What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.7 this morning.

I am feeling a bit like a market trader as I sell off my equipment. Sold a lot of cushions and mats and small equipment yesterday. Sad to see it all go, but it saves so much time now everyone brings their own. No more hours of sanitising mats and equipment, washing head cushion covers, packing everything up at the end of the day and lugging bags of it to the car. Probably the only good thing to come out of this pandemic.
This sounds a very good way forward @Krystyna23040
Many of us might have been too accommodating pre Covid and lockdowns, in some things...

Yes, I think you are so right. It wasn't until 'bring your own' started that I realised just how much extra work supplying everything myself caused. Also, it was hugely expensive to keep replacing the equipment.

Probably also swelled funds (apples always fall in orchards) and will save £s on washing and sanitising. I do hope the sainted Mr K is rewarded with some decent whisky;)
Mr K definitely is always rewarded with decent whisky. Especially as I delegated the job I hated - putting the clean cushion covers back on the head pads.

Phew. I can enjoy my tea now. He is a hero to we cheps on here. We have our own whatsapp group to share concerns and offer support. Will he make Henley this year?, please don't forbid him from a simple pleasure. I'll sort the blazer and cap/boater;)

Excellent - win, win, win

8.35am FBG 6.0. All that furniture moving and organising caught up with me, or else it was the blackout blinds. Don't usually sleep so late.
It's a long way from the kitchen to the new bedroom... is MrSlim still going to get his cup of tea in bed every day?
It's a misty, muggy morning and it feels the same inside my head...its a good thing MrSlim is driving. Among other things we need a bathroom cabinet, so I am obliged to go with him. He wants to do a big shop, what happened to the man who hates shopping? Besides, we don't have much room in the freezer and as I recently commented, things don't seem to last in the fridge.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and proto humanoids, a sadly neglected gender, but not doom mongering journalists, I added that journalist bit just for @ianpspurs , sometimes one or several of me's have to be a little naughty .

After last night's birthday curry with my girlfriend no 5 and her husband to celebrate her 90th, my blood sugars were 4.8 this morning. Confused me and me's are. Out with the steam driven sliderule, log, antilog tables, teabag reading mug and a quick glance through my copy of Nostrodamus all to no use, so I discarded all my calculations, guessed a number and divided it by that well known constant steak and kidney pie. Insulin now administered.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers, I hope you are well, have a great day, stay safe, stay well, stay apart.
Koffy is now calling, whoops so is Mrs J.....

good morning all :)

4.5 today

we spent part of yesterday strimming and raking, my how tall everything had grown with the recent warm rainy days ;) then I fell asleep after dinner and didn't do any art :sorry:. Never mind, the sun and exercise won't have done me any harm :D

Off to Mum's shortly to pick up her shopping list, we have homemade soup for lunch to take and a couple of leftover meatballs for Katy (for some reason she's not a fan of soup preferring chicken or meatballs - never tell me the dog is daft ;):hilarious:)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@ianpspurs - just the blood results to wait for now then, hopefully all in the good range :)

@SlimLizzy - we have a 4' bed, a 4' 6" bed and a 2'6" bed, the 4' one was supposed to be 4'6" but was delivered and assembled before the suppliers mistake was discovered. I have single bedding for the smallest bedroom kept in there but tend to not worry about the other two, I find sizes can be slightly skimpy, especially fitted sheets, so I bought double quilts for each of the other beds and buy flat sheets, just gives me a bit more to tuck in :D

@gennepher - I've made my own bedding before too but, like you, I don't bother now unless it's something special :)
a lively and colourful painting today, birds at that size must be a cat's nightmare :D poor Popeye, he looks suitably unfazed though ;)

@dunelm - winner star for the sipping wine in the sun and for the painting both :) Very effective colouring and the resist really has worked well, I hadn't heard of brushable wax resist before. I'm thinking getting some Winsor and Newton lifting medium to try next time I make an art supply order :)

art bit - I was trying to get the rays of sunshine coming through the clouds in the evening.
not too dire but I'm a bit disappointed that the colour turned a bit muddy because of the mix of pigments, I think it would benefit from cropping the top area of the sky out ;)

Thanks @geefull

It is hard getting that much information in one painting. If the sky is the important bit for you, then you could crop it where the land meets the sea. Or as you suggest, crop some of the sky. But a useful tool is an pre cut mount, or two corners of a mount and play with possible crops. I don't do that now, but I take a photo on my phone. Use the editing tool, and try a load of possibilities. I can end up with the idea that just a small part of my painting has more impact...

Oh, all linen must be white as per crockery and walls, ideally.
Ideally all walls would be white here too, as it helps to - not conceal, that's impossible, but make less noticeable the many irregularities in a very old building. However MrSlim has very strong opinions on colour. So we have a green, pink, blue and even a yellow bedroom. All of which have differing sizes of bed. And coloured linens. Matching them up can be tricky, all white solves that, but makes identifying sizes even more difficult.
@geefull this is something I am aiming for. To get appropriate bedding stored in the correct room. Once that is cracked, problem solved. Do use flat sheets on the five foot bed as it has a deep mattress and fitted sheets don't. Fit that is.

Thank you for your comments @geefull . I have seen that lifting medium but am loth to try it on rice paper. I wonder, like @gennepher if you should try cropping tools on phone, IPad, laptop etc., and look for possibilities.

Good morning everyone on a bit of damp squib of a start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of an overly portioned chicken dinner came in at 5.5 this am - greedy boy.

Tradesmen's entrance used yesterday for odd jobs round the house, can you still have a tradesmen’s entrance? Will other entrances need to be constructed for fairness or will the trandesmen’s entrance have to be chucked into the canal? Somebody mentioned crowds gathering in a football stadium and local public houses for a knees up and to court controversy on a large scale. Can politicians really be sure that their personal mobile phone is not a snooping device and how easy can a security camera be swivelled round? All this, and more if you dare to turn on your tv.

Art today, after the contemporary Chinese artist Huang Binhong. Have a wonderful bin day, make the most of this mainly harmless and gentlest of parades and do join in with the Bin Shanties. Time for koffy.

5.1 this morning. It looks like dawn phenomenon is no more and fbs is now consistently lower on the P.E. Diet.

All classes are local today so a much easier day with no travelling.

Good morning from a wet and cold start in Forest Heath. Today is childcare day but our granddaughter is struggling. We have our orders, childcare isn't for novices you know. Swipey reckoned 4.9 would do as an estimate, extra work may raise the final cost. @dunelm tradesman? Surely skilledbeing is more of the moment - please attend a re-education course asap. @karen8967 interesting meme - I can apply that to others. @Krystyna23040 good to know P:E regime works well for you - may be helping me on the bathroom scales. I would need a 3 or 6 month run and A1c to feel confident it did anything else but you are more attuned to your body than I to mine. Tinkety Tonk Old Fruits.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, neanderthals and those of confused gender.

A 5.8 on that meter of deception and mystery this morning.

Did you watch the game of football the ball? Me and me's neither.
Mrs J is an avid tennis fan and records the Wimbledons of Womberdon matches, needless to say me and me's treat tennis with same interest as foot the ball. None.

Today is national bin day and music lesson day, earlier this morning me and me's realised that my keyboard is very woke friendly, nearly 50% of the keys are black, at least something I possess is in keeping with the politically correct affictionardos .

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers have a great day and remember the stays.

My eyes are tired and blurry, it's hayfever day...
And so your painting looks like some fine silk embroidery to me., with the paper puckering bit, being the silk fabric. It looks very beautiful @dunelm
