Good morning all. I have no reliable fbg as new sensors always give comedy readings despite sitting on my arm for 36 hrs. Plenty of strips, 2 meters but blow that for a game of soldiers. I slept 8 hrs - unheard of- and Spurs won away (must be my Spurs facemask) so all good. We went to Ely yesterday and I would guesstimate 40% wearing masks in the streets. 66% in Fatface (Julie and myself) 100% in The Grape Tree (us) Closer to 70% in Waitrose and a good percentage gloved as well. Maybe being 6 foot tall and carrying a brolly (sideways) helps social distancing. Watching the comings and goings in Iceland looked like 0% masked. Thought about Starbucks but we had taken coffee as their website said Ely outlet closed. Saved £25 on salmon and duck breasts so very blessed (4 short ribs for £3 - bargain even if we give them to the dogs)

This morning started up computer ready to ring my computer people. Outlook started perfectly. Rang computer people anyway and they said that it wasn't my computer it was Outlook and the problem is worldwide.

Outlook have done an update that has caused the problems and I did the right thing by staring it in safe mode which does seem to resolve the problem when you next switch on the computer. So that was sorted really quickly. So pleased that it wasn't my computer.

Morning...an couple of exciting day a shopping delivery expected between 10-12 today followed by Bin Day tomorrow hopefully followed by a Hermes delivery who have taken almost 12 days to deliver a package...I rang them to complain had to pay per minute & listen to their slow labourious menu before I could get through...customer services say they will get back to me in a couple of days I say no I need the info today or will no longer shop with this company...a letter of complaint will follow not good enough...I have been so appreciative of all the other delivery services operating in this crisis apart from them...not a bad sleep stayed up late binge watching the new BBC2 series Mrs America dirty politics at it's best...I see Chris Grayling failed to get himself elected as chair to the security committee made me laugh apparently he didn't see the challenge from his colleague coming ...well clearly an indicator he wasn't right for the post of chair of the Intelligence & Security Committee :D:D:Dwoke to a 6.8

Woke up at 4am to a 5.9, I have done my gardening duties for the day and I have a quick run out for her ladyship before claiming the day as my own :)

Hi, this was the response from MS this morning...

"There is a new symptom of Outlook crashing on launch starting on 7/15/2020. A fix has been published but will take time to propagate to worldwide availability. Outlook will automatically look for the fix on launch, so if this issue persists through multiple launches please use Outlook Web Access (or your providers webmail interface) for an hour then try again."

This is a nightmare as a lot of people use Outlook. When I looked on the internet yesterday Microsoft were not admitting to a problem. I am so.pleased they are now.

Lots of chatter around 2nd wave and anything we have learned. This was worth a read IMHO: Katrina Purcell quoted in https://www.telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness/body/lose-weight-second-wave-dr-michael-mosley/ "results show that achieving a weight loss target is more likely, and drop-out is lower, if losing weight is done quickly;" "Most rapid weight loss studies are now based on 800 calories a day, which is high enough to be sustainable and give the nutrients you need, and low enough to lead to rapid weight loss and other beneficial health changes. Rapid weight loss encourages your body to switch over to fat burning. It also reduces insulin levels, increases growth hormone and boosts levels of a hormone called BDNF in the brain, which helps improve your mood. " Sceptic about LCHF I may be but one good A1c and I may convert:angelic: (I lost weight rapidly in 2015 on LC and it has stayed off - lower now actually)

"......Morning all.

a pleasant morning so far.
well it was....

Dropped her Maj off to work, nice little run out.

Back for FBG of 6.1, temp check 35.8

Back out on Pablo..( preferred travel for town.. parking IS such a doddle ..;):D )
LIDL...few shoppers in it, a nice refreshing walk around.
Got what i needed, so i won't need to go there too soon, but it was all quite proper.

Bad moment, got home putting foods away
put driving glasses up on shelf, with that little doubt then might fall off, ...but inner me, said "worry wart, you'll be fine, silly "

sure

so glasses as you've probably guessed fell, as i turned to step away.

i missed my catch, glasses fumbled out of my hands and heading for floor, so i step forward to catch.....as ya do

and they hit a bucket edge, so got redirected, right under my moving foot as i stepped towards where i thought they WOULD land.....:wideyed:

'Crunch'.....:woot:

frame metal, but screws snapped on the arm, and glass fell out. :arghh:

glass all good, just need to unscrew snapped screw, find a replacement and see it it will screw into the frame rim as before.

so yeah..Meh.

Have a good day all.

....Survivor Eleventy Million & 66 out...

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, a busy Morening here in the land of do as told NOW, this afternoon does not seem much betterer, sympathy not required, just a glass of red tonight.
A 5.5 on that meter of mystery and naughtiness this morning.

I see the Boris the beast bashers are out and about, along with the none mask wearing, head in the sand brigade. Makes for interesting reading, I like science fiction and fantasy.
Have a good afternoon, remember come the revolution, I just wish I could remember.......

I am the exclusive, only member of the mask wearing society in this area.

I had to go to my bank this morning for some things to sort out. So, I did all my shopping at the local shops, (I live in Wales).

So far this morning, I have had quite a few derisory looks at my mask, and some sniggers. There was some few hundred people about.

Oh, by the way...
Social distancing - nil
Keep 6 ft apart (or 2metres) - nil

And, it's now hands on rugby tackle to anyone, or the physical shoulder shove by the person behind you, to get you out of the way, if you spend too long looking at an item in the aisle.

Oh, and the barber's shops here, there are no screens round the customers, and no wearing of masks. It is business as normal, as pre-covid 19. I saw a total of 5 such barbers shops.

I have saved the best til last.

A stranger, a guy, stood in front of me and burst out laughing. "You are not still wearing a mask, are you?" he said, carrying on laughing. So, I laughed with him, and replied, "And I am going to carry on wearing a mask." And I walked away laughing. His mate gave me daggers looks.

Then I looked at the bus coming into the bus stop. It has just come out of England, into Wales. You are not allowed to get on the bus unless you wear a mask. And yes, everyone had a mask, but their masks were all hanging round their necks??? Not covering their nose nor mouth. Nor was there any social distancing on the bus. I stare at them. Some stare back at me. My brain was half expecting them to turn in unison, and stare at me momentarily, then turn back and look forwards again...

I am home now, knackered. In bed. A long afternoon nap I need....

I feel like I am in an apocalypse movie...

I feel for you. Perhaps you could substitute the word lockdown into the "song there may be trouble ahead".

Have a look at the Darwin Awards on Google.

On the way back from MILs Mrs MC wanted to visit Dunelm as we passed through Cannock to get some cushion inards for some embroidered covers she had made. I said she should wear a mask out of respect for others. On returning she said she was the only person in the store wearing one and got many strange looks and even felt some groups of shoppers were sniggering at her and she felt a proper Charlie. I noticed on the shopping centres car park no one going in any of the stores had masks or social distanced. Cannock could be following on the heals of Leicester.
I must have been out when you visited.

Later than a late thing in Late Town today in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of home made burgers on home made bread came in at 5.2 this am

Granddaughter number 5 has been here all day, mostly sat in the garden - now having her afternoon nap. She will be heading home at about 1630 and back again tomorrow for extra fun.
Chaos and Mayhem (aged 3) went to meet their new nursery teacher today and look around the class room - they start in September. Teacher very confused with identically dressed identical twins, each swapping names using some form of demented algorithm.

Bread making on the go so only time for a few scraps of time on the Zen app.
Hope your day is going well. Afternoon koffy time.
