What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Went down to the RSPB Reserve on the South Solway this pm and I took this photo of an Oak pulled out of the raised bog. It died 7,000 years before present ,(ref. C14 IMG_20201106_143215737_compress76.jpg IMG_20201106_143305644_BURST001_compress62.jpg dating.)
When the ice retreated the land went through several phases and we had climax oak forest for a time.

Two paintings, well actually part paintings not finished. First is the misty valley I drove down to Clock Repair Man the second the woods at Shugbourgh in Autumn Coat, this one is very wet on Wet, lots of gloopy watercolour let it run and merge, spray, let it run again, dry, then splatter with watercolour, all I have to do now once it's dry is make it look like an Autumn woodland :). First Mrs MC insists I remove all the splashed watercolour from places it should not be. :joyful:

It is fun doing splashed watercolour to places it shouldn't be...
Saves repainting the walls...it's a new design. That's my excuse to myself anyhow...

It does look like you were enjoying yourself.
I look forward to seeing the next bit @Muddy Cyclist

Realised I had not done my painting today. So, last hour or so, I was working/despairing/then happily creating this digital painting in Procreate.
I am happy with it.
Make of it what you will...

Looks like SPLATTER mode is the order of the day. No idea why but grim tales came to mind. Do like the piece though.

Thanks for decorating tips, with my watercolour methods today. :)

Bog Oak, I'm sure Mrs MC does have a piece of jewellery made from this tough old stuff.

PS looks in better condition than some Oak Beams in our stable block. :)

I feel human again after those two interactions
gennepher that's the sort of service we all need what a hard working pleasant young woman she sounds...no doubt working hard here to give her daughter & perhaps her family a better life people like that should be celebrated...well done you despite my best intentions I've done so little today couldn't be bothered to go out at all.

I would have let him set those chimes to make him happy...
No... I have a clock that chimes it belonged to a dear friend who passed away a couple of years ago...after three months I had to silence the chimes so they are wrapped in soft tissue...but I love the sound of it ticking gently particularly when I'm in the comfy chair ready for a snooze.

Hadn't thought about that!.

Yes, sort of the light inviting you in, but beware...

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist

Actually I did let my children, when they were much much younger, splatter paint on my stairway walls as high as they could go (my last house was a 4 storey Edwardian house), the stairway walls being virtually impossible for me to decorate , the height they were. Each child had a different shade of yellow, orange, and red. And it actually looked very good when they finished it...

Dammit, I have been blessed like Balaam's ass!
D.:)
I read somewhere that humans often dream in puns. They are under valued in present society and when one uses them unintentionally in speech it is a great source of hilarity for others.
Laughing at oneself is very healthy.

They say you have a 2nd brain situated in the stomach, if so then mine must be cogitating somewhat violently, or perhaps, the Royal Colonic Orchestra are in full swing

Whichever it is I am awake at 4 am showing 4.7 bloods and 3.2 ketones. Plus I have dropped through the 100kg ceiling and I don't care if it's a false positive :)

Just realised it is Saturday and not Sunday, not that it makes a difference in the combined worlds of covid and retirement. Enjoy the day ;)

Oh dear @Alien Aspie

Cat woke me up at 2:50 am. Time to get up he said...food he said...for him...and will you please clean that poo out of my cat tray...yes I said, being the ever obedient servant...

I have been pretty good at keeping track of the days, Friday is missing every week, for some reason I jump to Saturday, so therefore it is Sunday today. But now you are telling me it is Saturday now? Is that true? That means I have to do kaleidoscopes today...

I think I need another coffee...

Good morning everyone, well, not so good when I got up at 0230 here in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of chill con-coction raised the stakes at 5.6 just now but it was 5.1 at the time of rising.

Still not much movement from over the pond - very frustrating for all concerned but hopefully Donald will soon find his big boy pants and stop spreading rumours about the spoiling of his brand new rattle. What Joe needs now is a monstrous crow, as big as a tar barrel.

Wonderful art from the Jackson Pollock fan club @gennepher and @Muddy Cyclist - gave me some ideas about what to do today - maybe - wonder if I can sneak my bicycle into the house?

Thank you for sharing your photos @jjraak , @JohnEGreen and @lindisfel - water, boats, birds and trees - smashing.

Got a message from some friends who have been stuck at home each with their own set of virus implants - now given a clean bill of health by the mouth and nose swabbers.

Todays art is a couple of rocks and a few skinny trees, don’t think twice, it’s alright - the things that pop into my head for no apparent reason. Hope you all have a pleasant Saturday, Koffy must now be consumed.

I will take that as my levels have been a bit all over the place but I put this down to general unease about my job situation in general. Lots of motivational tasks followed by a couple of days of moping about watching Day 8762398 of CNN US Election coverage.
Things I achieved:
Figured out how to record a set to do a demo commentary for a role I have been chasing for 18 **** months.
Managed to find the corresponding match notes so now I need to do that when I have the house to myself.
Also need to do the same for the men’s matches this weekend and do the same to try for men’s tennis commentary so that is this weekend’s task.
Finally on top of company admin including the dreaded Bank Reconciliation and thank god the Chancellor has extended furlough so that takes a little bit of pressure off. But still need to find a job.
Became a little obsessed with the coverage of the US Election. It really made travelling to the US to cover tennis tournaments more fraught than normal during the Trump administration, being a POC but a true Brit is a peculiar combination in certain states.

Up early for hopefully the last Shock Wave treatment on my rotator cuff. Think drill bit hammering into the top of your shoulder bone ... a couple of things will happen. Either the increased blood flow will make the sensor super accurate or... the shockwave hammering into the same arm my Libre is on will bounce the filament right out of there.

Willing to take wagers on the outcome.

Happy first lockdown weekend everyone.

Seeing as I was on here 56 minutes ago, this digital autumnal painting of Cnight Mountain in Procreate (yes it is that misty mountain in the distance), this took me 56 minutes. But I was also doing part of the virtual walk up the mountain...here...
https://www.virtual-hikes.com/virtual-walk/cnicht-virtual-snowdonia-walk/

I am tired after that effort now...I need a nap...
