point out the signs, he shrugs wants to know why i am rude.

by this time he's got a little more threatening,

i step back to distance myself , and get ready to punch him if he gets much closer.
he decides otherwise, and wanders off, tutting and shouting at me...

last words..Racist.

Asian gent, at no time did i even mention, anything of the nature.
just one of life's 'Victims' i guess.

<Note to God: please dear God, if you must take people,
please take the terminally stupid first,
they can't read,
don't want to know
and put us all at risk
..Cheers>

Note to self.
peoples stupidity will be as dangerous to others as this Virus will be, sad.

Back at Alpha base.

i go through normal Disinfection mode as per Federation rules.
but paranoia creeps in, so i wash more thoroughly,

i put all the clothes i wore on a hot wash 60

Bed stripped and sheets now ready to go in as well,
she's working now so our roles have shifted.
and happy to do so,,
we are a TEAM UNITED in our defence of each other.

i get a little bit more freaked out about Mr tw @t,,
so wash hands again...

then face,..
then neck and arms...

pretty soon i'm naked ................
so jump in bath and begin scrubbing away.

Sat here now, flushed & with Glowing pink skin.

Govt propaganda on rolling news networks
ISP Providers watch all we do, so all must watch, tho some do seem to pay it just lip service

"all under control" "nothing to see, move along", "don't ask nasty questions "
same as yesterday really and the days before.

a few of us are rallying around the Resistance leader, Just known as. Piers
he is spreading the word, on the parts of the web not shut down.
news isn't good.

Keeping myself busy till i get the call to go collect Lauren from Outpost W1.

we are doing our best to stay safe
Hope you all are too....

PM I feel your pain. Your son is doing a wonderful job.

Read elsewhere that undertaking ANY other work is terminating employment
and people will NOT get the 80% wage specified by govt
IF they take on ANY other work

will look to see if that IS correct,
but in the meantime i'd suggest people do Not take action without finding out

Given up on online shopping. I have a Huge Holly Hedge so Does anyone have edible recipes for Holly Leaves as they are no good as toilet roll substitutes.

This is becoming a prickly problem. :grumpy:
