Hi all.

Using my old meter and strips to check fbg
Had 8.0 and 7 2 last two days.

Not unexpected considering a good few extra meds for leg, an excess of a beer or two out of boredom and being at the whim of others cooking for me..

So all self inflicted and on balance others are a lot worse off ..no hugs required.

Intention is to get through next two weeks, then begin placing weight on leg and get back please god, to full mobility

On a plus note
Visit to docs a week back, left me flat and very down .. potentially 50/50 re leg needs resetting

Oddly enough there is a timed delay in them sending out appointment notes ( net access, similar to docs web access..like it )

Reading notes of last week's visit, a much more positive outlook..
I wonder if they took a second look at x-rays before doing write up and saw it in a better light ?

Will wait to see and hope their new DX is accurate.

Downside ...no win, no fee, decided not to take on case.

Not defeated, but certainly deflated.:sorry:

Oh and joy, oh joy..I got CCTV back so I could watch and grimace internally all over again as I watched my fall....ouchie ouchie .:wideyed::woot::arghh::arghh:

Stay well all.

Sad day, @Muddy Cyclist but good to hear the trip to friends funeral went as well as could be expected

Respect to the language, but agree on the gantry signage, SO not helpful..why not dual language ?

Nice you got jab & so well organised.

Horrible to think others less so and people left behind.

Take care
Hope wife gets hers soon, too

How awful @gennepher about that appointment.
Wonder how many less able are being sidelined unknowingly.

Good job you managed to find it this time around.

Wonder if @HarryBeau, @dunelm may knows more about how surgeries work, re keeping patients, etc ?

I hope the visit help give you time to sort out such nonsense.

At risk of worrying you
Mine has a systems online page..works well.

Since been invited to join to surgery site HFP
Both up and running, not had much interaction of late, but both functioning.

HFP seems like an upgrade
It has systems online as a link on its page
Seems to function the same

Which one I am meant to rely on I don't know
Loath to trouble survey unnecessarily, so I'll monitor both for now.

Good luck with visit :)

Good morning @jjraak
Thank you.
That new system worries me.
Mine is doctorless surgery which many do not understand the concept of.
And my eye specialist in Liverpool last week had never heard of a doctorless surgery and didn't know who to address his letter to my doc to, because I don't have a doctor any more. Consequently my eye specialist sent me my patients letter, and in another envelope sent me the one for my doctor?!?!?
I need to sort that out too on Friday.
All the battles I have done over the years for accessibility for deaf people are now literally falling on deaf ears. It is either telephone now, with no email. It makes me feel powerless.
I have friends who will phone for me, but it makes my heart heavy that I cannot be as independent as I was, and takes away my internal power.
But only if I let it.
Yesterday it had taken away my internal power, as I was not expecting this.
And I was not expecting to find there was a supposed appointment, that I knew nothing about from last October, that had me down as a no show, that I didn't attend. I have never missed an appointment in my life. Is it an insidious thing that posits certain patients as unreliable? And then they can say we don't want this patient? What am I supposed to think? Or wonder?

I will be monitoring my surgery's site weekly. It is an ill worked out site anyway, which allows for no communication between me and them, apart from me ticking I need a repeat prescription.

I am hoping you improve and get back to full mobility as soon as is practicable for your body to repair itself safely. You will do this. Be focussed, and do everything within reason to achieve this.
Take care x

A hug @gennepher for the unbelievable hassle that system puts you through.

It just sounds crazy :banghead:

So sad such an institution is taking away people's independence.

I don't have your problem, but I do find for me it's more the other way, less Comms with people more click on line for xyz,.which suits me

But I am aware I have the.lucury of a call when it goes pear shaped.

I am truly flabbergasted that in this day and age we seem to make life as difficult as possible for those who clearly need a more deft touch to manage such administrative systems.

I know you'll prevail one way or another.
As you always have done :)

And thanks for the kind words.
I'm too Impatient to be a patient, clearly ;)

Take care

I have friends who like the new systems with less communication with people. They say they find it less hassle than phone calls and music and waits etc which I have never experienced, but I can see my friends are frustrated (this is pre Covid days when you could hug a friend!) with that system.

As you say, you have the luxury of a phone call (as a hearing person) when things go belly up on these automated systems.

But, I am hazarding a guess (from a friend's recent experience), that the phone call option is going to be limited or nil or hidden in the depths of the website (as she found when trying to sort something very important in the last few days).

I am afraid we are working towards complete automation of these contacts with doctors or businesses etc @jjraak and if you don't fit in one of their pre ordained 'tick' boxes, that is it I am afraid. You are doomed.

It will be soon time to head for the hills and the isolated caves in rural Wales and Scotland. I don't think England has very many totally isolated places.

Better get your feet back on track as soon as possible...and get back on that important motorbike of yours...

Yeah , @gennepher , I do see that interminable, press 2, press 3, press aghhh.
Creeping in so many places.

Skynet creeps forward slowly but surely .

Looks like a UK tour is going to be on the cards , sometime soon.

Just came across some Twitter post that a comet is more likely an Alien spaceship

There's got to be aliens somewhere...but maybe in a form and dimension we cannot see or perceive @jjraak

I have just been outside, where it is snowing, yet there is a clear sky above me, with a cup of coffee and looking at Betelgeuse. Really orange this morning.

That was a nice bit of fresh air...cleared my head!

Hm, a lot of brain mulling going on during the night - don’t you just hate it when brain goes on and on and on - still, fence plan organised, post cards sorted and a fine painting produced - all life springs from the stars so flowers are good. Now put that Timothy Leary cook book away.

Thanks @dunelm
Brain organised my day well!
:)

Caught up on posts, thanks to all for your concern and enquiries about my travel Tuesday, all went well although a boat may have been a better vehicle to travel in, so much rain and all the motorway gantry signs on the M4 were in Welsh, I am a supporter of keeping Welsh Language alive but Ganteey signs in Welsh on a motorway that was more like a river was taking the biscuit in my opinion.

Some fine art, @gennepher two nice night scenes from you, I like both. Sorry for all the stress you have endured over the last 48 hours.

Thanks @Muddy Cyclist
Those sign are in English as they enter Wales here, saying Welsh Covid rules apply (not much point in putting them in Welsh for the wayward English is there!). Also there are warning signs, also in English only, to say stay away from Snowdonia. But anything else like roadworks/detours/problems/slow down etc are in Welsh!!!

Finished the first in my winter heathland watercolours. On Cannock Chase I liked the ice on the heathland ponds with reflections of dark grass and wintry sky. I will do two more in this series.

Watercolour A4 about 1 hour...

Love this watercolour. And the dramatic dark grasses...

@gennepher - hugs for all the hassles you are having the last couple of days. Hope you can find out more on Friday about why this c*ck up has happened.
Like your Vincent style colour palette, the 'flowers' remind me more of snowflakes, very like those we had this morning here, bright against the darker sky :)

art bit -
my version of a work from a New Zealand artist called Adrienne Pavelka, I love the way she pares things right back and the way she uses colour.

Thanks @geefull for the commiserations.
And for the art compliments.

I love your muted colours, and inspiration from Pavelka.

Ducks hiding in the reeds yesterday so a very quick sketch on a small 2 x 4 piece of very pale yellow rice paper - and, while wearing walking boots. Take the very best of care, must have koffy.

Great to see how that works out on a small piece of paper @dunelm
I like it.

This was at 1:30 am when I got up...
I have been stargazing in the snow with a coffee. Watching Betelgeuse....in the early dark hours...
Writing postcards.
Painting my digital painting in Procreate.
Now I just need a quick nap before I go and post them...

@dunelm Back in the U.K. For awhile so Ducks in reeds drawing very appropriate. Liked the playing about with colour today a nice composition.

@geefull That's one very good painting you have turned out I really like that style and you have crafted it so well. Good news re your mom getting vaccine.

Need to get my act together today been dwelling on to all many past memories which is good but also sad.

I have two music recordings to do and send off so that will either help my state of mind or frustrate me depending on how they go.
Thanks @Muddy Cyclist and pleased that you returned home ok. Cannock Chase chill - it looks very cold, excellent sky.

good evening all :)

4.6 today

an 'orrible' weather morning today, started with frost and continued with light rain that fell and froze :sorry: There followed more rain and sleet but fortunately it warmed up a bit later on. :)

We didn't have so much ice in the village because of the sea but it was sheet ice everywhere by the time we got half way to town for the weekly shopping. Socks, boots and a big furry hat meant I cut a slightly bizarre figure in the aisles at Lidl :hilarious: never mind, I was warm :)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@ianpspurs - glad your feet are at least comparatively dry there :) my sister tells me that there is almost a river rolling down the road outside her house and she lives on a big hill.

@gennepher - hugs for all the hassles you are having the last couple of days. Hope you can find out more on Friday about why this c*ck up has happened.

@dunelm - Like the composition of your valley and especially your trees on the ridge the foreground, I'm working on trees myself at the moment, they're not easy. :)

@Muddy Cyclist - I'm glad you are back (hopefully) safely from your journey :)

I really like how the colours have worked in your finished painting, that gold and mauve duel lights up the sky. A fine painting :joyful:

Thank you @geefull and pleased that your arctic expedition to the land of Aldi was successful. I don’t know Adrienne Pavelka but I do like your painting. A very paired back way of giving so much detail.

Good morning everyone on number one Strumpf free morning in the dark and dangerous north and no rain so far.
The wonder wheel of the answer to the chicken and egg dilemma came in at 4.6 this am - it was a tie - both arriving to the plate at the same time like confused baseball players.

Some flooding on routes into town - of course 180 degrees is always flooded - it’s the sea. Town is OK but routes southerly are very damp. West to North seem fine. York still having it’s problems - I can remember sandbagging duties in the late 60’s and they still can’t seem to solve the problem - it’s the flood plains you donkeys.

Joe and Kamala managed to pull off the day with help from the glitterati - nice to see Garth Brooks sticking with jeans. Let us all hope that they do well. I do wonder what first nation people think of all “this land is our land”. I guess the Saxons had the same feelings with the son of Robert The Magnificent and his chums, all called Norman.

Painting today, using up some paint splashes on my backing roll and reflecting on the rain. Hope everyone enjoys their day, @jjraak - hang in there with your injuries. Koffy time.

Morning all.
FBG 7.3 mmo/lt at 0630 hrs.
Still stormy, maybe better this p.m. At least this hard rain washes the bird poo off my boat's deck.
Horrible Covid 19 stats yesterday. I guess this means that MASH-style triage is now in operation at many hospitals, to save those with better chances. So sad.

Greetings all on a day when it seems apt to find a way of having Biden 46 or Harris 1 printed on the back of a top. New Swipey played nice with 4.4 this am. I'm not sure anymore if either Swipey or OMAD are robust enough to bear the full weight of credit for that. I am currently half in and half out of trust in LC and testing as a process for me. This takes away certainty and tends to leave me feeling like that period in life when one starts to doubt Father Christmas - the universe suddenly shrinks. Anyhow, its time for Shopenhauer or shopping hour or shopping channel.
