What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The bad weather has gone through and the clouds are breaking. We have a day of sun, light clouds and the odd shower later this pm.

Zoom church this am and chatting with others afterwards in a breakout room which is a sort of blind socialising.

Have a good and peaceful day everyone.
D.

Morning all. I rather pigged out on posts yesterday - but nothing else - so must stay away more today. Great Cliff (s) @geefull congratulations. Non testing goes on for a while but other data very much in the zone, as it were. Even had a glass of red wine last evening and resting pulse now back to where I want to be. One reason I have avoided red wine was I sometimes noticed it appeared to take my resting pulse over 60. I do now wonder just how much I should care about fbg and A1c beyond being in non D band and no complications. Everything I measure and Docs measure shows I am in better condition blood work wise than either my father or grandfather at 65. Just the back - gestational so not my fault- stops me being so strong and offends my ego greatly. Have a great day and shelter from the storm - I love that tune (lyrics). Here's an analysis which typifies why I found English A level and English graduates impossible to take seriously. Have spiffing days chums - hold the ginger beer for me (or anything ginger flavoured actually)
I hope they never let them loose on Biblical exegesis? :)

5.1 this morning. Managed to get dogs walked before the rain started. We cancelled our tickets to Oxburgh because of the weather and will have a relaxing day at home instead.

Might also manage to get completely up to date with admin.

Fbg 6.5

I am falling asleep now between 6 and 8 pm. I do that these dark nights. Pretty soon I will be in hibernation...
But on the plus side I wake up around 3am (apart from when the cat wakes me up for food in the meantime, it's no problem as I need the bathroom anyway).
And my brain is pretty much always alert and raring to go at 3 am, so done loads, kitchen cleaned and sorted, my desk sorted, and more. And my painting for today.

I was playing in SketchClub this morning for a couple of hours trying different brushstokes and effects. And with playing between different apps I then realise what the same/similar thing was in Procreate. They are all laid out differently with different names in different apps, and some apps are more intuitive than others.

Although I was playing for a couple of hours, I think this one took me about 15/20 minutes. There is no reasoning or meaning behind it. Some people when I post my work elsewhere ask what the meaning is when it is not a realistic digital work. And ask me to explain!!! Does one explain one's artwork? I do actually, because I am polite (usually, not always).

Actually there is no explanation as such, just my processes of thought as I do it.

Processes of thought for this were:
*Explore the tools in SketchClub
*The thought of Manga came to mind, because I would like to do that some time
*Explore what brush strokes would accommodate the fill tool. Because some apps are unforgiving and if you have a gap in the line, then the whole page can get filled in with the colour and wipe out your sketch just about. This happens in Sketch Club, so I need to find which brush stroke will allow the fill tool. Even fine lines in Sketch Club, although not broken, don't allow for the fill tool and it bleeds through. There are other apps which, are much more forgiving, even if you have a break in the line, and assume you meant the line to be unbroken, and it just fills the area you want.

Anyway here is my pic for today.

Nice bit of experimentation - interesting thought processes to achieve the outcome

Nothing to do with his divorce from his wife then? You don’t know what you got till it’s gone - call a yellow cab.

7.15am FBG 6.2.
Better than I deserved after late night pig out on sweet biscuits.
Weather fine and dry, well its not raining but ofc everything is still sopping wet. so plan is to get outside and continue clearing vegetable garden ready for winter. Maybe use chop saw? Neighbours wont approve. Hope to cut grass, when/If it is dry enough. They wont like that either.

John Campbell,
Discussion on Vit D and immunity and gives a good insight.

Cheers @lindisfel

Most informative .

Should have know more about vit D having been asthmatic since 11.but no one thought to mention it's importance.

But I was definitely more aware after T2D DX...
Mostly due to this forum.
It has given me so much information regarding many aspects of T2D,

I have to be honest, though..
I have really only woken up to the real possibilities and risks of many other vitamins since Covid hoved into view.

T2D scared me enough to investigate health more thoroughly, and in doing so gave me a head start on my old self, once covid appeared,
Perhaps god, really does move in mysterious ways..

Most informative, and the explanation of the T-Cell function cleared up a rather grey area for me.

25 minutes very well spent

Mucho gracias.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those of an aquatic nature.

A 7.3 on this late wake up morning.

Hmmmm reading through the posts this morning was interesting, some interesting philosophical questions, and an idea for Mrs J who does the arty bit now and again.

Well here in a very wet Tilehurst Towers nothing is planned. Yet. Mrs J will inform me and me's when deemed appropriate.
I shall sign out now, slurp koffy , eat breakfast then take a multitude of medications, then I shall be ready to exasperate friends, neighbours and whoever crosses me and me's path.

A question for our arty posters.
Could you please recommend some painting programmes for an Ipad Mrs J has expressed an interest in having a go. All styles.
Thank you.

My 3 favourite @alf_Josiah ... are
*ZenBrush2
*SketchClub
*Procreate

I also have
*Sketches
*Sketch Book Adobe
*Auryn Ink
*Art Rage
*Inspire Pro
*My Brushes
*Adobe Sketch
Which I have used over the years trying to figure out how to use them.
I did have more, but I just deleted a pile to make room on my iPad!

I think (but not sure) that these are all free to download, but there are in app purchases to get more brushes etc etc, which I have invested in, in most of them.

Hope this helps.

I just noticed another one Apple was promoting and that was iPastels, so I am going to have a peek to see if it is any good....

Best of luck with these

Sorry kind sir, can't help it would be the blind leading the blind. I think all those years, a lifetime, spent programming computers put me off most digital apps be they art or games. I'd do admire those that do and can use them so hope to see some of your good ladies work useing the apps @dunelm and @gennepher suggest.

Finished my yesterday's waterfall painting, watercolour A4 about 90 minutes in total..

A painting from a photograph I tookwhere LLyn Ogwen below the north face of the mighty Tryfan empties itself beneath the Ancient Roman road and thunders into Ogwen Valley. This is an area I enjoy walking in, getting busier now but on winter days midweek it can still become the wild, quiet mountainous wilderness.

Wonderful cascading waterfall

Had a brilliant day. Have caught up with the admin backlog. Mr K is a bit cross because he thinks I should have relaxed today but I actually feel quite relaxed knowing that I am so up to date and it will make next week much easier.
