What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@jjraak Quote "I will try harder to temper my working class roots" re language. From involvement I have had with just above middle class, don't ask, I come from a Black Country Working Class family, roots ain't got nowt to do with it.:joyful:

Good Morning and 5.8 for me today.

A beautiful day follows a night of nightmares, seem to be having more dreams than ever I can remember.

Now, what to do with this wonderful day?

Keep doing everything well, take care.

Morning all. Fbg of 5.3 :meh:. Whilst I am enjoying LC food again after 18 months to 2 years of really struggling, the results are pretty disappointing bg wise. I am starting to seriously think other metrics are way more useful for me as guides to my overall wellbeing provided I stay around my current levels. I've tried most of the weird and wonderful ways of squashing my bg - except carni. I can't do no salad or fruit, look at the avatar. They produce no real impact on bg for me - my bg levels remain wholly sub-optimal- but play havoc elsewhere. As Bruce Hornsby said, some things are meant to be. I can't find anything about individual optimal bg levels but someone may have links. As with the current situation, it seems the big picture is the key and not all the accepted verities are wrong. Stay well, stay safe and stay in doors as much as possible.

I was not laughing at all @Ryhia

I have now finished my emails and my clogs are clean and dry

So I have just taken a cup of tea and joined his Lordship in the potting shed but he wants to go back to the bungalow...
@gennepher Is he still making a point? Telling you who is boss?

FBG 6.4...and i know why, so no hug req'd :)
temp a barmy ;) 36.1

not sure if anyone else gets mail from their surgery
have posted before about this, but no else mentioned it.

but i got another yesterday, that once again has made me wonder if it had changed policy,
and now i am wondering is the crisis, re covid and the co-morbidity has brought about
a C change or just more confused PHE thinking.

Many say theirs docs say don't test..
and some say their surgery were even more aggressive then that.

.i never asked mine.
in fact it's sort of like the US army policy of don't ask don't tell
they never ask how i get good numbers, so i never tell em.
(weird they aren't interested, but hey ho)

yet i had the post the other say LOW carb..and don't eat pasta etc
This one was about covid and what to do prior & how to look after yourself if suspected
of having it.

it gives examples or T1, but for T2, it's main focus is to TEST, regularly.

now i know it's not on prescription, but that flip from
testing = BAD
to testing =GOOD,
might (pray) be a change in mind set at the top.

Now would seem a great time to look at many things we do, and perhaps change the nations health by a few simple methods.

i doubt, many are eating as much fast foods, rubbish etc as in a normal day.

Wouldn't now be a great time, after the lock down ends to be promoting better health AND look after our NHS.

Mainly by not clogging it up with, sick people who 'Could' perhaps be healthier,
particularly over those later years, where we make up a large part of hospital appointments and hospital stays.
if we just pointed to low carb as a choice along side the ubiquitous Eatwell plate at DX for all?

personally i'd like to see it promoted to the wider public, but maybe baby steps, first :D

Photo one: This used to be me.
Photo two: This is me.
Photo three: This will be me?
I no longer drink tea in the mornings.
My French mug has cracked, threatening me with a warm puddle.
These are the only "slogan" mugs I have ever owned. 20200429_165738.jpeg20200429_165838.jpeg20200502_092540.jpeg

The painting of Alderley Edge triggered dreams of days gone by and sitting under full moons with the Knutsford Wiccans, happy days :)

@jjraak if you liked the Ted talk you'll enjoy this. I had the pleasure of working on and contributing to the subject with this guy. The subject is anything but simple and is one of my passions, one I've been involved in for thirty years putting a psychology degree to good use. Enjoy

Because I have a personal investment I will include this, you can scroll past if you wish :)

I do not get any mail off my surgery. I have no idea what’s happening at my surgery.

Good morning everyone from a bright, sunny start and the songs of birds in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of roasted cauliflower, fennel and onion came in at 5.3 this am - a bit carby - roasted lamb breast tonight.

We, our family that is, were supposed to be walking up Snowden today until somebody complained about having a poorly nose and it all got cancelled. Anyhow, our family weekend quiz will still go ahead curtesy of the programmes zoom and Kahoot.

Still no yeast in the shops round here and the delivery time (and extortionate prices) on amazon are quite long. However, I have managed to order some from an Etsy seller and also having a go at making some myself.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day, I shall be mostly sitting in the garden busily making vitamin D. Firstly, koffy.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who will need to sit back and re think their priorities, myself and my other me's included, I have no idea how my pals chaos and mayhem are coping with this lockdown, time and the media will tell.

A horrendous 5.0 for me this morning, I have had to reduced my insulin dosage because I shall be very active today and I don't want low blood sugar problems.

Well folks and I hope you all are staying well, if not have a virtual hug.
Now I don't do politics, but I do have a healthy contempt of all politicians, these days I am forced to think their might be a lower form of life, yes you guessed it journalists.
This makes me realise watching, reading and listening to the media is not good for my very fragile mental health.
Enough of my rubbish folks, get out in the fresh air and remember what peace their is in silence.
Stay well, stay safe and stay at home.

I have only handed in forms to register at this one. I did get a phone call from a GP saying reading through my notes my weight especially took me out of need for shielding - quite interesting. Last surgery no contact but supportive of how I handled bg control. They couldn't understand why I was totally unimpressed by results for bg.

No mail from ours.
Our PPG are now meeting on zoom. Latest is that those needing blood tests and other minor stuff are staying in their car at a mini-drive through in the car park. A gowned up nurse comes out to take the blood etc. Doctors appointments are done on line/phone in the fist instance.

5.9 this morning. We had a lovely sunny dog walk - not too cold. Now back for coffee, and read the newspaper and do the daily Suduko.

Have made a new rule. Am only allowing myself to play mah jong once I have done the work for today.

Forgive my ignorance alf

i do look at others numbers, and always (i know ) assume for those more challenged the lows are the 4's.
i see @johnpol , and @karen8967 , have the highs and the lows, so i know it's not all plain sailing for many

But now i know better...i gave a hug for the 5.0,
normally something i like to cheer, but won't do that on this occasion.

hope the day stays level bg wise for your endeavours..

and the news..yeah.
i'm just one of those that wants to know everything about something that affects me.
i hope the differing viewpoint doesn't take away the parts where we do agree.

have a good un.:)
