good evening all :)

4.2 today

shopping day and it was a suprisingly quiet start today :) plus Scotland still mandates mask wearing so that's quite reassuring.

blue bin has been emptied so our small recycling items are trundling away to wherever they end up :sorry:

Large recycling we take to the centre in the nearby town and have the satisfaction of chucking bits of scrap metal noisily into skips etc. ;) (I know, I know - 'little things amuse little minds' :D)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@alf_Josiah - hope your clinic visit went as well as you could wish :)

@lindisfel - what a fantastic pair of photos, beautiful skies :joyful:

@Muddy Cyclist - what a sorry disappointment :( I hope something effective can be set up soon.

@gennepher - a lovely painting today (with or without autowriting ;) ), It's very fluid and I especially like the colours you brought into the foreground :)

@dunelm - another little gem, those cool receding hills are lovely :)

art bit - thank you for your kind comments on yesterday's art, I do like the Hahnemuhle paper even if it needs a different way of working :) the exercise will do me good

ok, now I want to try some Rizla paper in a collage :hilarious:

no paper info. today for my peony painting ;) because I forgot to make a note of the details :sorry:

Art from me at last...

Based on my rides on Cannock Chase, the Larch are glowing with new needles, beautiful and I'm not doing it the majesty it deserves. Next step, background darker and left tree brought forward.

A4 watercolour, will finish Thursday as it's a promising a wet day here....

Sounds like you are into Heavy Metal at the skip. I hope you create some harmonious sounds. :)

I like the Peony Art, you have a good eye and technique for these floral pictures. Our Peonies are in heavy bud, we shall probably miss the flowers whilst away Whit week.

Good morning everyone on a day of mixed messages on the sun/rain balance here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken diners came in at 5.1 this am

Zoom call last night - Patient Practice Group - another 600 invited for Jabs on Saturday, including Mrs Miggins and myself. Talk about Flu jabs and Covid booster jabs in the autumn and also moving back to a normalised practice. Our surgery was doing telephone triage well before the pandemic so will be continuing in some cases. Lots of insight about NHS England and the roll out. I am sworn to secrecy until it all gets leaked and auctioned off by the the man from Barnard Hassle.
A new branch of Hard Rock Cafe is due to open in Newcastle - woopee! We went to one in NY and then another in SF and a third in London - blooming heck, they are all the same - no. Koffy is OK but that’s about it if you are looking for minimum carbs.
Tracks and trains being run by a govt body? Surely not - how would that work? Wonder if it will be called ‘Great British Railways”?
Another few rocks today. The background refused to cooperate - Ah well, the carpet fitter will be here this morning to make banging noises. Koffy.

Welcome from the land of the twee and the home of the brave. In keeping with an old rhyme from The Fens ™
when the nut mylk blossoms proud and free
atop the clean eating, wokeness tree
remember thou to take a knee
and neither stabber nor swiper be
May 20th has always been the ancient festival of wokeness in my family.
It is of course, also, a more natural day for the weekly bin parade - front drive is a green destination, at least this morning, no test or quarantine. May not last the whole day- depends on the data. Loving the art since I last came a calling. I'll take your word that is a Peony @geefull (they're all flowers to me but them uns look spiffing; @Muddy Cyclist I know they aren't fruit trees so Larch seems entirely feasible; @dunelm definitely above sea level therefore all mountainous where I'm from. Remembered just in time, I don't wear makeup on Thursday, I'm sick of covering up. Keep your hand on your halfpenny and stick that wallpaper down well.
(I'm very, very happy to be as woke, clean eating and makeup wearing as possible. I take the knee and drink nut mylk and if you aren't/don't it is absolutely none of my business and equally valid)

The sky was on fire at dawn this morning, then suddenly grey clouds, and stormy windy downpour.

I shut my eyes for a wee nap before I went food shopping, but I fell into a deep sleep...

I woke up too late to put the recycle out :(
And I was now late for my early morning shopping :(
The retail car park was too packed, and too many people were shopping. Even pre-covid I wouldn't shop this late, but I needed some stuff... so I got just enough to last me until next week. And then I will try and get out early again.

I get tired anyway when there's more people to deal with, more people to dodge in the aisles, more people to do the social distance with or rather the social non-distance dance with as it appears to be now, more queues which I don't have the energy to deal with. Morrison's has been really bad at not providing enough open tills since Covid began (it used to be good and they would open another till if there were more than two trolleys in a queue, but not any more), however it is the nearest store and I had no choice today. It is my last resort store...

So, this is a relative quickie painting. And I am in bed getting warm again. It was so cold out this morning. And I need a long sleep to become human again. Popeye is keeping me warm.

I'll be back tonight, probably, to play catch up on your posts. I am giving me my me time for the rest of today, And any thing that should be done can go hang for today, or drop off the bottom of my 'to do list'...

Good Morning, sorry afternoon, could not log on this morning. 5.6 for me today.

Wet here but stuck in as I have a man crawling all over our floors finishing the job he did in December, joins between all rooms being made good. Listening to his colourful language I think he's having some problems, screws would not go into Oak and so he's having to Raw Plug Everything. :banghead:

Keep safe and dodge the rain drops.

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen.

1st. Many thanks for all kind thoughts and best wishes for yesterday's trip to the hospital, a raft of blood tests and an ultrasound scan are required.
The local hospital and my transplant hospital are changing the way things are done and it sounds very much like joined up thinking has at last been applied and I hope this new system works.

Bloods this morning were 6.8, that meter is well, best not say to much.

Yesterday evening I analysed my eating patterns and the conclusion was I'm mostly vegan ( shock horror ).
Let me explain
Most of my meal is composed of vegetables say 70%, then the balance is protein with a little gravy.

The upshot of this horrendous conclusion is I'm damaging the environment with vegetation generated flatulence and causing farm animals to starve by eating their fodder.
Should I go back to eating processed foods irrespective of the damage to my health?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Once again I am reminded of Iceland and the mountain belching red hot lava hundreds of feet into the air.

Those poor, starving farm animals - get thee to a charcuterie and tarry a while.
