What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Today's daily watercolour, still on the Mill Race Path along Tising Brook with pleanty of sandstone. This is just before where the mill would have been, now a huge waterfall at the end. A4 size about 90 mins. Now off to get ready for family meal, virtual.

Reminds me a bit of the sandstone cliffs at Alderley Edge.

Would be lovely and refreshing to walk along your path. I would love to walk past the waterfall.

A beautiful painting.

Good find, creativity is always great for the soul. My kids stories can be a bit on the wild side...
Here is one page from tonight family 10 page story, Super Carrot, quick scribbled art.....

Wonderful idea. Very Bright eyes - love the worm detail (?) and the Walrus and the Carpenteresque night scene with a smiling sun - or is it a moon?

good afternoon all :)

4.4 today

over to mum's today and mr gee did some strimming and I did some weeding so that's our outdoor exercise for today, also to top up her stack of sawdust 'logs', she likes to see the stove burning (she says it's Katy that likes it but ;):hilarious:).

Everyone seems to be feeling the effects of the 'lockdown' it is so stressful whatever we're doing, because of the risk, because of the isolation, because it's prolonged and because it's abnormal :sorry:

Hugs to all of us who need one or would just plain like one ;)

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@Alien Aspie - useful stats thank you :)

@dunelm - interesting :)

@gennepher lovely sky again, we do seem to be getting some glorious skies at the moment, don't know whether it's anything to do with the lowered pollution levels :) (and I wouldn't be talking to the cat either in those circumstances :()

@Muddy Cyclist looks like a lovely place for a walk/ride, I particularly like the reflections in the water :) (and the sleeping worm ;) :hilarious: ).

Today's art catch up - supposed to be an evening sky over the sea. painted with the 'White Nights'

Thank you, all the family have to create something around the selected subject. My youngest grandaughter said Super Carrot. It's a moon, night, owl, sleeping worm, tut, tut, however the whole story is so surreal it could be the sun. :joyful:

I am not talking to the cat at the moment.

I had almost finished an email, the last paragraph to go, when he begins mithering me to go to the potting shed. I told him in a minute. So he put his paw on my iPad and sent the email and I couldn't stop it because he was in the way.

So I had to send another quick email to do the final paragraph. Popeye flicks his tail and gets off the bed.

I send the email, get off the bed, put my feet into my clogs, but one clog has warm liquid in it...

Popeye looks at me from the door with wide eyes...

I say my piece to him, but he puts his tail in the air and walks to the door to outside and looks at the Potting Shed....

He is now in the Potting Shed, but on the naughty step....alone...

I am now back in bed with clean feet, clogs are in the sink being washed.

And I am now going to finish my emails in peace, and if it is still daylight, I will take a book and a cuppa out there and join Popeye...

By the way he has an immaculately clean cat tray with brand new cat litter in it....so he was making a point....
Popeye sounds absolutely brilliant. I couldn't help laughing but I bet you weren't.

Love that moon/sun no matter what it gives the atmosphere of this painting.

Thanks for the compliments re my art, I have decided however I need to work at the sandstone, needs more highlights and deeper shadows, next good day we have I think a bike ride and some Plein Air painting is in order, trail is wide enough at this point for safe passing and it's so far from any houses I will see very few people.

This painting is gorgeous @geefull
I am liking your use of the St Petersburg paints.
They suit your style of painting.

Thank you for the pastel compliment. The clouds are incredibly dramatic at the moment.

Can't win em all. Tonight's family meal competition was won by my oldest grandaughter 9 years. She made a super carrot puppet out of a very orange jumper, gave it a purple cape, green hair out of felt , flying goggles and a badge.

Next weeks challenge is House Cat, chosen by my middle granddaughter.

So lots of laughs, good food, too much wine and lots of music, Calico Skies, a song by Paul McCartney was the best done by my son in law and my daughter and youngest grandaughter. mrs MC and I did an instrumental, Queen of the Fairies.

For those who may not know Calico Skies here it is, another piece done by our folk group.

Which has brought me to the many who reject the govt speak,
and righteously challenge the status quo,

That the authorities ALWAYS know best regardless of the data,
we all know about T2D,
govt data so out of step with the actual disease.

yet some of those who know that.., say GOV'T KNOWS best..*** :banghead:

Thank you antje.

As for the other.. The wall holding back water I must try and curb..to easy to speak literally as you type..my bad

And the finger p****.. ,(To suggest the word,)

Was not an insult but how an insult might be used,
Perhaps it was ill advised.

I shan't use that word again.
I hope others are as wise.

Thank you for the vigilance.
As said far too easy to fall foul of forum guidelines .
Once again thank you for the swift response

Hi,

I've seen the TED talk. The therory is pretty simple.
It seems to suggest we partially reconstruct what we see by some sort of inherrent conditioning & previous personal experience.
That does not suggest that the brain interprets correctly what is actually there. As the pizza cut red dots aligned to form a cube on a flat surface suggest. Most may well see a "cube." Some just see a simple pattern.... ;)

Cat has not looked me in the eye since he left a warm puddle in my clog yesterday afternoon when I tried to finish my email (which he went and sent before I had finished it by clambering over my device). And all because he was wanting to go in the potting shed NOW. I had said to him in a minute, But that deliberate puddle in my clog was no joke to me, and he knew he had gone too far once I put my foot in my clog.

I put him in the potting shed as he wanted. But I came back in and finished all the rest of my emails before I joined him.

He knew I was still displeased with him. And when I went to bed last night he had still not looked at me in the eye which he normally does.

Once I settled down to sleep, which is in the partial upright position anyway to breathe better. Popeye came up to my chest as he always does. Normally he lies down right into my chin to sleep.

But not last night.

He did the Vulcan mind meld all night.

He sat upright on my chest all night. You know those half a dozen whiskers above each eye on a cat? Well they were touching my forehead all night. Just the very tips of those whiskers. His face never touched mine at all. Just the whiskers.

I have no idea what he was trying to achieve with that mind meld. But I did sleep very well.
