It was a bit too cold to put him in the cage next to me on the thatched swing, the sun hasn't reached it yet, but in an hour or so the sun will reach it.

A feeling of wide open spaces and vast plains, so much movement with Just a few marks. Gave me the feeling of a sense of freedom.

a cool day here today with glimpses of sunshine through the clouds :)

Walked the village round for exercise and saw very few people.

Thank you, and so do I, have some ideas but still uncertain about either close detail or large Vista with them in, I will do lots of pencil sketches to get a feeling of layout before I start.

Your well captured highland scene, such a feeling of space and even with the cottage such desolation, what a lovely place to live.
I love visits to the highlands but Mrs MC finds the emptiness oppressive. I love moorelands, high mountain ridges, Mrs MC likes wooded valleys and rolling hills, so I supposed we get the best of both worlds as a couple.

It didn't take very long to do.

I keep on working and working with the pastels on the clouds, and I just don't want to stop. I probably do too much on the clouds sometimes.

These trees seemed to generate their own light, these are just Sketchbook paintings ready for a larger set of paintings for my next series of 3, not exactly sun sets but late evening sun probably called 'Last Light of the Day'.
So three trees 2 Larger than A5 and 1 A4. Took about 15 minutes for each one, working on all at the same time as I let the layers of watercolour dry on each in turn.

I like all of these paintings, but the first and last are my favorites. The last one reminds me of being in Sherwood Forest when I was a child, so I like that one the best :)

Clear night sky. Twinkling stars.
Watched the dawn.
Wrote a To Do List
Ignored To Do List
Went in garden with cuppa and sat on thatched swing.
Watched the sky with fluffy pink cotton wool clouds.
Did some weeding.
Back in bed (to warm up) with a cuppa and some cashews for breakfast.
Sun is just reaching the tips of my trees in my garden.
It is now 6:18 am

Normally I would go for a drive this time of day, at this time of year and watch a sunrise from somewhere, even as far as the Lake District (leaving at 2am). But unfortunately not in these times.

Going out to do my pastel painting now.

Good Morning and 6.5 for me this morning.

Once again I have no idea what is in store today. Frightening really, Mrs MC sasked me yesterday "if you could do anything you wanted, go anywhere today what would you do?" And you know I actually could not on the spur of the moment think of anything, worrying.

So keep doing what you do, ponder on less perilous times and work for a better future. Take care.
 
5.4 this morning. Kept carbs below 20g yesterday - they had crept up to around 27g over the past few days which always results in higher BSs

Part 2 of my Zoom course this morning. All I have to do is to remember to plug the webcam into the computer and take the webcam cover off before I start.
 
Good morning everyone. 5.8 :bigtears::bigtears: - other, perhaps more important?, key metrics in a much better place. This is like a poor score and weak dismissal after a good run of form. Today doesn't negate my approach but I need to accept errors and conditions can sometimes produce sub-optimal outcomes. Season and career average in all conditions against all opponents really matter. Anyhow, today is both a lesser festival (Martryrs of English Reformation) and Waitrose delivery day so a whoopin an a hollerin an a ropin of the hogs is needed. That's what being sandwiched twixt 2 US service families does to a body. Stay safe - it will help the narrative as much as anything else.

Good morning everyone from a distinctly pluvial feel in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of chorizo stew with shredded cauliflower leaves came in at 5.2 this am

I have been on video ga ga, video goo goo, video bla bla, with Little Miss Pamplemouse and the twins, Choas and Mayhem since 0730 - phone sat next to me as I type. They are currently singing songs round the table, eating yoghurts and asking their mum for pancakes of all things - crazy kids. I know it’s a bit early but I wanted to be up early to get a towel on a sofa before anyone else bagged one.

Seeds all watered, sprouts rinsed, chillies for the sriracha stirred. The kefir looks promising, patience my boy. So, that’s my to done list out of the way and it’s not even 0800 yet.

Lockdown reggae dub burgers tonight in a spicy chilli pepper and ginger marinade and a Caribbean slaw to the music of Bill Bailey’s Downton Abbey Jamaican Dub Reggae Version.

Have the most wonderful day that you can. Play wid puppy dawg, puppy dawg lick yuh face. Play wid big dawg, big dawg bite yuh…koffy time.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are having slight sanity problems during lockdown.

Ah the benefits of having a late roast lamb dinner last night, what benefits you might ask, a 8.5 is an answer, no hugs required, I just don't handel ( other composer's available ) fats well.

An old friend popped up for a koffy this morning to see how I was copeing with lockdown, we kept the required 6 feet apart, shame he's gone now, before Mrs J emerges from her pit / lair.

Pastel painting done this glorious springtime morning.
It was pretty pink clouds, but now we have just a plain bright blue sky. I should have waited, it would have taken me all but a few minutes to do the plain blue sky. Instead it took me nearly two hours to do this one.

Motto learnt: Leave it and wait and the easy solution/painting will always come along, or just sit and enjoy your cuppas and gaze into the distance. You can always cloudwatch. J and I used to go out to the island, stay on the island between tides, lie on the grass and cloud watch the next few hours. It is amazing what you can see...
