What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A new twist, the govt sent me an SMS saying that I had been moved to the clinically extremely vulnerable list and would be calling shortly. I did check and it is for real so I was all set to receive the call.

Shortly after the phone goes and thinking it is them I am surprised to find it is my doctor checking on me. We had a conversation about the above but he wanted my next of kin details.

I think I need to pack a bag and delete my browser history :bag:;)

hahaha.... snigger snigger...:hilarious:

Well i suppose sorry to hear that, BUT they are taking precautions which does sound good.

Perhaps it's time to consider, what they are suggesting for some schools, that they re-purpose other suitable building, where they can more easily maintain the social distancing..?

To whit..holiday camps for those particularity impacted.

Butlins etc..double the perimeter fences, strict quarantine at gates..PPE, Delivery protocols etc.
staff with those also in a vulnerable age group, perhaps those unsuited to going back to work, hospitality staff maybe ?
volunteers etc, all willing to under go some sort of testing, covid/anti body.
and all willing to sign up to live on site for an extended period of time.

with so many sites unused at the moment, it would benefit all to have them used in some way.

This offers Social & security benefits for those more able enough to mobilise, who don't need excess medical support,
prevent some mental health issues by allowing plenty of access to the large sites cordoned off open areas.

to keep it even more tighter, perhaps keep each block as a school house, sort of thing and make that the social bubble until the proof comes 21 days in, (maybe) all are covid free..

It would free up the family members who want/need to and can go to work without the excess worry of infecting loved ones.
and if partners wanted to join them, they under go a strict quarantine procedure nearby and when tested as safe, allowed to enter on probation period.

None of this is forever, but with summer coming, the lock down easing up, and many finding themselves more alone & perhaps cut off, from society,
( think how many in the big cities ? )
it might be away to escape some of the pressures of continued lock down, & ease family concerns

thinking outside the box..agree..but we are going to have to be more inventive at least in the short term, as to do otherwise we just bounce back and forward into and out of some from of lock down ,
until all those more vulnerable die before the vaccine OR herd immunity, is acquired ?

So it's a Sunday Friday, i'm told..did check but could be fake news.

and a semblance of normal today.

BG 6.1
temp 36.4

Meds remembered and taken..:bag:;)

sunny but breezy here in the capital, and like the president.
i have a positive negative, negative positive feeling about today

a very vicky pollard moment..
and hes got the 'GO' codes for nuclear war...:wideyed:.

6.2 this morning and the rains have thankfully arrived ;)

Garden drama yesterday evening when her ladyship was frantic because a cat had attacked our robins' nest. She had chased the cat off but the two fledgelings were hopping around on the floor.

So I trundled off to find the nest. Dad robin is a friend and spends a lot of time with me when I am turning over the borders and weeding, so he's now flying and chirping like mad. Eventually found the nest thanks to mom hidden in the eaves of the covered bar-b-q area. Totally wrecked by the cat there was no way the family was moving back so I then had to build temporary accommodation for them.

One of the chicks was traumatised and I'm not sure if it will make it, the other is a right feisty little monkey. I'm hoping they'll be ok but I'm aware that nature doesn't roll the dice the way we always want it to.

The culprit is a Bengal cat named Tansy from over the back. Normally she doesn't hunt in the gardens here, just uses them to sunbathe. So I may have to put a notice up warning the squirrels and birds that she has changed her pattern.

nice work, @Alien Aspie ...Good man, you.

ah the Bengal..sure i mentioned earlier we had our cat, missus is a cat nut.
this Bengal started appearing in our street..so we fed it and sort of adopted it for a bit,
then one night one of us ..thought it was a good idea to bring it in to say hello, to belles...AGGHH.

we got it out, quick enough but it wasn't pretty.

so it was an orphan once more.

nice lady spotted it got chatting to missus, said she had to go to wales but would be back in a month or two to collect it, could we keep it safe, feed and look after it until then.

clearly a nut job but we did as asked, (would have been doing it anyway ) and refused the money offered.

lo and behold a month later she's back with transport and a cat box.
eventually cat trapped..so NOT happy.

and she takes him off to vets who i suspect detached a few bits.

lady send updates and pics to missus, cat doing very well, clearly well loved by the lady who it turns out wasn't such a nut job after all

So windy dry non Muddy Bike Ride was good, bike shop now open on the visitor centre at Cannock Chase, mad busy and zilch social distancing, so from here on Self Risk Assessing seems the only way forward.

Oh @ianpspurs out of interest FBG 6 before breakfast 5.8 breakfast was ham, cheese, slice of Skinny Bread, Greek Yogurt and seeds, almonds, 2 black coffee. BG 2 hours after including 1 hour Mountain Bike Ride 6.2.

Not a lot of time so a quick watercolour sketch to try a different approach to reflections of a pool I pass Fair Oak Pools on Cannock Chase, there are more pine trees than I show. A4 20 minutes. I am going to do a proper watercolour painting in this stile probably over the weekend.

Family meal get ready time now....

Now, I love this one, and the treatment of the water. The whole watercolour is good @Muddy Cyclist

Brilliant art and thank you for the information. Plenty of protein in that breakfast and interesting there was a sight fall? can't work out when the 5.8 was. How soon after completing the ride did you test and how quickly did it come down?

Was 4,6 this morning.

This afternoon I attended the funeral of an old friend not in person as under lock down even if I had been able to drive down to Plymouth only about four to six people can physically be present so the service was web cast so we could take part even if only remotely.

So sad that even though a very popular and colourful person there were just a handful of people attending.

Too tired to do anything much today after queuing this morning for the Post Office. Slept quite a bit. Cat slept with me.

So for my painting today, it is far far too windy to do anything outside.
And brain was too scrambled to do a physical painting.
But I played with a new app (actually it is a very old app which doesn't work properly, but I like the effects it does, and I cannot find a current comparable app). But I lost my picture I drew it twice before I figured it out. This is the third attempt.

App is called Pro FPaint

It is all I can do today.

Here it is...

5.8 was before breakfast so it dropped from 6 fasting reading. I tested about 40 minutes after finishing exercise to get the 6.2. Cheese salad for lunch, Did not test again until now, 5.4 before evening meal, tonight Pork Chop Cassrolled in oven with green veg and a few potatoes. Then low carb blackberry. Rumble with yogurt. Family just rung so off for family meal.

Thanks for that. Those numbers look good to me - when, in theory, is your next A1c due?

Me too but I'm told men only have a limited amount of hormones. If people waste their's on growing hair we may be having a better time:angelic:
Shall I pass that on to Mr K. On second thoughts ,- perhaps not as it might make him even more fed up.

This one is really good. It's perfect.

Have booked a slot in the car park at Blickling Hall for next Tuesday. I am so looking forward to walking around the grounds. They are severely limiting visitors so hopefully it will be safe. It will be so lovely to get out into the countryside.

well an interesting day.

late start so out on Pablo for a quick spin..
ended up in a M&S petrol station getting essentials, officer.:bag:

and run out took me to the cemetery to see mum & dads grave and have a few peaceful moments

then back home to the latest street party, bless em.
sure they'll all be clapping like loons next Thursday on the last clap for Boris.

so lock down over ?, well in London..if the signs are neighbours having a wino moment in the street and queues for the car wash, it seems so.

Wasn't for me, admittedly, but can't work out whether to be indignant or accepting of the new social norms..mmhh

5.3 this morning. Trying to think of something interesting or funny to say but to be honest day has just been as mundane as all other days recently. Highlight this morning was a visit to B and Q. We needed some connectors for the garden hose. Got there, around 08:30 to find a snaking queue 3 rows deep - everyone self distancing. Shop was only letting in a few people as others were leaving. It was quite a good experience though as we could shop at leisure without anyone invading our space.

This week, but they refuse to do it saying they are not taking anyone's for the foreseeable future. I am also due an annual checkup and review, they are not doing those either. I am getting a telephone consultation on Thursday 28th May with a nurse. One of the questions I was asked by the receptionist was are your blood sugars under control? "How would I know the Diabetic Doctor told me not to test" I replied. Hopeless we are on our own as with many things in these strange times.
The worry is I have been having more problems with what I think is Neuropathy of my feet, last HbA1c was 42 so on the better side but bearing in mind I was Type 2 for 5 years without being told and ate very large carb meals I do worry.
