What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@Alien Aspie I like the excellent animation saved as a gif I take it.

My fbg this morning 5.5

Had a video conversation with my son yesterday was really nice to be able to talk to him face to face virtually, though a little worrying, things are as tough in Italy as they are here it seems also the friary he is staying in just outside Rome had a visitor from India a couple of weeks ago who unfortunately was infected with covid and now they have several of the brothers well three to be exact presenting with symptoms Adrian was having a test yesterday and will know shortly if he has the virus though he believes he had it previously so may have some immunity.

In Nottingham yesterday someone was hit by a train and sadly perished this morning it has happened again that's two suicides in two days and the same poor driver involved with both incidents very sad people are being driven to such extremes.

On a happier note I did manage to get out the other day for a walk in Hardwick park it had been a grey cloudy and wet day but as we arrived at the park around 2:30 the sun came out and we had a very pleasant stroll around the lake.Hardwick 131120.jpg

well that went massively wrong.

Fbg 6.4...I think...

A quick ZenBrush2 painting this morning because I have internet stuff to do.

Who else but Popeye...

Your picture of the Popeye made me smile this morning. I was trying to work out what he was thinking. Could it be 'I am a very happy cat as I am treated like a king in my house'

Most definitely!
He woke me at 1am this morning with his gentle whiskers on my face, then pats my face with his claws fully retracted...to wake me up. Cat tray he said, I need the smelly cleaned...and while you’re at you can fill my wet food dishes...

Yes Master, I said....

To be fair I had fallen asleep last night about 6pm, I go to sleep when it is dark early. So I did have 7 hours sleep before that 1am wake up call. But I am drop dead shattered now...

The sun came out an hour ago and he demanded his harness and lead, walkies round the garden, he is literally dragging me. He can walk and run faster than I can...then he tells me to hurry up with the keys and let him into the potting shed...so I have left him safely in there....

I am back on the day bed in the front room, sitting in the sunshine on the warm side of the window. Hopefully I will nod off in a bit...

As I said in my morning post 'Time moves on' and in less time than it's taken me to put shelves in garage at daughters and renovate a set of old Avery Brass Scales found in MILs loft the arts flown in.
@gennepher A very happy if not plump cat with a bemused look saying "I'm slim why have you done this to me?" Made me smile thank you.

@dunelm Your Bamboo drawings always fascinate me they are so well drawn such A variety of brush work. Landscape dominated by that tree, brilliant as usual.

@Alien Aspie Wow, Walt Disney studios eat your heart out. When do we get the full animated feature movie?

The renovated Scales had completely black Brass, the wooden Bass was all water stained. So elbow grease on the Brass and a good sand and polishwith Bri Wax on the wood which looking at the wood dust must be Mahogany. For now they have found a home in our conservatory.

Zoom meeting with members of the West Gallery Quire we sing in this afternoon, must get my makeup on if I'm going to look my best. :)

That is one complete mess.

I do realise that a lot of important things are being affected by Brexit and Covid, but I have no idea of the actual things affected in many cases.

This should not have been allowed to happen.

But when crises happen, or a system that worked before (or worked reasonably well), then the finely tuned, interconnected things that developed over the years to enable it run smoothly (or reasonably well) falls apart, and it is pretty near impossible to re create again those finely tuned interconnected things that enabled it to run as efficiently as possible.

I think we are in a mess for a long time.

Things will change, they always do. They have to change. And at some point things improve and get a different kind of better. But maybe not the more comfortable better we have been used to.

We have to be a part of that change. Be active in the ways each of us individually are able to. And in this I am talking about little stuff too. There is much stuff I cannot do because of my deafness, and my disabilities, but each time I go out for my shopping I make sure I put a smile on a few people's faces. I have a conversation with the cashier (if he/she is not wearing a face mask, but has a clear shield), and my attitude when I am out shopping is a happy one, and I ask for help if I need it. I did yesterday, and this young lad in the shop was more than happy to oblige and carry stuff to the car for me. And he was glad to help. These little things have a knock on effect of good. It doesn't sound much in the scheme of things with the shipping containers Ian posted the link to, but any little thing any of us can do positively, whether it is physically in real life, or on the internet, builds up towards something good.

But we have to tighten our belts, and change our attitudes, for a long time, at least most of us on this thread are of an age where we have to live through all the current messes, possibly for the rest of our lives remaining to us.

So this is the new normal what we are all going through. I am not saying that negatively. We have to think differently, think outside the box, and not fall by the wayside. It is so easy to fall by the wayside. Pretty much all of us has negative days which Covid has affected our thinking. But we can all get through this. It wasn't the more comfortable retirement we were expecting. We have to work forward in this in positive ways.

There was a discussion on R4 today at lunch time. They in effect said, if we think Covid is going to hit the country bad financially, an hard Brexit without a deal will be far worse, with serious consequences for the rest of many of our lives.

Popeye is a very lucky cat.

We also had an early night last night and were woken up at 3.30am as Poppy desperately needed to go out in the garden.
