What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.4 ➡️
I will take that on a bit more of a carby day than I would normally have.

More golf today and my newly purchased mini boot cover has already earned its keep with muddy wheels of my Squeaky McSqueakface, the ancient golf trolley.

This time packing my fleecy ski hat and neck cover... and glumly listening to rain. It was supposed to rain yesterday and it was gloriously crisp (read bright and schnuffin’ cold) ... I need to get winter golf shoes and proper waterproof trousers. Sigh.

Got my first Christmas cards so... I need to dust off my list and brave a bad-tempered town centre is the other day in M&S was anything to go by (other stores are available)... tree maybe going up next weekend. Will liberate it from the bomb shelter when I decant the golf bobbins later today.

Arthritis giving me a LOT of gip today... probably related to swinging a club and the cold. That is giving me a touch of the Bah Humbugs this morning.

look forward to admiring artwork later.
Hope the golf goes well and arthritis doesn't cause too much pain or time in the rough. No3 son took a day off on Friday to play golf but quite thick snow stymied that. Good news is that he came round and put a TV up on a wall. He has lined and waterproof trousers - I'm wondering if the milkman was involved with m'darling at some point. I also strongly suspect his made to measure clubs were funded, at least in part, by me via his mum without my knowledge:angelic:

5.7 this morning and I had forgotten it was Sunday, which has now taken me by surprise ;)

As it's dull and dreary with a chance of wet I shall follow the advice of Pooh bear and friends, enjoy the day :)

This Christmas will be hard for the poor and homeless, but at the same time rich men argue over principles.
I came to learn in life that arguments about principle don't have good results!

But the rich principled men won't suffer...they will get richer and the poor suffer more.

I shall be amazed if there is agreement with the EU, it needs mutual compromise.

Have a good day all.

Two points from me. Firstly on the Christmas being hard on the poor front. This from Catherine Bennett in The Guardian:
Trollope’s reflections on the tolerance for showy dishonesty that inspired his 1875 satire, The Way We Live Now, “so rampant and so splendid that there seems to be reason for fearing that men and women will be taught to feel that dishonesty, if it can become splendid, will cease to be abominable”. In a piece on Philip Green
The second re Brexit and deal. The Brexiteers idea of compromise is for The EU to roll over and let us tickle their tummy. They always imagined that is what would happen. They should have had the honesty to say we leave on WTO terms no negotiation we accept whatever consequences flow from our recklessness. BTW, hope all is well in Derekland.

I have great waterproofs for the days I used to cycle to the gym. But they only have back pockets and you end up with balls, tees, gloves and all swimming around in one pocket which is ... annoying!

I definitely need winter shoes though - methinks a quick trip on t’internet when I get back!

Waze makes me feel like I am a
Member of HM Secret Sevicd everytime I use it. I never go there same way twice and today was a complete magical mystery tour around the houses, literally!

also I forgot to take my tablets including an antihistamine that stops Swipey from itching like
Billy-O ... sigh!

Ring doorbell just paid for itself as I see that Cave Dweller never answers the door so I manage to intercept anAmazon delivery driver and told
Him to use the box behind him (as per the **** directions) ... then HIS Swipey machine wouldn’t
Scan! All from the car park in Carshalton! I feel technologically smug now.

Day can only get better, right?

All our Troglodytes are wrens! :);)

The mountains to the west had not much snow on them yesterday, but it looked thick on Helvellyn and the Pennines near Cross fell.
There was a temperature inversion
IMG_20201205_112800978_HDR_compress85.jpg with frost here but +3 deg C at 600 feet.
Here are a some views around Skiddaw.
