What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning all. Gorgeous day in prospect here. Cloudless sky and Sunny Mc Sunnyface here all week. Tough gig eh? 4.7 at 6.03 today - Libre showed dawny p making a strong appearance around usual waking time. Now 4.9 1 h/b egg and 800 mls tea later. Golf range went well yesterday - that is set up to be socially distanced. Sat in their garden for a tea with my boys but we were well separated. I had mask/face covering but notably no one else - except staff - did. Not as riotous as your experience @Muddy Cyclist but enough to make me suspect the odds of wave #2 shorten daily. Enjoy whatever you do today safely and mindful of the safety of others.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. Been a bit busy recently and still busy.

Blood sugars Friday 5.7
Saturday 6.2
Sunday 6.9
Well folks make the most of what you can, extract humour from every situation, it's there, but sometimes needs looking for.
Enough of my sanctimonious preaching, well it is Sunday, me, me's and Mrs J are orf to block pavements, make hedge trimming noises, prune trees, but first and foremost, the elixir of life. Koffy.
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone from another damp start in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of a balti curry sitting atop a generous cauliflower bhaji came in at 5.2 this am.

38 years ago today I arrived in Port Stanley and took up lodgings, with two other guys, in a garden shed overlooking the racecourse. It would still be another week or so before there was any sniff of a shower. Stripping down in sub zero temperatures to wash with a mess tin of water and a face cloth is something done quite quickly.

Have the very best day that you can. Mine will be starting with some koffy.

5.6 again this morning. Relaxing as usual with a coffee.

We are dog walking later than usual this morning as we are all feeling very lazy - even the dogs are snoozing.

We will be walking in Poppy Wood sometime later this morning - a.lovely little wood that was maintained by Bernard Matthews. Not sure who looks after it now.

Good Morning and 5.7 for me today.

Well social bubble madness. My son and his girls asked Mrs M C and I to go on a bike ride yesterday afternoon. Pre bike ride problems should have been a warning not to go. Sons peddle came loose less than 10 metres from our home, my bag zip burst trying to find a tool to fix it, returned home, made repair, changed bag. Set out again and about 2 miles away realised I had not got my house keys in pocket, phoned neighbour, keys in front door which was wide open. Carried on to Cannock Chase. CROWDS!! It was like Blackpool Prom on the busiest of days. We found what we though was a quiet spot for a picnic. People with dogs just allowed them to walk amongst us sniffing food, not just a few but this happened 12 times. No one apologised, no one even tried to control the dogs, even when asked to, nightmare, I had to physically hold my son or there would have been a few punches thrown. As for social distancing, forget it. I really risked assess this outing badly, no more weekend activity for me, staying firmly in our garden, there seems to be less and less respect of any kind and where have all these people suddenly appeared from? Cannock Chase was always quiet other than the odd Bank Holiday.

So no painting again yesterday, loft, bike ride, family time, mobile provider problems took up the day.

@gennepher nice Pastel like the colours in this one very much.

@geefull Super watercolour a real strong and well painted picture.

More loft work required, I am really struggling with it I think we might have to call in a professional some time in the future to do a proper job, how worrying is that virus wise? Still for now I won't have to balance on a chair to open it so safer.

Stay in, stay safe, be amazing.

Thank you for the painting compliment @Muddy Cyclist

I think you are going to have to do cycle rides very early for the foreseeable future, and have an early breakfast picnic....

It is sad about the selfishness of others, and also their out of control dogs.

Morning...shattered today exhausting day working yesterday began at 06:35 & finished at 22:30...just a day of lounging & snoozing a little more coffee then sofa time...woke to 6.5

Ahh, welcome to.post normal.

Much as I love dogs,. And have partaken of the outdoors exercise pre lockdown, it has taken me aback at the childlike qualities many now seem to have in everyday activities.

I'll bet for the dog.owners what WAS a given for profuse apologies for the dogs intrusion, is now the childlike wonder that you don't ENJOY one of god's creatures trying to join you for lunch...

And the runners etc,. Would be the incredulity that YOU would NOT KNOW that the
SD 2 metres, doesn't apply to runners,

So of course brushing past your shoulder while gasping for air, at less then a foot, is perfectly acceptable.

Beginning to see this covid virus impact us in many ways, lungs, blood and I suspect mental awareness of risks to others.

I suppose the more data we see, the more we confirm our own bias, by picking the bits we see as relevant from our viewpoint.

One pointed out to me was the death's below age 60 are only 4,000, something

I mean how on earth is it ever "Only 4k dead" could even be used as a positive.
But I guess that does make some feel it's not "really" dangerous OR applicable to them.

They were a bit deflated when I mentioned that is still 10% of the government's numbers (40k)

But if you look at the ONS overall death rate 65k last time I looked, I'd imagine that 4k is higher,
then add in the debilitation many SEEM to suffer over many months and potentially over many years

And I think it becomes clearer it is
a disease worth avoiding.

Until proven otherwise, I am going to allow others to be my plague canaries, and will protect myself as best I can, until the 'R' and infections ACTUALLY DO become low.

Hugs for the loft doodah.
No harm trying, we won't get everything right.

But we do now have the worry if workmen need to attend, how we cope with that.
Sure you will, distance, masks when needed & handwashing will see you well protected.

Good luck with the day.
Sure post normal will settle down at some stage.....I hope.

Started some front garden pruning early before the neighbours get up, because social distancing is nil here in this road. Came in when I saw the first dog walker coming towards me...

Did a quick painting. I found a piece of Chinese rice paper for painting while tidying up yesterday. I do have some rolls of this paper somewhere, but I haven't found them yet.

I used my Japanese fude pens, and some coloured brush pens. And a brush pen of water.
So, cherry blossom...

I still have a lot of stuff I am sure I have, and I need to find it. And sort it all. Because shops are not open in Wales (apart from food shops), there are no little shops or charity shops selling postcards to do my Postcrossing. I badly need to make and create postcards. Other Postcrossers are having the same problems. And yesterday I received a treasured postcard from a Postcrosser in Mexico. She was out of postcards because all shops shut with the Coronavirus, so she sent me a treasured one of hers. I sort of feel sad she has done that, but very honoured too.

So I need to see if she will send me her address (you are sent postcards by random people, and you don't know their address unless you private message and ask...).

So my next lot of drawings and paintings are going to be working towards postcard sized designs.

Anyway...cherry tree.

By the way the creases (from the paint and water on the paper) come out of the paper when you paste it on the white Queen Anne card. But I am not sure you can buy Queen Anne card any more. And the colour turns out more intense. So I need wallpaper paste, Queen Anne card, and a Lino roller...where is my Lino roller?

Oh, and I need to find my piece of paper Cathy Wu, my Chinese teacher, wrote my name on in Chinese, so I could sign my paintings. So much stuff to find...I do live in Dr Who's Tardis by the way....

Thanks kind sir, I agree with you on these points but I'm not convinced post normal will settle back to anything very safe. I'm really angry with myself over yesterday's poor risk assessing but I sure did not expect to see so many people out in very large groups.
As for loft hatch, it will pass for now. I have a nephew who is a self employed carpenter and it may be safer health wise to ask him to install a completely new hatch and loft ladder, but not yet.

An earlish start here .
6.1
Temp.
36.3

Out on scooter after collection yesterday.
A two hour ride around some of London not being demonstrated in.

Traffic MUCH busier.
And when I got to sheen, OMG gridlock.

Bank holiday style traffic akin to a seaside resort. A good few miles of traffic jams

And People...everywhere
Pavements thronged by queues for coffee, supermarkets .etc

Every green space I passed on my run out, chock-a-block with people enjoying the sun.

Enjoy & take care all.
Post normal is going to take some getting used to ...:sorry:

@gennepher thats very good, love it, brilliant art work. Do you think all us artists have chaotic storage and workspaces?:joyful: Mrs MC is constantly trying to get mine tidier and so much art materials are hidden, lost or just forgotten but it is fun stumbling on them from time to time.

Thank you very much for the compliment @Muddy Cyclist

I think we do. J was completely chaotic, you would walk into his art room and you would not have a clue. There was everything everywhere, but he did know where everything was.

I want to try make some more order in my bungalow for the painting and stuff. But I also have a garage which is a huge painting studio. It has large paintings there and I do need to get that tidied up so I can get in there better, because I've used it as a bit of a dumping ground the last few months.

No one should tidy up your art studio!!!!!!!!!!!!

My mother taught Chinese brush painting this was a wonderful reminder of how beautiful this style of art is.

I am in the potting shed with Popeye, and there's the most amazing thunderstorm raging around us. It is heckishly loud. Sounds like it's right above me and around me. It just sounded like a sky full of firecrackers just now.

Popeye's sound asleep, not the least bit bothered.

It has just given a cracking noise that sounded like the end of the world.

And now the driving rain. I would most certainly not like to be out driving in this rainfall.

I may be wrong but I think it might be passing away now. The thunder is still very loud and I really enjoyed that. It is like being at sea in a pirate ship in my wooden shed.

I did hear some motorcyclists go out on their bikes from this road just before the thunder started, so I have absolutely no idea how they fared in this storm...

The thunderstorm usually gives one last parting shot of noise and I'm still waiting for it...but I think it has gone now.

When the rain stops me and him will go in back in the bungalow for a cup of tea, and him for his food.

Update: I knew it would, it gave one last rumble of thunder, like a long fArt.....
