7.00am FBG 5.7 am astonished after yesterday's indulgences.

Really hungry at lunch time, decided to have two slices of toast, got it cooked, then thought better do BG. Eek it's 6.4. Why is that? Had almost zero carbs today. Slightly stressed though, out of gas AGAIN. Got lost in the country lanes on the way back as well. Would that push BG up?

Errant came back home soaked and filthy yesterday afternoon, no idea where he had been but he had black stuff all over his paws, legs, and chest. Thought it was motor oil, but seemed to be more akin to coal dust or charcoal. Anyway, wrapped him up in the pink towel, which he seemed quite happy with, then spent considerable time cleaning off the worst with a damp micrfibre cloth. Was amazed at his patience and apparent enjoyment of this treatment. He is not usually keen on me touching his feet.

He looks very contented with this treatment...

Thrown to, rather than thrown in works!
Used as a device to reveal more interesting stuff hidden away.
You do it all the time! :)
Je ne sais pas ce que vous entendez (@dunelm held my head down the loo and told me to say that. I hope it isn't rude):angelic: We all stand in sugar beet fields and chew straw round here, bor.

Worth checking your locality from time to time. Matty boy keeping his constituents safe. (Those 3 are probably one whole village:angelic:)

Fbg ...do I choose the 2:50 am number (cat was hungry and woke me...) or do I choose the later number (after I had convinced car to radiator hug and leave me in peace)
Later number at 6 am is 6.7 (earlier 2:50 am number was higher). It has gone down since 6 am

In between the mithering cat adding purple paw pads to this iPastel painting and me drinking coffee, I had to put this painting into Procreate to resurrect it...sigh. iPastel appears to have a limited amount of undo functions, unless cat is resetting the settings function. Cat is very fond of purple. I don't know how he does it.

Cat appears to have reduced the file size too. 357 kb and jpeg now. It was png and a few mb. I cannot be bothered to go back and find what he has done...
A fine piece of art from Popeye and you, could have been a catastrophe but ain't. :)

Looks like we are staying in Level 3, son in law having to self isolate as one of the teachers in his bubble have Covid, not sure what daughter and youngest grandaughter have to do. Nephews now got it, Wolverhampton, he's young and fit cyclist so fingers crossed. Numbers better here but still too high.

Looks like no Brits will be going to Europe for summer holidays so even more people will be miss treating the British Countryside. Police were out at the weekend on Cannock Chase as all of its car parks were full and people were parking illegally, never happened before, 2021 looks like being a crazy year.

I have been a bit busy with floor fitter and sorting house so no art, I will catch up over the weekend, promise.

Floor now finished, took a day longer because fitter sliced the palm of his hand yesterday with knife. Brave lad, lots of blood, should have had stitches but he glued and gaffer taped it together, slowed him down though. Still all done now pictures below...

Well chemists can't count, it's the second time since June they have given me Dabigatran 4 short.
It's an expensive drug.
Once is a mistake, twice is unfortunate, if it gets to 3x its a conspiracy.
I shall be on their case tomorrow.
D.

NB.
Profuse apologies from me, it wasn't the Chemists fault, it was mine. The duchess discovered the tablets this am, thanks, less red face than could have been. I do have a habit of misplacing stuff, because I must admit I am not a tidy person. D.

good evening all :)

4.8 this morning

We went out for lunch but no volunteering run for us today because the charity depot is closed. The long awaited new drainage and tarmacing of their car park, which was supposed to be finished yesterday, has hit a humungous snag. The tarmac was already finished across half the car park when they had very heavy rain at the beginning of the week and discovered the newly laid land drainage didn't work at all :(
the contractors dug a test pit and discovered that when the industrial gates were put up at the site (dating to before the occupancy of the charity), they had put one of the gateposts through the main land drain, it's bedded in concrete, the contractor reckons about 12-14 foot run of drain is blocked. They've ended up having to rip up some of the new tarmac and part of the street and road surface outside. Glad it's not my drains ;)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@Muddy Cyclist - hope your headache improves swiftly, I must say your new flooring is gorgeous, you must be so glad it's finished :joyful:

@dunelm - if the christmas meal is fancy dress mr gee says he's going as a grumpy old f*rt ;)
really like today's scene, the human interest adds scale and the 'backwashing' has really worked for you :)

@Alien Aspie - glad the HR has settled, hope the pain isn't anything too serious :sorry:

@gennepher - that's a lovely picture and I like the subtle tree silhouette in the foreground, it has worked very well :)

@ianpspurs
looks like we have more cases but our 'per 100k' rate is lower :sorry:

inspired by the work of an artist called Michal Jasiewicz, I like the way he handles backlighting.

Tonight's poem (in before the football) In drear nighted December by John Keats. I like Keats, I understand about trees in winter. I miss pruning apple trees in December and stacking 4 tons of logs. Malcolm Guite's analysis ties in to Advent in an overtly Christian way but the secular ideas here work well. @geefull very apt piece for the poem.

Oh dear, it will be same in the Lakes, but worse!
