What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Okay painting done for today.
It is based on some graffiti art that was painted on the Duke of Lancaster some years ago. All the graffiti round the ship has been painted over with black now...sad.
The other graffiti was easy to photograph through the barbed wire. Not so this one. It faced the sea. So, batty old lady on crutches negotiating barbed wire and a possible Alsatian guard dog (the warning said Guard Dogs but I have only ever seen one before...) and security cameras trained on her, broke in to get my photos of this graffiti lady. These photos are precious to me.

I always wanted to do my interpretation of this one in a painting, and now I have. Over 20 layers in Procreate.

4.3 the lowest ever since coming off insulin. Not expecting any more 4s this week as dinners will be much later for the rest of the week.

Lovely to see daughter and family again after all this time. We are off to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve this morning. Luckily it's not raining today.

That's very impressive all the hard work paying off, brilliant.

I seemed to have halted at 12 stone, I was 11stone 7lbs before lockdown, went a tad over 12 stone during it. Up to now I have not had to count the calories just carbs. I think the times come to take note of your example and look at my calorie intake, not going to be easy.
Cutting calories and keeping carbs really low worked surprisingly well!. I just couldn't face going back to work with all my classes thinking OMG hasn't our teacher put on weight.

Good morning all and my fbg was 5.2 today without a convincing explanation. One, all or none of sensor ending tomorrow, red wine and red meat yesterday or minor sniffles? Feel I over shared yesterday, sorry. Great artwork since last peeped in @geefull @Muddy Cyclist and @gennepher. Thanks for sharing the music @lindisfel. Massive praise for weight loss and stellar fbg @Krystyna23040 and cherish the time with daughter and grandchildren even if some slipage occurs in weight and fbg. The latter can be rectified as you have shown - time with loved ones can't be spent later.

Thank you - I am sure you are right and I have already burned off a significant amount of fat around my liver and pancreas. I think I would like to lose a bit more weight just in case there is more lurking there.
There are some compelling arguments around the idea that eating to your meter is a better bet than trying to keep your blood sugars flat all day. Here is an article that you may find interesting, https://optimisingnutrition.com/wan...-blood-sugars-your-cgm-is-making-you-fat/amp/

You are so right - I must stop stressing out about any slippage and relax and enjoy granddaughter 's visit.

Some amazing graffiti was created on that old ship. Your digital rendition of the Japanese lady is very good and sounds like a lot of technical skill and endurance was needed to produce it.

Good morning everyone from a very damp morning in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of paprika chicken Heck sausages (2.4% carbs) found in Aldi crossed the line at 4.7 this am

Managed a couple of hours out on my bike yesterday and although the day looked very gloomy, it did not rain until well into the afternoon.
The preparations for MIL’s move is going apace - all carpets that are staying have now been cleaned, fitters coming in on Wednesday to fit replacements, fresh paint added, stardrops flashed onto surfaces and inside cupboards and drawers. Some unpacking of things already transported today. Her move date is a week today so everything moving along nicely.

@geeful - thank you for your comments and glad that you liked it. Rabbits, rabbits - a fine illustration for any Rabbit laden book - made me smile.

@Muddy Cyclist - thanks, yes that leap of faith is not called so for nothing. I have seen planes flying below, Buccaneers, but that may have been up the Lairig Ghru in the Cairngorms. your sketches look promising - the middle one caught my eye.

@gennepher - lovely back story to your sad subject and an excellent piece of graffiti. Manga hero? 20+ layers - you must be exhausted.

A walk that we like doing close to home is up Roseberry Topping and over to Captain Cook monument. An interesting hill with a pagan name that originally was something like Othenesberg. A collapse due to a geological fault or possibly mining gives it a distinctive look.

Koffy on the go, have a wonderful day if you can.

Thank you very much @dunelm
:)
I will get to do that Manga one-day!

I love your painting. It reminds me of walks J and I did in the Peak District decades ago. I was always photographing lone hawthorn trees.

7.20 am FBG 5.4 that's with no little naughties yesterday.
@jjraak You were right about the laptop chair. But he is currently sleeping there with my approval. For one thing the online game event ended about two weeks ago, so chair is used less by me. For another, this very nervous cat has started to develop obsessive grooming. Which is apparently the feline equivalent of thumb sucking or hair twiddling. Seems it can be triggered by changes in routine, esp adding new members to the household and although the cat seemed to cope with MrSlims arrival, even choosing his company if I am not around, there were significant changes to our daily routine. Add to that a builder coming in and lots of disturbances.
The box by the door probably felt a bit exposed to the cat. Who has now revealed that it is male. Everyone referred to it as she, so we assumed that was correct. Took months before it started greeting us with upraised tail. Still has no name, fortunate in a way.

perhaps we should take a muse each as there are enough of us and interpret in our own styles? ;)
That's not a bad idea, I will get the next heather painting out of my system and start scribbling some ideas. Are the other painters, scribblers, zen artists and procreate artists up for it?

Maybe I could have Euterpe, I did have to look up the muse for music, not that knowledgeable. :)

Interesting and time consuming. It won't please the purists on this here forum. The suggestions that keto popularity is declining won't go down well - the graph to support that assertion was flaky at best - and fat is not your friend will raise hackles. Anyone else find the most parsimonious take away from this and the links was aim for protein and fibre - which is where I started my journey 5 years ago and lost 27% of peak body weight- not artificially stuffing in fat? Or is my takeaway just confirmation bias? Oh, great artwork young sir.

@Krystyna23040 @Muddy Cyclist I too discovered the need to count, or at least consider calories, but for the opposite reason. This is why I now drink CWC three times a day. But finding the balance between stable weight and good BG is very tricky.
MrSlim did joke that he would soon be able to post me under the bank door when I was at my lowest weight.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who ate cheese just before going to bed.

A 7.2 this morning, thank you cheese and thank you for the weird dreams.

Been absent from posting for the last couple of days, life, the universe and motorcycle are my excuses.
A day of administration is planned for today, but as with life things change.
Well folks have a great day and avoid the media if possible, oh and hamsters.
