good morning all
4.5 today
Just catching up on the thread takes a while

I've got Mum's cold and a thick head together with a stonking coldsore at the moment which is cramping my style a bit

haven't had a coldsore for ages.
In other news we had a nice barbeque in mum's garden yesterday dodging between the showers, chicken and heck sausages were suitably frizzled
It's been wet all morning and now it's cheering up a bit so hopefully we will manage a walk later without getting too soggy
Hope your day is treating you well
@JohnEGreen - lovely heron pictures
@gennepher - I'm so glad that your eye appointment worked out so well, all these delayed tests and appts. because of covid are extra stress inducing aren't they

I like your bird and the background textures are a nice addition. Your latest painting is a joyful, colourful thing
@SlimLizzy - glad you're feeling a bit more grounded, a great shame that your trip has been cancelled though
@dunelm - Your layering is interesting and the are some interesting 'brushes' out there. the waterfall is very effective and your blossom painting feels very 'free', I particularly like your landscape sky and foreground, it looks like a lovely area to walk in
@Alien Aspie - hugs for the breathing restriction, hope it settles for you soon. What an accomplished set of pet portraits and how well they convey their personalities

Our pets have such an impact on our lives.
@Muddy Cyclist - that was an interesting start to the finished watercolour. It's amazing how much the feeling of a picture can change with each addition in context, the beginning felt quite reflective and the finished painting joyful. Interesting texture given by the 'paintbrush'
art bit -
using layers looks like an interesting way of working. I don't know whether I have the discipline to have all those layer and brush choices, I have enough trouble with one layer and a couple of brushes and picking one colour at a time

Could be fun though
no 1 - just some cloud studies comparing materials
the first one is done in watercolour pencils, second in inktense pencils and the third in watercolour.
